Here's Jon Stewart and the Daily Show video on subprime mortgage meltdown and housing crash and black people

Politically incorrect and I love it.

It gets even more convoluted. Here is an article on how Antiochs foreclosure rate is being hidden with conversion to section 8 rentals.

"Antioch’s high foreclosure rate having pushed owners who fear losing their homes to rent them to Section 8 tenants, some longtime Antioch residents resent seeing low-income Black newcomers living in fine homes."

Damn whitey!

that's funny

BUT

the daily show once again is using the subprime excuse, just like the rest of the MSM. As we all know subprime is a small component. The burtha with 550 FICO buying a $200K home with $0 down, 110% financing is actually less of a problem than whitey with a 720 FICO borrowing $800K with $0 down, 110% financing.

=================================

This happened in my old Las Vegas neighborhood. Up until mid 2005, practically 100% white. Then slowly blacks started moving in and by late 2006 when I sold I'd say a good 20-25% of the area was black. And I don't mean Dr. Huxtable black. I mean ghetto cars blasting gangsta music at 2:00am blacks.

Section 8 baby. Desperate investors willing to rent out to anyone with a pulse and neighborhood be damned.

I'm sure this is a phenomenon happening all over the country.

that guys is not black

Well, we can have a lot of fun with this and I get a kick out of John too. Afterall, this situation HAS become laughable!

But the pain is real. At first the MSM spin was that "this meltdown will hit minority communities the hardest".

Like a lot of people, for the longest time I actually believed that. I wish to retract that and now simply say; "This will hit minority communities FIRST!"

As the contagion spreads NO ONE will be spared (they'll just be able to hang in there a little longer!)

ROFL!!!!

That was funny as hell!

Man, this is so true. I used to never touch subprime for this very reason. The chimps applying for the loans were always borderline retarded, no matter how many times you explained some simple concept to them, they were still like "sheeeit, I don't need to know nuthin bout that , how mush its gonna cost a monfth"

I'm blacker than that guy, and I'm .07% black. Couldn't they get Wesley Snipes or some one legitimately black in there???

Anonymous said...

...how about when they used to ask, "how much is that monthly with the late fee"....

ROFLMAO!

He's not black, he's coffee with cream baby!

the system uses people like jon stewart to create comedy out of issues, that should not be funny. they do this because people are too stupid to understand that what they are talking about is real and that it is not really funny. but the joke is on you and i. and the system knows this. this particular show was started to make fun of us by making fun of what is happening. they make fun of the war. they make fun of the economy. they make fun of politics. etc. etc....but all the while, these things happen. things get worse....we get screwed again and again. we watch shows like this and we laugh. we laugh at ourselves being screwed around. we laugh at ourselves and what is happening to us. they use comedians like this to make us laugh at ourselves because they think we are funny. we are funny to them because most of us don't know really what is going on. most of us don't understand that a nation is dying and no one cares. we laugh at this man because we think he is funny. the joke is on us. we are a horrible reflection on what this nation has become...a bunch of bafoons. our founding fathers would surely be ashamed of us as men and ashamed of what we have become.

The irony is that just a few decades ago banks would "redline" african american neighborhoods and refuse to lend in those areas.

Today banks actually target african american neighborhoods to hawk loans that give them the largerest profits in terms of transaction fees.

Both represent extremes in lending practices based or rooted in discrimination. It must stop.

Get the NAACP involved and sue the hell out of those banks, its the only way that they will learn their lesson.

The Daily Show and HousingPANIC point out that greedy unethical scum mortgage brokers took advantage of black people and we're the KKK?

I think not.

The KKK would have been for the mortgage brokers in this fight, not the Daily Show or HousingPANIC.

We're looking out for people. We'll leave screwing people to the REIC, realtors, appraisers and mortgage brokers

I never understood how someone with a 105% LTV loan could be a victim of foreclosure. They were renting before, and they'll be renting afterwards. They would have never been able to afford the home except for the liar's loan and 2% teaser rate.

So what's the big deal? The big deal is that the banks are losing money and now the government must get involved to figure out how to get the taxpayers to share in the losses. Soon you will see idiotic naive liberals calling for a government bailout of debtors, not knowing that the bailout is really for the bankers.

How often people don't get irony and sarcasm. I'm not sure it's accurate to call that sketch "policitally incorrect". And that senior black correspondent actor is just right for the part of generic middle-class professional, except he didn't seem to have rehearsed his lines. Looked and sounded like he was reading a teleprompter.
Anon 9:54 - my take on this is that we need humor to make the point. Also, the more avenues for making the point, the better. There should be books, magazine articles, radio pieces, movies, political cartoons, and funny cable shows poking holes at those who power corrupts and highlighting where we're going wrong and how we can do better. Case in point: SiCKO. Why shouldn't there be a movie? And how great that Moore uses humor and theatrics to show our side (the ones getting ripped off) as human.

Already happening, especially in Massachusetts where our governor (Deval Patrick) was once chief executive of a subprime lender (Ameriquest).

Patrick is now involving the taxpayer in various foreclosure bailouts that will help both borrower and lender alike. And yes, it is sickening, thanks for asking.

Good stuff. It always cracks me up that people would pick up the phone and dial a mortgage broker after seeing one of those stupid commercials.

Wow, a little bit of humerous racial satire to illlustrate a serious problem and the bigotry begins!

Its not the KKK Keith, but c'mon man...this site is better than that.

Just goes to show that there are a ton of punk racists out there. They have plenty of balls posting online, but in real life, they pretend to be good people. I'd say at least 60 percent of white people fall into this segment. I have more respect for people who are openly racist then I do for cowards who only reveal themselves in secret.

Ahh man, this was great! We don't know of the exact stats but I'm sure there is truth within.

Oh I'm racist alright. I make no bones about it. If you come from Los Angeles and propogate that stupid black subculture, than get f'd. If you're from Santa Ana and promote that stupid subculture, than get f'd.

If you're a mainstream citizen [as it appears the black correspondant was] than welcome to my neighborhood, welcome to my grocery store, welcome to my barbeque.

Please realize that I hold this true for toothless sucks of any creed. If you're a Navajo and can't get main stream, kiss my ass.
If you're from Kentucky or Fontucky and waller in that waste pit of affected accent and greasy hair and welfare as a lifestyle, then kiss my ass.

I had a recent guest at my home. A prolific reader so I gave him some of my books. I gave him one that all he had to do was look at the title before he decided it would hold a place of prominence in his home as it did mine. The title; 'The societal obligation to be inteligent'. An old tome by a man named Erskine. {I may have title slightly wrong}

Affected lifestyles and accents make the affected the racists, we are simply reactionaries.

By the way, those that say cracker to us are tantamount to those that say distastefull things to you.
'cracker' is what white peoples hair smells like when it's wet. Some of us with all of our teeth know what you say ofay.
