HousingPANIC Stupid Question of the Day

Are realtors on commission who join churches for the primary reason of finding their next 6% (oops, I mean "client") the worst ones out there?

Realtors are SCUM of the Earth, the MAGGOT of the slimy bug, so perhaps they were hoping to cheat GOD and go to church to show that they are the righteous religious people. I hope GOD does not get cheated by slimy bugs.

Yes.

No, the worst are the non-religious REALTORS who join churches to find their prey

Real estate agents need contacts to potential clients and join book clubs, tupperware parties and also churches. That was so and will stay so - it becomes evil if they prey on weak people who have sought refuge in a church and are trusting a church friend who is not concerned about their well-being.

You just described the state of Utah.

This is going to piss REALTORS off but they know its true

6. NOT CONTACTING YOUR SPHERE-This is the group of people that like you, trust you and want you to succeed. Your friends, family, neighbors, past co-workers, church members, club members. Real estate is a relationship business. People prefer to work with those that they have relationship with. Ask them to help you find business and ask them for business. People will want to help and will enjoy being a part of your success. Succeed through others.

So, what would Jesus do?

That's what Jesus would do!

Actually Lawyers (unlike realwhores) are held up to a cannon of ethics and such solicitations are inappropriate.

Realtwhores are spawn of satan so it does not surprise me that they are defiling God's house.

I wonder how many are still attending church services since the sales have dried up.

Speaking of scum.. There is an obnoxious lousy financial show on the radio in my area. They give out no real advice and they just hock their services. One compared the dot com hype 99' -01' to the negative chatter of how bad things are going on now. huh? These guys and their clients deserve to get a$$ raped by the market.

We all need to make a living, and realtor's are just trying to do that in any means they can.

Training for a new position takes time, and in the meantime there are bills to pay, so I can't say I blame them for doing what they can.

If people are still gullible enough to buy into a house, then they have only themselves to blame.

This is to be expected - more to come in the following months.

Being disciplined according to a canon of ethics is quite like being held up to a cannon.

I think, though, that the basic criticism is correct; merely joining a church with the intent to develop relationships that lead to business is not a discliplinary offense. Some lawyers, and many others (some dentists? some doctors? some insurance salespeople? some financial salespeople?) have been doing it for decades, if not centuries. Unfortunate, but true.

I suspect God objects to those who play games with his people. He is not mocked. But here on earth, the mere fact of having an entirely secular motive for joining a church is not a disciplinary offense.

I am hurt by all of the comments. I am a Realtor that entered into the market within the past year. Such generalizations about Realtors everywhere I read is beginning to be extremely sickening. I have nothing to do with the Market conditions nor do I plan on gambling with peoples livelyhoods. In turn, I have been able to help a few save their home. As a former Banker, I am able to understand all the financial lingo, know the bank's goal, place a call, and am happy to do so for any family. I spent hours being transfered around, placed on hold, disconnected, and finally..... negotiated "workout loan" terms and they get to keep their home of which produced NO PROFIT for me however, I sleep very well at night. (It costs banks more money to foreclose and a lot of lenders are willing to work with people to keep their losses to a minimum including lowering rates, etc. that the common consumer is not aware of.) In addition, I have negotiated very good terms for my clients and when the other side is not able to make things happen, I have been known to cut my commissions. In turn I have received a few referals, of which was not my motivation however placing myself and my 2 year old daughter in thier position was the motivation for offering to help. I am Chrisitan and have not been able to attend church on a constant basis because I am a single mother and have an outside part time job hoewever would hate to think that when I am able to return to church on a more on going basis, people are judging me for attending on the basis of the "possibility" of making an extra 6%. It bothers me that the public can judge this way. When I am asked what my profession is and I respond, I am often given the "aaaaahhhhh" response paired with a look of disgust. Please keep this in mind next time you talk to a Realtor, they just might have a heart.

What do you think church is? It's the greatest Ponzi of all. The bishops used to be tax collectors hundreds of years ago. You can take huge write-offs on your taxes by donating to churches. Or better yet, you can get receipts that show you donated money to churches even if you did not. It's just a huge Ponzi tax shelter. Anytime money & God occupy the same office, God has nothing to do with it.

Spent yesterday driving around to open houses and looking up listings online...

