Ha! So that's what that is. Many of the houses around here have a "Make Offer" sign.
However, I'm afraid the sellers would punch me out when I offer 50% so I'll have to wait awhile. I want the true gravity of the situation to sink in before I deliver the coup de grace.
I thought maybe one could test the waters by making an offer anonymously by email. That way if you offend the seller you can come back later when things are worse and they won't think, "This is the same butthead who tried to lowball me last month". People do irrational things when you insult them.

Sure, I do. Check these mui creative flippers in Miami coming up with a new excuse to get out of their f-d units: too many panhandlers around the hood. I checked public records and that building is full with resetting ARMs and flippers who bought units in 2005 and 2006. Oh man, it's going to be sooo ugly! I offer 50% of what it was "worth" last year
that house (i think) is in vienna va. my wife and i saw it yesterday. that general neighborhood has been turning over the past few years.
there are huge brand new 5000 sqft homes just down the street.
still alot of greater fools in the northern va area.

Agreed. And, do people not read or do any research before making a major purchase?
In any event, it probably won't sell- but if it does, there will be about 15-20 illegals living there.
Finally, they probably want 500-700K for that dump- I'd pay 50,000 for it.

It's already happening in the DC area. It's taken longer because of the heavy gov't spending, but NoVa is ripe for a serious housing downturn.

If there are really some nicer houses around I would offer just the lot value minus the cost of tearing down the house, which is not worth anything.
