But Greg Swann says George Bush is a great man!

"I have a tremendous admiration for George W. Bush, the President of the United States. My reasons are legion, and the rest of America will have to wait for historians to explain to them just what a great man they have so completely scorned in their well-scored chorus."

Olbermann Calls Bush 'Pathological Liar or Idiot-in-Chief'

On Thursday's Countdown, MSNBC host Keith Olbermann used his latest "Special Comment" to denounce President Bush as a "pathological presidential liar or an idiot-in-chief" for continuing to talk about the potential danger of a nuclear Iran after receiving word in August of the possibility the newest national intelligence report would find that Iran no longer has an active nuclear weapons program, but had suspended such a program in 2003.

Olbermann: "We have either a President who is too dishonest to restrain himself from invoking World War III about Iran at least six weeks after he had to have known that the analogy would be fantastic, irresponsible hyperbole, or we have a President too transcendently stupid not to have asked, at what now appears to have been a series of opportunities to do so, whether the fairy tales he either created or was fed, were still even remotely plausible. The pathological presidential liar, or an idiot-in-chief."

Well yes...up until this point.

He gave HPers the best Christmas Present ever!

A full on lip service bailout plan that is more complex than the homedebtors loans and helps so few people that it just set the crash into warp speed potentially.

That and the MSM stating things about the high % declines for 2008 will change the psychology of the masses.

And they say that RE is "sticky" on the way down. I'll bey that it's not as sticky as one might think.

Price Reductions Anyone?

Bush's plan for an interest rate freeze get an icy response

n an effort to stanch the nation's subprime loan crisis, the Bush administration announced a controversial plan Thursday to freeze interest rates for certain borrowers for five years.

The plan, which targets only a segment of people faced with the prospect of losing their homes to foreclosure, drew vitriolic criticism from some quarters as a government bailout for irresponsible borrowers, while others complained that it fails to offer enough assistance.

Patrick Killelea, a Silicon Valley computer programmer, runs a popular real estate blog at www.patrick.net that for years has blasted what he sees as the ever-expanding real estate bubble.

These days his audience is incensed by the idea of rescuing irresponsible borrowers and lenders and softening a housing price correction that theoretically could allow some people to gain a toehold in the pricey Bay Area market.

"We're talking about helping people who made bad decisions and asking the government to intervene on their behalf only to let them make more bad decisions later," Killelea said. "What if there was a Vegas bailout? I blew all my money in Vegas, but I should be bailed out?"

Idiot? - not really, for the people who the president represents, big oil (seven sisters etc.), military contractors, wall street movers and shakers he’s been fantastic, really top notch – look at earnings of the top couple percent of the population (who own just about everything) are doing swell. So the public says some nasty things about the administration do you think that matters while they count the money? All the wasted taxes dollar goes somewhere, right?

This just is the way it’s set up, from the start: “Sooner or later every republic ends in tyranny” – Ben Franklin What can you do? Be aware, think … this blog is a fantastic example of that. Making fun of the president is sort of counterproductive … it’s as if that’s what we are supposed to do instead of seeing what’s being done to us. In a real sense our make believe two party system is just a barrier between our ‘betters’ and us the unfortunate rabble, who’s lives ‘happen’ to them with no understanding of why.

“We hate the system we are trapped in, but we don’t know who trapped us or how. We don’t even know what our cage looks like because we’ve never seen it from the outside” – Gore Vidal

This Blog is an expression of real ‘American’ style freedom - march on, hold you head high and thanks for the courage! Buddy you’ve got a set of brass ones…

PARIS, Dec 6 (Reuters) - The OECD advised the central banks of the United States, Japan and the euro zone to leave interest rates on hold for more than a year in a report on Thursday which said more rate cuts by the U.S. Federal Reserve were not needed.

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development forecast slower economic growth in the industrialised world and a sharp slowdown rather than recession in the United States in the short term due to a worsening housing slump.

In a twice-yearly report, it said its new economic forecasts were based on assumptions that U.S. interest rates stay on hold at 4.5 percent until recovery kicks in in 2009, when the Federal Reserve could raise its key rate by 25 basis points in the third quarter.

