FLASH---> My reading of my Magic 8-ball ( I hope is right!!!)

January 21,2009 -- President Bloomberg just release his domestic agenda emergency action plan. less than 24 hrs after taking office. It includes:
* The creation of an US Army Foreign Legion Corps - whose job will be to absolve all illegal immigrants into it. The illegal immigrants can join for a 10 yr service plan, exiting as US Citizens or be deported.
* The Foreign Corps will work with the US Army Corps of Engineers in several areas. With The Dept of Energy in building 30+ Solar Power Stations in the western states Deserts, which will generate Electricity, Desalinate pumped in sea-water, and pipe out Hydrogen, in a bid to replace natural gas and switch them to Hydrogen power stations. With the HUD to rebuilt in a green way, abandoned and foreclosed real estate and provide the new housing units to local housing agencies for distribution to the needed. With the Dept of Transportation to acquire and rebuild an all high speed electrified railroad network, that not only would handled scheduled passenger and cargo, but the ability to have point to point computerized guidance -just like an internet packet data gets from A to B.

===End of Magic 8 ball report====

The above is what we need in a new PREZ anything else will probably be bull.

Just a report from the field in Virginia, had a new floor poured in the garage and got to talking to the concrete guy. He was waiting on a concrete truck and couldn't get one that day and had to wait till the next day. He was saying that the concrete trucks are super busy moving concrete to other jobs. Just drive around here and there is a ton of commercial building going on, not really sure what those people are thinking.

"contempt for people is at the root of this evil."

WTH? People with contempt for themselves and others is the root of evil fool. There is a reason why the French coined the term Petite bourgeoisie. Not because of Marx's usage of the term but because the French middle class had become like the US middle class - scum with too much money (credit). This post does not have contempt for the average slob who works hard, it has contempt for the Petite bourgeoisie who acts like the wealthy but who is not. and these Petite bourgeoisie screw up the future for the rest of us slobs who hard hard, try to save money, and invest our life earnings where ever we can protect it.

Man, I just don't get it. I read an article in the NY Times and they referenced a young single mother college student whose budget for Xmas is $1500. WTF?!? When I was growing up we didn't celebrate Xmas and I really missed partaking in the present orgy. SO we celebrate with the exchanging of materialistic grub, cause I find it fun. But in serious moderation. I spend 100 bucks for my 1 kid (on made in Germany non lead infused seriously well designed Playmobil), 10 bucks each for my husband and myself, and 70 bucks in total for the rest of my family: bottles of wine, books, cd's, joke gifts. Total less than $190. Nothing on credit. And it seems like plenty. I mean it feels fun and abundant. Where and how the hell this chick spends $1500 blows my mind.

Hey man don't knock the sales so fast. Last year I joined the sheep and bought a 42" LCD for $700. Same model goes for about $1100 today and was $1500 last year. I'll wait in line 4 hours to save $800...$200 an hour is worth it.

I was going to buy a new TV so the sale was great. What I think is retarded is people going to these sales and buying things only because they are on sale.

Enjoy watching the football games on your 13" b&w sets boys. Oh wait I forrgot you don't watch football, that's too American for you. OK enjoy watching the BBC bash America 24/7 then.

I mean really, how many of the people in that pic are paying for all that stuff with cash or a debit card ? Moi? Like the other poster, I also hate crowds , and I also hate the four letter word, "debt". My two younger sisters and I made a pact to give each other something sort of novel. That thing is called financial serenity. I.E. we buy each other nothing, nada for Christmas. We all have more important things to do with out money. One has kids to put through college and the other one just doesn't make that much. I have a 401K that I'd rather squirrel away money into. As for my 5 nephews, I just buy them savings bonds each year until they hit 18. Funny the bank lobby is very empty this time of year. No lines -:) . The only "things" I buy are for my parents. These are needs, not wants. I bought dad a new draw knife to replace the one that's going bad. I'm still waiting for mon to tell me what she needs. I'll just ask for jeans/shirts to replace the ones I have that have worn out. (They have holes and such). The end result is the whole family is gets through the holidays on cash.

