OK, all kidding aside, I'm really getting worried about DOPES!!!

I hope he/she didn't do something stupid.

Like buy financials or the REIC.

Stocks Slammed by Bad Credit Fears - Stocks Cave on Worries Over Investment Bank Writedowns, Anxiety About Upcoming Earnings

NEW YORK (AP) -- Wall Street plunged again Friday amid renewed fears that the financial sector's troubles with bad credit won't soon end and that some consumers are buckling under signs of a slowing economy. The Dow Jones industrials fell more than 240 points.

Not to worry, he was on here wednesday telling us how much he was making on stocks and how smart he was to get out of gold before it drops to $200. I'm sure he's doing great just like he tells us.

Anyone got 401K info? I am looking for any article that shows the 'average' 401K in 2000 and now. The Markets have gone nowhere in that time and most people think they are going to retire on a 401K. Seems to me that they are sadly mistaken. Many 401k's mirror the market and Average Joe just blindly throws money in.

Perhaps we need a dopes-aid benefot concert

C'mon, admit it Keith.

YOU ARE DOPES!!!

Good timing, this morning I posted my nomination for the official song of the housing crash; all full of peace, love, undertanding and anti-capitalism :)

Give the hippies credit, they can't work for a living, but they're great at protest songs.

There will be a 1,500 decline in the Dow on monday morning. This wil create a panic that will "force" the FED to cut rates on 1/30/08.

How do I know? Well it is the result of my long trend chart analysis.

Have fun on Monday- Remember the crowds always panic the question is what do you do when you are surrounded by a mob that can't think straight? Buy ofcourse for the next counter trend rally.

DOPES could be trading away one chunk of his HELOC'd money at a time and still use those "free" credit cards as a backup. Defaulting on the unsustainable $500k debt in the end, he'll prove that he is THE deflation wizard!

I have my 401K in the international fund and it's doing fine. I had $0 in 2000 and now I have over $85K with my employer matching 80%. If I didn't contribute, I would have spent it all on crap anyway. What would you suggest people do? Not invest and get the matching funds and stick cash under their mattresses?

They are going to cut 50pts either way. They will also monetize the bad debt. It's a choice between inflation and depression. Besides, with inflation, foreigners holding US$ will be forced to buy American assets or else watch their money dwindle down to nothing.

Well, it looks like the inexhaustible consumer is finally getting tired of spending. It has been a long time coming.

I made a killing yesterday on CFC why you fools sat and thought about the hosuing bubble.Get off the sidelines and start acting like real men.You morons have been predicting a crash for 3 years and nothing has happened.I imagine you are still hunkered down in the basement at mom's.

Keith,, Can you say S&P 1270??? DJIA 10400?? NASDQ 2000?? Wait until 4th qtr 2007 reporting start to come in and the negative misses pile up like pancakes at IHOP.

NO F'IN WAY does the shotgun BAC/CFC deal go through.

Go ahead Helicopter. lower rates to 0%. It won't work. It's called deflation.

dopes,

I upped my CFCs profits today - had closed all my positions a while ago - missed the huge drop :(...

Bought JAN 08 puts: http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=CFCMS.X when I saw it spike up way more than it should have yesterday - a bit off the top (for CFC). Sold them today a bit off the bottom (for CFC).

I wasn't short CFC for the great drop earlier, but it was pretty obvious it was going to spike up after it - Wall Street always over shoots both ways.

I only made 35% or so (in my IRA account so tax free) but my risk was as close to 0 as you get. And with no need to get lucky like those who bought just before the spike (or have insider info...). I closed the position since it's back to the luck of rumors now. But it was as close to certain as can be that CFC would open lower today...

...foreigners holding US$ will be forced to buy American assets or else watch their money dwindle down to nothing...

Exactly. They'll go after hard assets first, if they can. I'm thinking land, or stock in companies with lots of land. Then physical plant, e.g. mines, buildings, refineries, factories, etc., although you'd be gambling that the weak dollar will make the US an attractive place to outsource work to. Utilities perhaps. Transports like railroads, ships, etc. US-based financial companies? Not so much...

Are you puts doing as good as my puts? It almost feels like stealing, almost. LOL!

There can be many DOPES imitators, but only one real DOPES. Was that the real DOPES that posted yesterday and today? Will the real DOPES please stand up?

Pretty close. You got the all caps and the misspelled words right, but you forgot to mention that ipods are selling and that the market is still higher than in 2003.

The DOW is getting further and further away from 14,000.

After yesterday's action, I can see it easily fall to 8,000.

Here is an idea... why not post a blog that details what put to buy, how much, etc when. Update it each day. If we are all so sure down is going to tank, lets spread the wealth among the HP's. Publicly post what to buy, when, where etc. Heck, maybe a mass mailing list so we can all get in on this!

I don't own stocks I don't believe in this gambling nonsense. This is the reason the economy is about the collapse there are some people who works in the banks and wall street who just push paper dinero for a living and contribute nothing good to society. These people should be looked down upon as scum and should not be extracting millions from the rest of us.