Let's Not Panic and Ruin the World
By BRIAN S. WESBURY
December 7, 2007; Page A17

You can't move these days without bumping into an economic pessimist. "Recession in America looks increasingly likely," said the Economist magazine on Nov. 17. Two days later, in the International Herald Tribune, Nobel Prize winner Paul A. Samuelson brought up the specter of the Great Depression. And then, on Nov. 26, former U.S. Treasury Secretary Larry Summers wrote in the Financial Times that, "the odds now favor a recession that slows growth significantly on a global basis."

The pressure on policy makers to do something is intense. Not only is there a desire to see the government get even more involved in the housing loan market -- witness the Bush administration's plan to freeze starter rates -- there is also tremendous pressure on the Fed to make another large 50 basis-point rate cut in attempt to alleviate credit-market problems.

Oh come on, Bush is the only US President to STOP a re-count of votes - by using a secret Bush-co corrupted supreme court - because the recount would have shown that Bush lost the election to Gore by apox 38,000 votes in Florida.

But nevertheless, Bush will be left out of the US history books when they publish all the previous US elected Presidents - Thank god!

The rest of his GOP paranoid regime, PNAC, 9-11 criminal secret players and tax money laundring supporters will all be considered dangerious Bush-co gang members -with many who ended up in US prisons, moved away from the USA or commited suicide at the peak downfall era of the Bush/Cheney illegal empire.

Exactly. You're a fool if you think all his "missteps" are due to mistakes, miscalculations, incompetence, lack of info, etc.

The ONLY thing that makes sense is that there is, indeed, a conspiracy to bring the USA to its knees, and that our President is just a puppet playing his part.

Mortgage Plan Emails: "NO bailouts! Let The Market Place Settle"

Posted By:Diana Olick

Call it what you want: a bailout, a subprime freeze plan, or government intervention. Whatever it is or becomes, a lot of you wrote in with your opinions on the Bush/Paulson mortgage "plan." Most of what you said, to state what may be obvious, was this idea pretty much "stinks." If I had to guess, I'd say the ratio of negative to positive emails was 30 to 1, and that's being conservative.

He is a total disaster.

I read a great article in Vanity Fair in 2000, called the Accidental President. It chronicled Bush's life. One point of the article was that Bush would have made a great Commissioner of baseball (his passion and obsession in life - baseball), but in business and politics, he always was a complete loser. He ruined anything he touched, but his family name/influence kept him in the game.

No doubt, he will go down as one of the worst presidents in US history.

I'll agree that Bush is an idiot. However, I don't think that discussions regarding the housing bubble are helped by thinking that the GOP will screw America and the Democrats won't. For the record, I'm beginning to think that Bush and the criticism around him are a sign of the times. The issues we are facing today have, quite frankly, been around for a VERY long time.

Look at the political problems of today. Here's some of them that are tossed around:
"Bush was illegally elected
"The US government is run by Wall street
"We're being pulled into the NAU"
"America started an illegal war in Iraq

There's many others I might have missed. Anyways, cronyism is nothing new in the USA. Ever since we wrote the Constitution there's been cronyism and self-serving politics all the way from the federal level down to the local school district. Go ahead and look at the political shenanigans in the 1800s for example.

What about our non-stop economic problems?
"Americans have no savings (hardly ever)
"We have too much government debt/credit card debt/etc..
"Jobs are being sent to China
"Our taxes are too high
"Congress is crushing the middle class

Or, how about the other frivilous issues we face?
"Gay marriage is evil/good
"Illegals are taking over the USA
"We're running out of oil
"Corporations are making crappy products
"Fast food is junk food

Like the political problems earlier, these issues have been a problem almost since day one. The people of 200 years ago would screw each other over on business deals just like today. Yes, we had all sorts of financial problems in 1807 just like today. People back then were complaining about taxes and Congress and all sorts of stupid money problems...just like today. Bush isn't screwing over America, this IS America. I'm not saying that because I want to call names, I say this because we need to stop what we've been doing all along. The real issue is not whether to impeach Bush or not; you can impeach him and Cheney and the whole Congress but that will not solve the problem. The real issue is our own personal freedom. DO we want to elect in new officials and have them screw everything up like now? Is our entire system maybe the problem? I think so.
