HousingPANIC goes on the run

HP should get a bit more interesting as I take the blog on the road to start 2008. First stop Croatia for January, then to the South of France for Spring. After that TBD.

There is a different way that some are
figuring out. Rent great places for pennies on the dollar instead of "own" (or being owned). Work from anywhere (thank you internet and wireless phones). Live within your means. And enjoy.

I'll let you know how overpriced real estate is looking throughout Europe - my theory is that we're seeing an even bigger speculative bubble over here than in the US - and the crash here is just starting. The collective consciousness on housing as a get-rich-quick scheme hasn't changed like it has in the US, but oh, it will. Oh, it will.

Moderation may be a bit slow for a few days as I make my way over the Alps although I expect to have internet access throughout my travels. Make my job easier and post any hot news here (tinyurl and highlights only).

And yes, one nice thing about going mobile is that I'm even tougher to find. F*ck you REIC!

First stop Croatia

Keith, are you going to visit any hostels while you're there? If so, are you prepared for torture?

Whenever you hit the road all hell breaks loose!

Watch your back brother.

Silly Keith.

Don't you know that by traveling you are "throwing your money away" just like those trashy renters in their run-down apartments.

You should be "investing" your money by sending it off to a mortgage company every month!!

It's a "great investment" because on a 30-year fixed you only wind up paying 3x the original purchase price of the house in interest.

LOL

Keith,

If you don't mind me asking what do you do for a living? Sounds like fun!

Well - MAKE UP your mind.

Either the USA is toast (from the article right below this one) or Europe is in even worse shape (from this article). If so, the dollar will have a rally.

So which is it?

Marky Mark

PS. It is Europe. Their housing prices makes even those in LA look like a bargin and, after taxes, they bring home 1/3 to 1/2 of what an American brings home (net). Add in expensive socialist welfare programs that Democrats in American only dream about and you have a bubble that will make America look like a well run country...(and we won't even talk about the muslims)

Keith, you lucky bastard!

Enjoy your trip....sure wish it was me....sigh.

Enjoy your trip Keith. Thanks for all of the great work you do on this site. I have followed your blog since the very beginning and you have been as spot on as anyone I have seen and I read a ton.

I love this blog!

Need a place to stay in South of France?
Would be happy to help out and contribute to your work in undermining the system. We have amble space for friends.
I live not too far from Montpellier.

By the way, why is Marky Mark always so concerned about Muslims in Europe? Considering what Christians have done over the centuries, Muslims have some catching up to do.

Thanks h.e. but gonna be in Nice. Plus if you associate with me Cheney has given himself the legal right to pick you off the street, take you to gitmo and waterboard your ass

Seriously, kidnapping Europeans at will is now his right. And nobody cares.

Meanwhile email me with any tips - hope the weather's decent in Feb/Mar - it blows in London

I hear Croatia is awesome.

Stay safe and enjoy your trip.

In Europe you pay your taxes but you actually get something for it.

1. We have universal healthcare
America has nothing (excuse me, I meant to say you have HMOs- but isnt that the same thing though?)

2. Europe has functional public schools where students actually learn (compare that to the Joke that you have with American public schools)

3. The Police in Europe actually do their job. (compare crime rates in Europe to crime infested U.S.) what do cops in US do other than sit on their asses...(and we wont even talk about the problems you have with Mexicans)

------------------------

Yes, Muslims have to catch up on learing to be human:

1.Stop sadistically beheading people (seriously, that is some sick shit)

2. Stop persecuting females of all ages and classes (seriously, why does the Muslim religion persecute women- where's the outrage from NOW (national organisation of women)and all the other hate groups

3. Learn more on what it is like to be Christ like. You dont have to believe in Christ, just follow His values; Peace, Love, Compassion.

Once they've accomplished that, then yes, they wont have much catching up to do.

Keith,

it's not Cheney waterboarding my ass I would be worried about, but about my head. No one ever drowned for getting his ass under water. Do you know that in Europe, mass media is telling us that waterboarding means "splashing water in your face, in order to create the "impression of suffocation"?. They probably never wondered where the word "board" was coming from in that torture method. And actually I think I already have a file with the US-sercret services for other reasons. I am like Ron Paul. I like freedom. This seems to have become very un-american today.

