Check out the beautiful scenes from London today as true heroes do all they can to disrupt China's Murder Olympics

Damn, wish I was in London today...

I hope these protests grow and grow and eventually send the corrupt Chinese communists murdering monks in Tibet and imprisoning their country a message. And I hope Americans on their way to China's US distribution centers (aka "Wal-Mart") today see these scenes and realize that they're doing wrong.

F*ck China. Boycott Wal-Mart. Free Tibet. Do good.

And the torch is gonna be in San Fran on Wednesday. That should be fun.

The power of the people

Keith, really, why do I care? There are plenty of tyrants in the world, why do I care about Tibet? They invaded and annexed them 50 years ago, why do I care?

Looks like an internal matter to me, seems to me it's none of my business. Where am I wrong?

Don't single out WalMart for boycott if you don't want to buy Chinese goods. You must include Target, Kohls, Home Depot, Lowes, Mom and Pop stores (although independently run, they also get most of their goods from the Chinese), and just about every single store in the U.S. What you need to do is decide that you are going to buy American when you set out to the store. For example, the other day I wanted to buy some tennis balls. I looked at the bottom of each can until I found a brand that was made in America.

And another thing, when surveyed, a majority of the Tibetan people are happy under Chinese rule. Those that aren't admit that their families belonged to the ruling class prior to Chinese rule. The notion that the Tibetan Buddhists were peaceful, just rulers is a complete myth. Everyone needs to learn the history of the Tibetan Buddhists prior to condemning China's involvement in the region.

Does Tibet have oil? No? Then I don't give a shit.

The Chinese Olympics is yet another manifestation of our "Subprime" morality.

We'll travel thousands of miles to kill people for their "freedom" but we wont give up a few days worth of sports?

What was Rev. Wright's thesis again?

p.s. we have stopped shopping at Wal-Mart; we don't pay that much more and we are feeling much better.

Don't be fooled by the "made in America" label. There are things called "foreign trade zones" sprinkled all over the US. These places are considered outside the US so you can import stuff without tariffs, and if you do enough processing (I think 50% of the final product cost), then the item is deemed to be made in America. So all you have to do is buy the completed goods, package it here, cook the books a bit to hit the no-tariff-made-in-America label, and voila, tennis balls that aren't imported.

"And another thing, when surveyed, a majority of the Tibetan people are happy under Chinese rule."

Yes, and 100.00% voted for Saddam Hussein. Who conducted this survey and what safeguards were in place to guarantee the safety of those who wanted to state their unhappiness with Chinese rule? After all people regularly are sent to prison for doing precisely that.

"Everyone needs to learn the history of the Tibetan Buddhists prior to condemning China's involvement in the region."

Regardless of the long and complex history of Tibet t is unacceptable to imprison and torture people for owning a poster of Dalai Lama. Or shooting at demonstrators, or kicking out journalists. We should protest against the regime's actions in Tibet, just like we protest against what they did at Tianamen square. It doesn't matter what emperors and buddhist lords did in the distant past.

Read about history of Tibet

The 'harmonious' pre-China Tibet was a SLAVE country. The word they used is SERFDOM. Chinese abolished slavery.

In pre-China Tibet, Few Lamas owned everything, everybody except Lamas was a slave and a small police force had one job only - to catch and punish runaway slaves. Very nice and spiritual, especially if you happen to be Lama.

These are the facts.

World is not a perfect place, and never will be. I think it's better for one to mind one's own business.

Some things have to be done for world to remain generally peaceful and stable.

Your enthusiasm strikes me as naive, Keith.

Maybe you stick with Housing, don't ruin your credibility.

I agree. This policing of the world has got to stop. None of your business, Keith. Let's work to get our troops out of Iraq first, before we ask China to leave any territory it controls.

+, the US Gov needs China's cheap goods to keep the inflation basket palatable to the sheeps at home.

+, this Tibet thing has nothing to do with HP!!

I'm sure San Fran will celebrate Chinese communism since they hate America and want communism to reign in.

fuck the Olympics,not watching them.
I will begin boycotting the sponsors too.

I was happy to discover this morning that my towels where made here in the U.S.

let's start buying from small businesses, i know we end up paying more but it helps us appreciate more what we have because we have to make it last longer.and maybe our fat-asses can loose some weight by eating less.

just my 2 cents, I could be wrong...

Don't get your panties in a bunch about Tibet. They were the last feudalist country and allowed slavery more recently. And guess who ruled ? The holy man himself, the Dali Lama.

who cares

should china boycott the USA because of Iraq/afganistan? We are preventing the right of 'self determination' in those countries just like china is in Tibet.

The big fish swallow the small. Protest all you like, maybe the big fish will spare a few small ones if he's already got a full belly.

evolution in action everywhere u look.

Keefer,
America will not again send its boys to police the world, after Europe (UN / International community) spit in our faces, post 9-11

To hell with this cause.

Looking forward to see what the EU will do.
When the EU goes to war with China, we may send 500 peacekeepers.

I didn't ask the government of the United States to intervene with China.

I'm asking the PEOPLE.

The "why should we do anything about what China does to its people" crowd - you would have stood by while Hitler did his thing too, right?

Shameful.

Interesting, don’t remember you being soo concerned about the people of Iraq when they were being put in rape and torture rooms, or when thousands of innocent people were thrown into mass graves alive by the Iraq regime.
Oh, did you protest when Kurdish woman and children were being gassed in their villages?

