WARNING: The US Government does not want you to see these numbers

Proceed at your own risk, as ignorance is bliss... And get ready...

Here's M3 Money Supply reconstructed. Yes, the M3 that the Fed stopped publishing last year. Why did they stop publishing it? You need to ask?

And here's inflation based on the components that used to measure inflation as recently as 1990, before the government decided to change things around to hide what was really happening.

Remember, they base benefits payouts and raises based on inflation, so it's in their (and our) best interests (to avoid going insolvent, raising taxes or printing more money) to keep the "official" inflation reading low, even though we all know damn well things are WAY more expensive now than they were a year or two ago. Watch for inflation to remain tame as rents plummet with the oversupply of housing and economy softening.

THANK-YOU...

I never understood how CPI inflation was tame when Kuwait dumped the USD due to inflation. India is increasing the Rupy to combat inflation, as before they were more or less pegged to the USD. There are more examples of inflation...

YET through all of this there is no inflation in the US? I did not buy it worth a damm, and yet I could not figure out what was happening.

So Thank-You for explaining what is going on...

Now everyone can see why the dollar is depreciating so fast. Imagine that! A Republican control of the White House and Congress devalues the dollar and calls it growth...

Things could change as the Dems oversee the first budget since the election. There may be hope for the dollar yet.

Please don't take my ignorance away!

The only thing that will save us is that everyone else is even worse off. The USA is the only industrialized country with above replacement birth rates. Why is this important? Most of Europe and Asia have rapidly aging and shrinking populations. This means more entitlement programs spending and much fewer people working to pay for it. Our Depression will end theirs will not. We are just going down first by a year at most, misery loves company.

Stop the stupidity already, OK? Have you learned ANYTHING? As long as Repubs or Dems oversee ANYTHING, we're truly f***ed. The political Status Quo in the USA is one of 3 things: (1) Repubs, (2) Dems, (3) Repubs & Dems.

Most of those births are to uneducated welfare queens and illegal immigrants. The average educated woman usually has two or fewer children.

The Fed says they did it to save $450,000 a year that it cost to calculate M3. The funny thing is that $450,000 would barely get you a run down crackhouse in Compton.

Keith,
Charts from shadowstats.com? That's where I go for all my one stop "how's the economy really doing?" needs. John Williams is great. It's a subscription site but well worth it.
DJIA will have to hit 14,000 just to break even with its Y2K peak in real Y2K dollars. Credit is sloshing around the markets in the form of $300 trillion in derivatives. The Shanghei index is running at a P/E of 44! Energy costs keep rising. Somethings gotta blow.
On the other hand, everything could work out just fine.

Got Gold?

Get it!

It's worked before

It will work again!

Yeah, the US is the only developed country that's overpopulating with Third Worlders. Great for us. Maybe in ten years, the menial work that is done by illegals here will (in Japan) be done by robots. Honda already has a robot that can jog. How much longer before it is able to clean toilets and pick fruit?

When will you people understand that overpopulation is not a good thing? Having a birth rate above replacement (due to the scum at the bottom of the gene pool crapping out unwanted/unneeded babies) is definitely a case of the "cure" being far far worse than the disease.

Problem paying for entitlements? Raise the eligibility age. Problem solved.

I see everything has gotten better now that the Dummcrats have taken over Congress.

Both parties really suck. For instance, the higher ups of both corrupt, incompetent, sold out political parties supported the treasonous amnesty bill. It takes a lot of corporate money to rise high in Uhh-merican politics these days so the President and Congressional leaders are representing Big Business, not the people.

"How much longer before it is able to clean toilets and pick fruit?"

Not much longer; it's already here. Wired Magazine has an article about American farmers funding engineers to create robots to replace migrant fruit-pickers. Here's the article:

We need ZERO population growth in the US to increase salaries, reduce infrastructure costs, lower taxes, etc. People who believe in population growth knows nothing about exponential power.

If you really believe that the Dems/Clinton balanced the budget then you shouldn't be allowed to vote.

the republican party is toast

M3 was discontinued in order to hide the activities of the President's Working Group, a.k.a. Plunge Protection Team. Spikes in M3 reveal their activity in manipulating the markets. I think the group was created by Regan, with an executive order, right after the 87 crash. This action, threw the idea of a free market in the trash.

The power of the presidency, and working group participants, was greatly increased by the president himself. However, the power of the president and the Working Group has been greatly eroded over the past 20 years. This is due to the increase in the credit derivatives market, which now has a notational value of 415 trillion dollars, which the Working Group has little control over.

That means full amnesty and welfare benefits for 12-20 million illegal aliens and another 60 million of their closest relatives in 2009. The only reason the amnesty bill was stopped was because nearly every Republican in the Senate voted against it. Learn how to speak Spanish and get used to the El Caminos sitting on the cinder blocks.
