YouTube Video: Freak realtor who might be on coke vs. Peter Schiff Round 2 on Fox News (Warning - this one is deliciously painful)

Freak realtor who might be on coke: "I'm not going to bore you with all of these numbers. It's a terrific time to buy! A new home is going to cost so much more in a couple years!"

Schiff: "This is a terrible time to buy a house. It's a great time to sell one - IF you can find a buyer!"

Freak realtor who might be on coke (now yelling): "I completely disagree. You're misleading people - you spend too much time on Wall Street and not enough time on Main Street"

Schiff (barely able to contain his laughter): "Ma'am, I'm the only person who's not misled people on real estate over the years. I'm one of the few people who told people to ignore the cheerleading of realtors"

At this point, the show ends. And I'm sure the freak realtor who might be on coke made a beeline straight to the ladies room if ya know what I mean.

HILARIOUS! But sad in a way to witness the desperate behavior of ramen eating realtors as it all caves in around them. Sad.

Go Schiff! HP f*cking loves ya man! (and of course by "coke" I mean Coca-Cola! What were you thinking?)

If you had to hand over a check for $500k, which of the two would you hand it to? The realtor looks like she spends her commission check on overpriced hair products and leopard print skin tight wear. If I had to wake up to her every morning, I would make a visit to the local sporting good shop's guns and ammo section.

Great line by Pete, stating that he is the only one who has not misled people about housing. The realtor crack head yelled at Pete about that. She brought up the term misleading. So I wonder what is on her mind.

Anonymous said...

Bitch didnt get schooled enough, she needs the Detroit lesson. Peter really should have put her in her place better, like calling her a high priced whore, nicely of course. However where Peter didnt slap her down enough, the Realwhore did that job on her own by looking and acting like a meth freak.

yup, as in the previous post, call them the National Association of Strippers, Waitresses and Copy Machine Repair Guys or National Association of $500's. After what I just saw, either one gets my vote. Realtors just can't stop themselves from spewing "misleading garbage" and FOX loves putting this stuff on the air. God, are there no morals and ethics anymore.

I give serious kudos to Fox for having Schiff on

Originally it was to serve as straw man and punching bag against the likes of Mike Norman, but then go figure he turned out to be right

Every time Schiff is on it has to be good for ratings as fireworks go off - which is what Fox wants

MSNBC and CNN are asleep compared to Fox when it comes to the housing crash. Fox is doing a decent job of at least covering the story (even though their anchors try to spin it into happy talk).

Numbers, shmumbers, they're so like you know boring. Trust me I'm an expert I took a 2 day seminar on selling real estate. Just go buy a house already and fahgeaboutit.

Anonymous said...

Realtor doesn't want to look at the numbers. I'd embrace ignorance too if I were her since the realty trade organizations predict a bottom in what seems like every month. Too funny. Realtors embrace ignorance. Death and taxes aren't the only predictable things.

Anonymous said...

Nearly all of Schiff's segments on Fox are good, but this one was over the top -- hilarious! I think the facelift that this realtor had is obviously too tight and is cutting off circulation to her brain.

I have to admit I did not (and will not) watch the video.

I am done watching, listening, talking with Realwhores. The mental health clinics will be (are) doing land-office business after this one.

How about something new like some heartwarming post-holiday stories of families facing destitution and living in their soon-to-be-reposessed vehicles?

I love hearing those stories, especially while paying my bills and adding to my savings account. Of course, my car is 8 years old and I OWN my small home, so I am Nothing on the pretension scales and would not warrant a passing nod from these newly 'rich'..

Oh, so sad to be a saver and owner these days, especially here in magical SiliCON Valley, home of the $800K 45 year old fixer-upper with 4 mortgages on it (all readt for default)...

Boo Hoo Hoo, I'm a victim.

Heck of job, George!

RE: Freak realtor (Connie) who might be on coke (now yelling at Peter in regard to his accurately predicting the current real estate crash in advance):

"Why didn't anybody else listen to you? Why didn't the rest of the world listen? My gosh!"

Taken out of context, it would appear that this fu*king Realtwhore bitch was lamenting the fact that the majority of buyers, Realtwhores, brokers and lenders DIDN'T heed the warning.

Actually, she is claiming that because people DIDN'T listen to Peter's gloom and doom prophesy, he must have been wrong. He was right, but she won't admit it.

Connie used the word "crisis" to sum up last year's housing price collapse, the huge increase in mortgage defaults and bank bailouts. In spite of this crisis, she still thinks that NOW is a great time to buy:

"So, if you want a home -- a new home -- builders are slashing prices and practically begging you to buy them. This is a terrific opportunity. PLEASE people, go out there, do a little homework and you'll see that that's true."

And why are home builders going broke and dumping value-packed houses? Connie doesn't see the problem here. Obviously, she let Suzanne do the research for her.

If a person does his or her homework, it will become obvious that it makes no sense to pay too way much for a crappy particle board and plastic box in a far flung housing development that is infested with foreclosures.