The people of this great Country will always be the first to help out others, but even we need to take a breather after being soo alone in helping everyone else

This one will have to be fixed by some other People.

I didn't shop at Saddam Hussein's stores or support his Olympics if I remember

You do what you can to confront evil. Even evil here at home. You don't stand by and do nothing. And you especially don't support evil if you don't have to.

Meanwhile, anyone heading out to Wal-Mart (or Target, or Dollar General, or ...) today is supporting evil. You can try to justify it all you want, but the truth will remain. You are supporting evil when you knowingly buy Chinese goods.

Ok, let me see if I get this.

The Muslims are understandably always very mad because of their economical circumstance.
Right?

And you’re suggesting hurting a billion Chinese in their pocket book?
Will they then not turn into a billion homicidal maniacs?

The UN has been suggesting that the way to alleviate the anger in Muslim populations is by bringing them up the financial ladder.

Are we not helping the world and the people of China by raising them financially?

Isnt this whole system better then having Bono donate 50lbs of rice with Global concert money?

Here's how the imprisoned people of China get to see today's events

http://torchrelay.beijing2008.cn/en/journey/london/news/n214295096.shtml

After reading that, I've gotta say our Fox News isn't bad by comparison

That's not saying much but it's saying something

Great idea, lets all stop buying products made by hard working parents willing to work long hours in uncomfortable environments to support their families, because of their government.

No, because some lazy ass monks prefer to humm a deep meditative mantra over earning a living.

In a year or 2, half the Chinese can be on our payroll courtesy of the American taxpayer, just like Africa.

Boycotting Walmart, Target or any other retailer is not the issue. Its boycotting products made in china.

I personally don't have any problem with walmart etc, but I prefer not to purchase products made in china (and some other countries). I was at walmart the other day and it seems they are starting to have more products made in the USA. In many cases you had the choice of made in USA or china, the price difference was only about 10%. I also noticed that the products made in the USA are starting to put very visible marking on the front of the package to express it.

Keith, you are probably right in the ongoing housing crsis, but you are so wrong kissing Dalai Lama's ass. Like you said before, people are sheep only know how to follow, so are you.

Dalai Lama wants his days back so he could be the biggest slave master in the world. It's that simple.

I will not buy any craps that have the label made in China.

All these f*cking Chinese on this blog keep saying "Everyone needs to learn the history of the Tibetan Buddhists prior to condemning China's involvement in the region" or "Don't get your panties in a bunch about Tibet. They were the last feudalist country and allowed slavery more recently. And guess who ruled ? The holy man himself, the Dali Lama." or how the monkies looking Chinese helped build hospital and road in Tibet since they took over 50 years or so ago. These are such stupid examples. People used to use out house and cleaned their asses with grass fifty years ago so does that mean they are still using it today? Without the Chinese, could Tibet have advance along with the modern world? I don't think the Chinese invented the current hospital or road system so I think Tibet would have advanced even more with Western technology had the damn Chinese not stole these poor people dreams.

And stop compare Tibet to Iraq. The US might have invaded Iraq but it said once Iraq is secured, it will leave. The US is not trying to make Iraq its 51st states. The damn monkey looking Chinese are claiming Tibet belongs to them even though I don't think they even speak the same language or have any thing in common.

Honestly, I have now idea how far it will go, but I've been laughing louder and louder as that whole Tibet/Olympics thing grows up in ridicule.
You bet, by this time, occidental countries would have pulled out some sort of action about it. But no, it seems the only diplomatic card left to us is a "threat" of disturbing the Olympics...
Seriously, even if we were to do that, do you REALLY think Chinese
will give a damn about it?
If we can only rely on that type of diplomacy, I can tell you right now Tibet will remain in China. Because when the Olympics ends we run out of "credible threats". Lol

Oh for God's sake, the US is the most unbelievable murderous empire of all time, and nobody blinks an eye. The British joined us! More bad manners from the country that sold the empire for a cup of tea.

Wow! Londoners are so brave. They mob an Olympic torch runner. Such courage under fire indeed! Yet they stand by and watch as their city is overrun by Muslim mobs over a cartoon. Real brave.

And what the fuck is with this walmart obsession dude? You think Target sells only Made In The USA products? It sells the same shit as Walmart except at 5% higher prices. And Sears sells the same shit at 10% higher. And Macy's sells the same shit at 20% higher prices. Boycotting walmart does nothing but help walmart's competitors. China gets the same benefit.

All your precious manufacturing jobs are NEVER, EVER, EVER, NEVER, EVER coming back to the US. Manufacturing trinkets in the US makes no economic sense. Paying some obese unionized slob in Ohio $20 an hour when you can may a Chinese $0.20 an hour to do the same job - and do it much better - makes no sense. You can bitch and whine and cry to your Democrat congress about it until you are blue in the face.

Yeah! They did it! The protesters in Paris extinguished the flame and forced the organizers to shorten the route: no more displaying harmonious Chinese dictatorship. I am proud of you, people of Paris.

Hmm:
*securing ministry of oil, let culture be smashed during invasion -> check
*install puppet regime -> check
*promote violence by stupid decisions (ask general Garner) and black ops -> check
*build biggest embassy ever -> check

Some people will never get to the truth.