I saw several people with big plasma screens, guitar hero, and other cheap elecronic gadgets. Only some deals and they were not that great of savings and seemed to be shit you dont need and only buy because its cheap. as Im loading the vaccuum in the car I notice "MADE IN CHINA" on the box and realize this is all plastic. At that point all I could think of is those 1970's hoover vaccuums mom used as a kid that were made of US STEEL IN AMERICA and lasted forever.

Well, I bought one of those GPS map things in Radio Shack for $150 with tax. It was $250 before tax up to this point.

They opened at 6 so I drove up at 8 minutes till. There were maybe 15 people in line in front of me but it was very civilized. Everyone went in single file. I got an associate and asked for exactly what I wanted. Three minutes later I am in my car driving home.

Well, with $5 gas to come within a few years I dunno how much use I will get out of this thing but it had been a long time since I bought a toy. Actually, you have a point.

People make stupid decisions sometimes. It's part of the human deal. Any smokers/former smokers in the audience?

This human tendency does not make them contemptible, or uniformly "AZZHATS" (whatever the heck that means), or a conglomeration of pustulent maggots deserving only of being incinerated in an abandoned Wal-Mart Supercenter.

It means they've made a mistake, a bad decision, hopefully one that neither I nor other HP'ers will make. I hate shopping anyway, so the folks in the picture can have those plasma-TV "bargains" for themselves. Now to turn to my day, which I hope will be productive and healthy.

Happy holidays, Republican "Christians":

Crucifixes allegedly made in Chinese sweatshops

NEW YORK (AP) -- A labor rights group alleged Tuesday that crucifixes sold in religious gift shops in the U.S. are produced under "horrific" conditions in a Chinese factory with more than 15-hour workdays and inadequate food.

"It's a throwback to the worst of the garment sweatshops 10, 20 years ago," said Charles Kernaghan, director of the National Labor Committee.

Kernaghan held a news conference in front of St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York to call attention to conditions at a factory in Dongguan, a southern Chinese city near Hong Kong, where he said crosses sold at the historic church and elsewhere are made.

Spokespeople for St. Patrick's and another New York landmark, the Episcopal Trinity Church at Wall Street, said the churches had removed dozens of crucifixes from their shops while they investigate the claims.

"I don't think they have a clue where these crucifixes were made -- in horrific work conditions," Kernaghan said.

Kernaghan said the factory's mostly young, female employees work from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. seven days a week and are paid 26 cents an hour with no sick days or vacation. Workers live in filthy dormitories and are fed a watery "slop," he said.

Kernaghan said factory workers took photos and smuggled out documents detailing practices there. While none of the crucifixes sold in New York were identified as made in China, they bore serial numbers matching products made at the factory in question, Kernaghan said.

I want to thank those who put on the uniform for their service. I applaud you for your good intentions. Unfortunately, our country has been co-opted by evil NWO corporatists. It would be too montrous to really know how they are manipulating the patriotism of good honest americans. Imagine if their evil doings were to see the light of day. The country would unravel immediately. We've been duped.

Would the cameras be following a boring average family around? You DummyCrats are such bores and idiots. Besides, why are such superior, intelligent beings doing watching Real Housewives? I refused to pay $1500 to have it come in the dash of the car from the factory and over $1000 for stand alones back in 00.

Learn to get a deal and try sending smoke signals cause it is cheaper than paying the phone company.

Keith,

I've been lonely for a really long time. Ever since I was 20 (1990) and I got my first credit card. I ALWAYS paid it off. Nobody told me to. My friends marvelled at tbe $800 I had sitting in my account back then (working part-time and going to San Diego State) and yes, I'm a good looking woman!
Is fiscal responsibility genetic or is it dysfunctional, like co-dependence? I am the only person I know who has their house paid off at 38.

But this country is heading down the wrong path.
Hp'ers hate stupidity, and government incompetance, together with this fraud that has been foisted appon us, called a economic miricle.
Wealth without work how novel.
I want my kids to grow up in a strong and free America like I did, and anything that puts that at risk I will loath.
Afghanistan was neccesary, Iraq was criminal, wealth in the early part of this century was real, aquired through manufacturg inovation and hard work.
Everyone in the world wanted a made in USA Caddilac, this new so called wealth is through fake asset appreciation, our manufacturing base is gone, we just trade houses like baseball cards.
This GOP is proven to be a failure, it was on their watch this happened, but come back next year when the Democrats have taken over, and see if find any love on this post, I guarantee you will find very little for the incomming socialists.
I dont hate America, I would lay down my life if it was needed, I just hate stupid people who are going to ruin a good thing.