This bitch need to get into rehab immediately.

Anonymous said...

that was a classic! suzzane, watch out!

the funniest thing: "you get more house now for your money!"

for those of us who "care about numbers," that's only true after you pay for it and, because of "mark to market," your investment is continually sliding backwards so you're out more cassh and have less house!

Anonymous said...

The average person wouldn't have gotten anything out of that exchange.

The realtor was completely incoherent, and Schiff was never allowed to complete his thought before being interrupted.

You have to applaud Schiff for trying to get the message out there, but he is wasting his time. He only makes sense to people that have done their own research to begin with, and that represents a minute percentage of the population.

Anonymous said...

If someone is desperately trying to sell something, you should be a bit skeptical before buying. This is just common sense.

I'd like to ask this woman why buyers shouldn't be skeptical of sellers trying to sell overpriced (even after the slight reductions in price) real estate.

Also, she talks about how if buyers do their homework they'll see that it is the right time to buy. I did the homework, and in my area (MD), house prices are still very unaffordable (unlike 10 years ago). She is just talking out of her a$$.

Here's the question I wish Schiff would have asked her. With lenders going back to the 3X annual income rule (thats a given), how does she think homes are going to sell when current prices are at least 5X income, and in most cases even more. Come on, this is the question. Any idiot can go out and make an offer on a home they can't afford, but how does the NAR think they are going to get a mortgage under the tighter standards now.

I've been invested with them (their R4 fund through my 401k) since late 2002. The total gross expense ratio is at .87%, which isn't bad, especially considering the 25% returns it's delivered.

The note I just sent directly to Connie and to Coldwell Banker offices.....

Connie-

While I am not usually one to comment on realtor media appearances, your recent WWF-style sparring on FOX, with Peter Schiff was the most horrific things I have ever seen, and only served to down-grade our profession even more to below the level of a used car salesman. It is absolutely no wonder to me that Americans have lost trust in realtors.
Coldwell Banker is an otherwise reputable firm that I associate with quality, and having you as their representative will do more damage to their image and reputation that Paris Hilton has done to the Hilton family. They simply could not have chosen a WORSE representative!!

While I don't agree with Peter Schiff on everything, I will say that I have also followed him for years, and he has been 100% right about the decline of the housing market due to many factors, including lax-lending standards, artificially low rates and unsustainable housing prices that have inflated 2-300% in some areas. I have done my research, I have looked at the numbers, and they overwhelmingly back the theory that we haven't seen anything yet. The coming resets of Alt-A loans will dwarf what we have seen with subprime for example. Housing prices will have to crash even further before we even begin to correct.

While I too have chosen this profession to be able to help my clients in the most important financial decision of their lives, I will not mislead them when the numbers and projections speak for themselves....they just aren't that stupid on the East Coast I guess, and I have more respect for their intelligence than to try to feed them the lies that you do.

Please, Please PLEASE stop going on television to represent this profession. You are NO match for Peter's calm, rational, professional demeanor, and in fact, looked like a Joan-Rivers clone WACK JOB against him. It was good for a few laughs if that's what FOX was after, but they were clearly at your expense and cast Realtors everywhere in a badddd light.

Coldwell can just do so much better...........

I saw this on tv and I almost fell out of my chair laughing at this dimwit of a real-estate agent. She is so stupid. I predict that she will soon be selling cheetos and potato chips at a corner hot-dog stand. Go get 'em Peter Schiff. YOU DA' MAN!

When she said no one in the world listens to Peter... Peter should have fired back - "You've proven my point exactly. No one listened to me and that's why we're in this incredibly huge mess. If people would have listened, you would still be selling houses and not giving BJs for your next fix. So you and the world should start listening to me and maybe prices will come back down to earth and the wheels will start to turn again. Otherwise, keep putting on those nice lipstick to keep the your lips from chapping during your B-job, oh, I mean side job."

As a real estate broker myself I am sure I will take some heat here.
First thing let's stop bashing somebody on his/her appearance. It doesn't add anything to the debate.

Then Peter Schiff is right and it is so true that myself I was wondering these past 2 years how banks lended money to people who obviously couldn't afford these houses they were buying.

And I have now a better question: I can see almost everyday when I watch some real estate transactions some obvious mortgage fraud. How come nobody in the banks is watching that? Here in Miami I can see some houses bought in 2005 and sold in 2007 with a 70% markup ? This is mortgage fraud at its best.

However, this Realtor from Beverley Hills was right on one thing: Real Estate is local. Peter is right that too many houses were built and the market needs year to absorb this inventory.

But in some places like Manhattan, or here in South Beach and even Miami, land is so scarce that the inventory will be absorbed as soon as the prices get more realistic.

In South Beach it seems that the real estate crisis is already over. We have so many foreign buyers.

But besides these very specific locations, yes we are having a big crisis, and I see it as an opportunity to finally have some affordable housing.

See, I didn't insult anybody. Best regards.