When I first looked at houses here in 2005 (Newport Coast section of Newport Beach, CA) you couldn't find a thing for under $1,000/sq ft and average price was around $1,100/sq ft. Now most listings are in the $600-700 range and a handful of prices are dropping to the $500/sq ft range ... and these are big beautiful McMansions in the immediate area where I currently live, which I love.

And it's just gonna get worse ... I can't wipe the big stupid grin off my face!!! :-)

Do the realtwhores and desperate homedebtors still wanna tell me I'm stupid for not "buying" at $1,100/foot when those same houses are now $600/foot???? And not even selling at that price?

Don't Christians want more people going to church? "Love the sinner, hate the sin"? Anyone willing to subject themselves to church deserves all the contacts they can get.

Ethics and lawyers?

Yeah right...

The reason I know about this is because my niece told me about all the different churches my brother inlaw took her and my nephew to groing up. Not only was it confusing to them, but being raised Catholic, my sister was angry about it.

In addition, for gifts and presents he would give her stolen goods that his clients used to pay him with.

Lawyers will do anything for money.

pkk (grandma)

Now wait a minute. For a licensed
year, I "was a realtor" in 77-78.
I sold one house, a nice little
house in very well maintained
condition to my brother. 31,500K.

I wanted a job with flexible hours
where I could earn a decent living
for my children. But alas, I'd been
a housewife living a rather isolated existence and had few
contacts and was rather shy at the
time. I didn't like other things
about the occupation(vestiges of
racial boundary attitudes), but
actually I worked for a decent
firm as realty's go, and as a
decent one, it went under. It was
obvious to me I didn't have the
wherewithal to support my family
by working one job while building
up a clientele, which meant I'd
never see my kids. So I waited
tables hours a day, wore myself
to a frazzle, learned to talk to
anyone, and went home to my kids
at the end of the shift. No social
standing, but bus fair and lunch
money in my kids pockets every day.

Here's a Realtard featured at the Hall of Shame:

CHRIS NUÑEZ: When I first started I made a flyer. And what I did, is I went to the churches and while they were at church, I put these on the windshields. And I would get a call from them and they would say, "You know, I was thinking about buying a house. And there was a flyer on my windshield. It was a sign from God."

DAVID BRANCACCIO: A sign from God…that Chris the real estate agent was ready for their business.

CHRIS NUÑEZ: Correct.

Ok, so here's a hypothetical question for when the market bottoms...

If you know that someone has their house for sale and is willing to pay the buyers agent 3%, how can an interested buyer purchase the house and pocket that 3%???

Can you write your own offer, submit it to the listing agent and in the offer specify that the 3% closing cost is to be paid to the buyer upon closing?

Also, how can you view the house without being represented by a broker?

Honey, you came to the wrong place for sympathy, sell your NAR brochure, or try appeal to emotion fallacy. Regarding that you are a single mother (???), are you still hot? You know our motto here at HP: If the real estate thing doesn't work, you can always try the pole.

Oh sure, the end justifies the means, right? So helping fraudsters to get Liar's Loans, getting inflated numbers from their crook appraisers to close the deal, and practicing the illegal act of cash backs are all fair game just because Realtors need to make a living. See this sh!t? When I say that we live in a third world country you guys still get upset.

Hey,

I'm a real estate professional and I find this post offensive. How dare you question my faith.

I attend church 3 times per week at the three largest churches in my small town. Everyone in town knows that I am a servent of GOD and that I always give 10% of my full commission to the church after deducting my business and living expenses.

Often folks ask me to give them a discount because we attend the same church. I tell them no, becuase I won't let them short-change GOD with my tithing.

... Ohh, so you want to know how much I gave the church in the past 5 years... well you see, despite my 6 digit commission income per year [not including 2007 as this year is sucking]; I suffered hugh living expenses due to my reckless lifesytle and all... See I'm a sinner and I need GOD's help because I'm weak when it comes to hookers and booze. It's GOD's fault he made me this way. When GOD fixes the market for me and I start getting my commissions back, well you know that I'll find something to stick in the collection plate then... But for now I think its time to go get some more beer, cause its been a long time since the phone rang with someone wanting to buy or sell real-estate you know.

The entire purpose of organized religion is to collect money from people. The only person who should be pissed off is the SS Panzer Pope since the realtors are skimming from the wallets of his sheep, leaving less left over to pay for his castle and to shut up reamed out altar boys.

I'm not a realtor but I used to go to churches to find virgins for my Satanic sacrifices. After a while, pickings got slim even there. Fortunately I discovered a new