In socialism, there are only busts. Why do you think the USSR collapsed? Why do you think North Korea is poorer than South Korea? Why do you think China dumped socialism? But most people who run such scheme are thugs. The rate is more like 10% per MONTH, and the operators make sure they get their collateral in time.

To Anon @ 6:17 AM: not that I support that kind of violence but we might see a new crediting scheme soon - Body Equity Withdrawal (BEW). A kidney gets you $15k at 10% p.a. the ten stages of a nation:

the first stage moves from bondage to spiritual faith. The second from spiritual faith to great courage. The third stage moves from great courage to liberty. The fourth stage moves from liberty to abundance. The fifth stage moves from abundance to selfishness. The sixth stage moves from selfishness to complacency. The seventh stage moves from complacency to apathy. The eighth stage moves from apathy to moral decay. The ninth stage moves from moral decay to dependence. And the tenth and last stage moves from dependence to bondage.

winston churchill said one time, that... "The one thing we have learned from history is that we don't learn from history." God , how true that is now. We just do not learn from history. We forget. We become lazy. We become what we used to hate in other nations. We are our own worst enemies...

I remember Xmas in France 15-20 years ago. Picture a two-story mall. Many small shops with the French equivalent of a super wall mart right in the middle. The parking garage is massive (two decks) and full. People are fighting for spots or making their own.

Inside the supermarket that constitutes the core of the building (actually they call them HYPERmarkets over there because they're so huge) there are 35 to 50 cash registers on each level and each has a line that is 5 or 6 carts deep.

Not quite the socialist utopia you America-haters had pictured uh?

A friend of mine and I installed a high end GPS in his car many years ago, then took a road trip.

the unit was kinda cool, but on long legs in the desert it was boring.

The unit also would tell you to exit the freeway at the exact point of the crossroads, which was to late.

the unit had way to many funtions of use, and this units operating manual was huge, thick and small print! You did not have that kind of time or comprehension of figuring it all out!

But, it would tell us the exact time we arrived....so did the cars clock and my cheap watch!

How will I be fumbling with a map when I said I just bought the GPS unit for $150? Explain this.

Maybe in 20 years you will learn to understand what you read.

Like the other guy said, I think you are really pissed that what you bought is obsolete and low tech now but like a total imbecile you had to have it when it was still being developed and the low feature models were made for more money.

I have to know if you are being foreclosed on as well cause you sound stupid enough to have signed an interest only loan with no fixed rate and closed on a house in the peak of the bubble's inflation at 3 times what it is really worth.

Not really, I'll be in one of the best tropical islands in the world, where I bought a house after selling my American condo at bubble's peak. To give you an idea, Michael Schumacher is there right now on vacation. The place is a paradise: Beautiful ladies (including supermodels) from all over the world, 42 white sand beaches around the island, great nightlife, excellent food, friendly people, scuba, sailing, kite surf, surf, etc. The island was chosen as top 10 most dynamic cities in the world by Newsweek.

As usual, I'll be there for a couple of months, while you enjoy the American meltdown. Keep spinning that hamster wheel hard because the GOP is not done yet with you, sheeple.

Actually, I am French and I can tell you that it's completely true. France has laws forbidding large supermarkets in downtown areas and in urban areas, but they thrive in undeveloped suburbs. If you go to your local little bakery, cheese store, fruit and vegetable store, etc., you pay about twice as much as if you get into your car and drive for 30 minutes to the nearest "hypermarket". Most of the people I know do their big weekly or bimonthly and holiday shopping at those monstrous places, and only buy what they have forgotten and their daily baguettes at the local stores. Since those hypermarkets are closed most Sundays by law, if you go there on Saturday it's a zoo, exactly like in that anonymous person's description. Some of those places: Carrefour, Mammouth, Centre Leclerc, Auchan.

If you have visited France as a tourist or even a student, you could stay in Paris proper for 6 months without realizing the existence of those gigantic shopping malls.
