Here it is! The Made in China (of course) Countrywide Toxic Mortgage Save Our House Employee Loyalty Bracelet

Blown Mortgage finds the goods.

Shouldn't these have been orange?

Do they make you turn in your bracelet after they lay you off?

Is Angelo wearing a bracelet or does it get in the way of his Rolex?

Gotta love that they were made in China. Toxic mortgages, toxic bracelets, and one hell of a toxic PR campaign by Countrywide. I hope they didn't pay for it.

You forgot to say toxic toys. Bet the bracelet has unsafe levels of Hg, Pb and Cd.

It looks like a flea collar. Tangelo is a good Nazi.

maybe this will start a tred ..the companies that are getting ready to Implode can all do these high class rubber bands.

i wish i had and Worldcom or Enron band.. i need to get started with some type of a hobby.. collecting rubber bands of imploded companies should be great.

ace,

I have a collection of Arthur Anderson golf stuff that is really neat-o (but I'm saving these so I can show my grandkids some day how a company *isn't run).

Even 3 decks of cards wouldn't cover all the imploded lenders.

I have some Looksmart.com martini glasses. . .got them at the IPO - too bad I didn't get a pets.com sock pupet. . .I'm going down to watch a few local SD Countrywide offices put up their "for rent" signs. . .heard they are consolidating their SD offices - with 12,000 fewer employees, they certainly don't need much space.

"Vile plan."

Why do you think so?

"thats part of the problem we have in the USA,, we cant even make a rubber band"

Sure we can make a rubber band. We'd just have to pay the factory workers $6 or whatever the minimum wage is. Why do that when we can pay 12 year olds 15 cents a day to produce the same product with the added benefit of them having to deal with all the pollution.

You can have one too if you are the successful bidder.

I should get that wristband and put it on my pets.com sock puppet as a dog collar.

I hope it has lead paint in it...

I wonder why they didn't choose orange?

Yes he said it. He also said it was a long long way down the road, and that CAFTA & NAFTA were the keys to making this happen. He & the Bush have had extensive discussions about this. Actually since U.S. money is being wire transferred to Mexico at billions a year by the illegals, and since Mexico is one of the richer nations in the world (yes they are even though their people live in poverty and misery), and since Mexico and Canada both have petroleum and we have nothing except Taco Bell it starts to sound better and better. I can't believe that they would actually want a debt ridden nation like us hanging around their necks like a big anchor, but so be it. I think it is a "given" that we would not be the leaders of this unification. Maybe our illegal servants will become our masters? My son in Toronto says that the Canadians are already labeling Americans fleeing to Canada as the "New Mexicans". What an upside down world it has become eh?

That would be Mozilo's fleshtone so you could no see it if he was wearing one.

Mozillo the Merciless should turn them into punishment collars. When his employees are obedient the collars are green. When the employees disobey then the collars turn red and inflict punishing pain.

All Hail Mozillo the Merciless!

This really is sick. The whole rubber wrist-band thing was started by Lance Armstrong's Livestrong as a cancer research and treatment fund-raising campaign. And now this sick f@*# has perverted it to serve his own self-aggrandizing ends. While he dumps company stock!!

Does it make anyone else want to wretch?? Getting gang-raped by a group of silver-backed gorillas is too good for this piece of trash.

It is like the old movie Logan's Run. When the band starts to blink red you know you time is up. Orangealo you must run for sanctuary run run run.

I just replaced the pic of my kids with a pic of this.

I had seen this in an article earlier. My first reaction was a throwback to an iron curtain work camp from decades ago.
How demoralizing for those remaining workers. And this came from the big PR firm? Do they really believe that this would work? Those poor remaining workers have to deal with the fallout of all of this. They are surely cracking the whip here. Stupid, stupid stupid in my humble opinion.

LOL the bid on ebay for this is now worth 8 times one share of CFC. Me thinks the moz man is behind this. Just when you think the orange one couldn't pull any more cons, he gets folks to pay 100 bucks for ...wristbands...PURE..FREAKING...GENIUS...YOU ROCK ANGELO.

Kieth,

My only question is...

