HousingPANIC Stupid Question of the Day

What % of realtors do you think are former (or current) strippers, bartenders or DJ's?

(what's up with that?)

40% bartenders
25% strippers
25% retail clerks
10% bored housewives

Hmmmmmm probably more than half.

If we're talking about realtors who joined the "profession" this decade, I'm sure it's over 90%.

More importantly, what percentage of realtors today are going BACK to stripper/bartender/cocktail waitress jobs?

Highest concentration of all of the above would be in Miami, FL.

Let's not forget about the loan salesmen. I have a friend who was a career bartender who last year took a job in sales with Household Finance. He had 0 qualifications for the job but a high turnover is part of their strategy - most of the compensation is commission and if you don't make your numbers then you're out. So they'll hire anyone.

It turns out this friend of mine is a bartender with the moral flexibility required to push bad loans on the weak and vulnerable. He used to be a heavy drug user (still smokes pot regularly) and frequently found himself hooked up with some quite unsavoury women.

Within a year of beginning his job, everyone with more than a year of experience was fired and my buddy was put in charge of the office.

The whole industry is rotten to the core.

Was out the other night haveing a beer and the sexy bartender also was in the mortgage industry. What are the requirements to enter this industry? Do big titties help?

Come on - You have to have a personality to bartend and at least look decent to be a stripper. I'd say most were cashiers, mall/retail employees. Most realtors I encounter are quite grotesque - the cheap suit and leased car do not impress.

Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Circa 2004-2007

Who: Realtor and Mortgage Broker Boyfriend.

FACT: Realtor was a piece of ass, who used to strip at DreamPalace on Scottsdale Road.

The boyfriend was some Meathead who was selling I/O NO Docs by day, and pouring martinis by night.

Eric, I don't think the 10% bored housewives is correct. It's more like 10% desparate and divorced houswives who can't find any other job.

I knew there was a housing bubble where I ran into my friend Adam about a year ago after not seeing him since college.

The guy was the kind of guy who barely graduated highschool with a D+ average, worked as a waiter and bartender having sex with more women in a month than I have in my life.

well when I saw him again last year he was a mortgage broker and told me he owned 2 houses. This was back in 2006.

I have a feeling he is back to bartending and sleeping with waitresses.

How soon till 'Suzanne' from the real estate commercial fame is raising 'side money' turning tricks on lunch break at the dollar store?

Hey listen up,

They may all be former this and former that.

But one thing is for sure:

They are, always were, and always will be LOSERS!

I am the manager of a irrigation/PVC utilities wholesale supplier in Ventura, Ca. Not heavily reliant on new home construction so still working for now. I ran an ad for an entry level delivery driver recently. The usual Ex-Gang crowd and a few older, looking for benifits semi-retired applicants showed up. This time two interesting applicants: Yacht Salesman/Broker and YES! A Realtor. Oh ya I forgot about the Chef from a local Country Club. Seems memebers are walking away...

A better question would be - What percentage of realtors are illiterate? I was just on the MLS and not one listing W/O major spelling errors. Use the F'ing spell check for God's sake.

I know one that was a limo driver.

I was at the grand opening of the Bloomingdale's at South Coast Plaza (Orange Co, CA) last year and she told me nearly all the new sales reps they hired on the floor are realtors.

With all the realtors going back to their stripper jobs, will lapdances be cheaper?

The good thing is it's negotiable whether you tip 5 or 6%!

Wow. Keith - really showing that elitist attitude, eh? The implication of your question is that a bartender/DJ/stripper would not be qualified to be in business if they chose to move on to another profession? Not shocking, since this entire blog is just the ramblings of an egomaniac who "saw it all coming", "hopes people learn a lesson" etc etc etc.

Remind me again exactly what you've done, other than troll around Europe and hope America falls apart? And please don't tell me that this lousy blog is your version of giving back to society. You reach roughly 1 in 1 billion people. I mean, c'mon. It's a blog on blogspot.

Dude, there's another perspective... it's called 'Rage Against The Machine', and no, I'm not talking about a heavy metal band. This is when you have a clear insight but then get browbeaten by every mainstreamer out there. That's when it kicks in and you start lashing out at those who you see as the source origin of the problem, realtors, Tangelo, etc.