For tips: all over the Cote d'azur, prices should be just freaking unbelievable. But if you want to go to a gorgeous place, go see the Gorge de Verdon, right on the border between Var and Alpes de Haute Provence. Simply breathtaking. And close to Marseille, the Calanques. Beautifull cliffs right over the sea.

A bit north, the Luberon mountainous area is worth visiting (Bonnieux, Lacoste Mont Ventoux) Prices should also be obnoxious. Luberon has been "chic" for Parisans for almost 30 years. Prices are accordingly high.

And whoever made the comments about muslims. Do you have any idea of what Christians did to indiginous people of all continents in order to spread Christianism?

And in the Middle Age, torture was intrensic part of executions. Just cutting the head off was too soft for the revenge and punishment intended. That kind of punishment was the privilege of the aristocrates. In some executions, all bones were smashed in the body in order to tie the condemned on a wheel. In others, persons were burned slowly ! to death. The normal way to execute common men was to empty his intestines while he was perfectly conscious. (I don't know the English word, in German it is Ausweiden, in French éventrer. When the English executed William Wallace in 1200 and something, they put them on a grill while he was still alive.

In some history books you can find nice contemporary images of different ways of execution in comparison to very single one of them beheading seems to be an act of mercy.

So just stop this entire sh't about the love and peace and compassion of Christians. We are humans, muslims are humans, and humans are capable of the worst.

DID YOU BUY THAT 45,000 DOLLAR CONDO IN SCOTTSDALE AND NOW CAN AFFORD TO TRAVEL THE WORLD?

1. We have universal healthcare
America has nothing (excuse me, I meant to say you have HMOs- but isnt that the same thing though?)

I pay $140 a month for health insurance. Never dealt with an HMO in my life. I'll take that and a 28% income tax rate over your "FREE" healthcare any days Jean-Guy. If I lived in Europe I'd pay $140 more just in gas alone.

2. Europe has functional public schools where students actually learn (compare that to the Joke that you have with American public schools)

The numbers are skewed by the sub-humans who attend school in the inner city. Take that out of the picture and American schools are no worse than Euro schools.

3. The Police in Europe actually do their job. (compare crime rates in Europe to crime infested U.S.) what do cops in US do other than sit on their asses...(and we wont even talk about the problems you have with Mexicans)

Remind me again how many riots we've had in the US by Mexicans in the past 100 years. Zero.

Riots in Paris in the last 2 years by Muslims? 4

Dolt.

This is so true and it makes me laugh that uneducated Americans (actually, it's the "educated" ones since the brainwashing is done by left-wing college professors) really believe that things are so much better in Europe.

Everything you mentioned is true. Add in the European snobbery and class society and you have a really great mix there.

Have relatives that just bought office and residence in dubai. Could be all the oil dollars being invested into real estate as a hedge. Many young middle easters are flocking to dubai and buying RE as an investment.... Guy tried to talk me into buying there. Come to think of it, on a trip to vegas in april, a guy at guesting at the hotel approached me about buying in vegas... Curious to see if you're approached about buying while on the road....

You're kidding, right?

American public schools are the laughing stock of the world be it inner city or suburb. Come to Germany and see for yourself how vastly superior the curriculum is compared to the US. We're talking Calculus and a mandatory foreign language proficiency, most of whom select English. How many foreign languages can you Americans speak? Further, what is considered AP (advanced placement) in the US is considered core material in most of Western Europe. It is absolutely numbing to think that you believe even for a second that your schools even come close to European levels of high standards.
----------------------------

"Remind me again how many riots we've had in the US by Mexicans in the past 100 years. Zero"

You need to do some homework on your Mexican invaders that are absolutely destroying your country. In fact, its one of the main issues (illegal aliens)affecting the next election?
As far as crime goes, do a Google search called "Illegal Alien Crime Wave" by Heather Macdonald. The vast amount of murder, rape, and untold numbers of homicides being committed by Mexicans against American citizens inside America is sickening. Talk about Riots? Its like you're living in a country in a continual state of violent crime that is unequaled anywhere else in the civilized world. Get a clue. Or better yet, get educated, but this time get educated in Europe!