If these bracelets were made in China, just how long have they been preparing this PR (or not so public) disaster?

Countrywide (CFC - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr - Rating) CEO Angelo Mozilo is feeling the heat.

Richard Moore, North Carolina's press-shy treasurer, asked the Securities and Exchange Commission to investigate Mozilo's insider selling spree. The CEO has netted $100 million this year alone dumping his Countrywide stock. Meanwhile, shareholders have seen the value of their investment tumble by $14 billion since February.

Moore is asking the SEC to look into changes Mozilo made to his pre-arranged stock-sale plan over the past year. Moore, who runs a pension fund that owns $9 million in Countrywide stock, says the changes conveniently enabled Mozilo to sell more stock just before news in the mortgage industry turned sour.

"As one of many investors who have felt the painful losses in Countrywide stock, I am outraged at his manipulation of the system and this abuse of shareholders," Moore wrote in the Oct. 8 letter. "The timing of these sales and the changes to the trading plans raise serious questions about whether this is mere coincidence."

Moore has tried raising serious questions with Countrywide before, to no avail. He said he sent the company's board a letter last month asking it to investigate Countrywide's internal executive compensation policies, among other matters. He says he received a "polite response" indicating the board saw no reason to act.

In contrast, Mozilo remains a man of action. Countrywide said last Friday that even with all the stock Mozilo sold over the last year, he still has some options he hasn't cashed in. He'll take care of that, Countrywide said, by selling stock at prices below the floor specified in the preset selling plan. Mozilo conceded that the stock "is currently under pressure," but indicated that other considerations loom larger.

"The upcoming sales are driven by rules within the 10b5-1 Plan that were established long ago," Mozilo said Friday, "and should in no way be viewed as any indication of my future outlook for Countrywide."

Here's betting he'll always view Countrywide as his personal piggybank.

RE: Countrywide loyalty bracelet...

So, the bracelet is green, after all.

The color of money.

How reassuring!

If this doesn't bring prosperity, nothing will.

Let the good times roll!

I'd like to revise my comment. Instead of saying "I hope they have lead paint in them." I'd like to change that to read "I hope they have orange lead paint in them, and that the Countrywide employees attempt to gnaw them off their wrist while sitting at their desks waiting for the phone to ring."

Anonymous said...

Didn't the Nazi's make people where "Flair" and when they refused they were taken out and shot?

Ironically, the loyalty bracelet appears to only be a one way deal. Employees must be loyal to CFC/Mozilo but CFC/Mozilo has the right to terminate any and all employees as he sees fit and he can dump all his stock while having it proped up w/ CFC cash reserves!! Adlof & his henchmen did the same thing only on a grander/more ruthless scale!!

Tangizilo is going to go down in flames. but now with a green bracelet that is worth a couple of 100 USD but discounted for current fiat currency weakness.

Here is the Q&A from Ebay for one of the Countrywide Wristbands... it is now at $180.00. Sad, so sad...

Questions from other members : Countrywide "PROTECT OUR HOUSE" Wrist Band
Question & Answer Answered On

Q: You are really serious? You know this is all over the company, don't you? I am also a CW employee and was really surprised to see this. I do agree with you that the only reason CW is being "targeted" is because they are the largest company. Good luck! Oct-12-07
A: :) Thanks!!
Q: "we must protect this house!!!!" Oct-12-07
A: I AGREE!! Although this has exploded into much more than I ever expected, one thing has become very evident to me through the many messages of support I have gotten from fellow employees. Countrywide is a family and although it's never fun to lose members of our family, we will continue to work hard so that Countrywide will come out of this stronger than before. Wrist bands may serve as a symbol, but the people are what will make us shine! Thanks to everyone who is sending their support!! And yes, I am kissing up just a little, but I honestly believe everything that I've typed! :)
Q: I work at Countrywide and I wish you the very best> Oct-12-07
A: Thank you!!
Q: Are you selling more than one? If so, we're out at the company and need more for the employees so we can show our support. Oct-12-07
A: No....I wish I had more, I would GIVE them to anyone who wanted to show support for CHL. I had no idea how many people wanted these. Thanks for the support!
