What happens when the "off balance sheet" "Structured Investment Vehicle" that is Wall Street's dumping ground for hiding all the losses for the toxic sub-prime slime is "Under capitalized" to meet all their funding obligations triggered by downgrades?

The sup-prime slime goes back onto the books of the IBs and they have to report the losses.

I presume this is the bomb that you're hinting at Keith and not the other events of today.

Yes, the FUSE has already been lit!

1) Financials will continue hemorrhaging. BB will do his best to save them. However, it's a lost cause. They're loosing blood faster than he can infuse them. There will be many more billions of dollars of losses claimed next two quarters.

2) Many financial institutions, hedge funds, insurance cos etc. downgraded to JUNK! More transparency please!

3) Many will file for bankruptcy protection... that will include Countryfried. Why would BofA acquire a company downgraded to JUNK with a penny stock value (projected). BofA will simply claim their investment in CW as a loss.

4) Our poor once mighty dollar will suffer throughout 2008. Other countries will do as we all suspect, pull out. They owe us anything. They can't stand GWB. There has been NO diplomatic effort on GWB's part in 7 years to warrant loyalty!

5) However, I predict that OUR U.S. dollar will rebound in 2009. When the NEW president removes (fires) BB from the Fed and replaces him with a solid economist that is committed to rebuilding this GREAT nation of ours and our currency! Mighty Mouse will come and save the day...

6) Unfortunately, we will have to continue suffering with the current INCOMPETANT, COMPLACENT & CORRUPT "Power's that Be" for another year! BUT, at least the END of this DARK tunnel is near...

I went to look at an REO listing this morning. Zillow says it's worth $480K, the bank foreclosed at $378K, and the RE agent has it listed for $339K. The place is a mess and I figure it will cost $40K to get it ready to rent.

The RE agent gives me all the usual bullsh_t about investment property, blah blah, and then says he's willing to kick back $5k of his $20K commission if I offer $329K. I looked at him and said the place will rent for $1k a month max, so I'd have to be crazy to offer more than $160K for it.

I saw fear in the man's eyes, then he regained his composure and sspewed more RE BS telling me the bank only wants serious offers. I wished him luck and left.

What do you think will happen if the U.S., under new leadership pulls the PLUG on importing your goods? Who do you think buys all of your crap (as you put it)? Bounty Program?

"San Francisco will begin issuing municipal identification cards to illegal immigrants next year, becoming the second city in the country to create such a program in the wake of stalled immigration reform efforts in Washington."

"This will recognize contributions of people who are part of the community," said Supervisor Tom Ammiano, who began developing the program this summer after Congress' inability to overhaul immigration.

The End of America in near if this is allowed to stand. Weigh in. DO something NOW.

I agree with all of your predictions with the exception of this one. Hillary (our next President) will turn to Bernanke to help us through the dollar crisis. As usual they will seek advice from the people that caused the problem. I just can't help but feel that this is just part of the central banker's grand plan. The only way number 5 comes true is if Ron Paul wins. I suspect he will be assassinated shortly after winning. Hell, they might kill him if he gets the nod from the GOP. From the Marketicker-thanks Pcapete and Sushihorn

ACA Capital’s $1 billion Lancer Funding II is the first CDO Squared to have an event of default.

The CDOs typcially held mezzanine tranches of MBS - think BBB and A charts on the ABX that have been linked here several times. THAT is what much of those portfolios consist of. If you take those tranches, the whole thing can't be worth more than 40 cents on the dollar - meaning EVERYTHING below AAA tranche within the CDO is worth zero. If you repeat the process in a CDO-squared, most of the mezzanine CDO tranches it holds already have an effective value of zero - so not even the AAA will be worth much.

He said "no one is buying any cars" and I replied the reason way because everyone couldnt borrow from their homes any longer and he agreed.

Scott McClellan TELLS ALL!!

THE BUSH-HITLER II BOMB! (#1,407)

Book Title:
What's Wrong With Washington.

Scott McClellan's new memoir, "What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and What's Wrong With Washington" is scheduled for release in April 2008 by New York-based Public Affairs Books.

McClellan, who followed Bush from Texas to the White House, was press secretary from July 2003 to April 2006.

"I stood at the White House briefing room podium for the better part of two weeks and publicly exonerated two of the senior most aides in the White House: Karl Rove and Scooter Libby,'' McClellan, 39, wrote. ``There was one problem. It was not true.''

McClellan wrote that he "unknowingly passed along false information. And five of the highest-ranking officials in the administration were involved in my doing so: Rove, Libby, the vice president, the president's chief of staff, and the president himself."

Here is the article:

If our elected officials in DC do not impeach these clowns IN DECEMBER OF 2007, in duty to protect the people of the United States of America, there is something VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY WRONG, BAD, CHILLING AND SMELLY WITH OUR ELECTED US OFFICIALS (AND NON-ELECTED OFFICIALS) IN DC!

Don't blame only the Americans for being greedy. There are many European scum, too:

After 2.5 years, Midtown 3 is still an empty lot

Matthew Sarelson’s client gave a $125,000 deposit at Midtown 3 in May 2005, but there’s still no start date.

French investment banker Christophe Beguinot had heard through the grapevine about Miami's amazing condo market. So, in May 2005, the London resident decided to invest in Midtown Miami, despite never having been to the city.

He purchased a condo in the planned Midtown 3 building for $625,000, putting down a $125,000 deposit.

Two and a half years later, Midtown 3 is a field being used as a parking lot for laborers. Beguinot's repeated requests for a refund have been unfulfilled and the investor has filed suit.

It's the latest chapter in the ongoing saga of Midtown Miami, a 4 million-square-foot mixed-use project widely respected for its innovation, design and retail components, but fraught with delays - and now lawsuits.

Of the eight proposed residential buildings, only Midtown 2 has been completed.

In a market where speculators are doing whatever they can to get out of contracts, Midtown's delays have proven a ripe ground for breach of contract suits. To date, 46 suits have been filed against Midtown Miami in state court, and four more have been filed in federal court.

Also, 40% of the American population don't have/can't afford health insurance, while 18% of the population live below poverty levels.

"Banking was conceived in iniquity and was born in sin. The Bankers own the earth. Take it away from them, but leave them the power to create deposits, and with the flick of the pen they will create enough deposits to buy it back again. However, take it away from them, and all the great fortunes like mine will disappear and they ought to disappear, for this would be a happier and better world to live in. But, if you wish to remain the slaves of Bankers and pay the cost of your own slavery, let them continue to create deposits."

you really don't have to declare bankruptcy over credit card debt. cc debt is unsecured. now they will try and make it secured by getting a judgement agains't you, but this is where you have to stand up and ask the simple question: where is the contract, or better yet, like some people in ohio told some bank idiots who were trying to foreclose on them, ......where are the papers???? they never have a case. never. and almost all the fake ass judgements they get happen when people remain silent while they should defend themselves....in law, silence can be construed as no defense...
