realtors ask God to bring back the housing bubble & big commission checks. Wouldn't Satan be a more sympathetic ear?

You can't make this stuff up. And yes, I do feel sorry for the few honest, ethical real estate clerks who are losing their careers because of the greed, corruption and lies of their peers.

But come on, a realtor prayer breakfast, to appeal to the supreme architect of the universe for higher home prices and soaring realtor commissions? Do they actually believe God would be in favor of the housing bubble?

"God, please bring back the housing bubble. Please sucker homedebtors into toxic loans. Please put more home flipping shows on TV. Please make all the bad media and blogs go away. Please make people work two or three jobs to afford a home. Please confuse the masses into thinking real estate only goes up. Please allow Lawrence Yun's lies to pass for the truth. Please have congress write more laws to aid their corrupt REIC masters. Please let China suppress our interest rates. Please let an illegal low-wage labor force stream across our border. Please keep federal and state regulators clueless as to our corruption. And please make people think it's a good idea to pay us 6% of the selling price for doing squat"

How about this - instead of appealing for the big commissions to return, how about a prayer for the millions of families losing their homes because of realtor lies and distortion? How about a prayer for the millions of people in the homebuilding industry who'll go unemployed because greedy money-hungry realtors gamed the system for short term gain?

What the realtors don't realize is that if they want the housing bubble and their money flow to return, they're wasting their time appealing to God. The Church of Satan would be a better bet.

And remember, jesus was a carpenter (definitely not a realtor)

Realtors attend worship service to pray for better market

DESTIN — More than 300 people with a keen interest in the Emerald Coast’s real estate market gathered Wednesday at Destiny Worship Center to ask for God’s blessing.

The Real Estate Prayer Luncheon was organized in hopes of breathing life and positive thinking into the area’s slumping housing market.

It was the first of what the organizers — co-owner of Crye Leike Coastal Realty Wanda Duke, former Destin City Councilman Mel Ponder and Destiny Worship Center Pastor Steve Vaggalis — hope will become a regular, uplifting event.

“The heartbeat of today’s economic community is on the backs of the real estate community,” Ponder told the crowd.

“We need to think positively and get everyone on the same page,” Duke said. “Positive things that come out of your mouth will end with positive results. If we lose hope, we lose everything.”

The luncheon ended with Vaggalis inviting all Realtors present to come to the front of the church auditorium for a special prayer directed toward them.

“We are helpless people turning to a helpful God,” Vaggalis said. “That’s what this luncheon is all about.”

Without 6% they were nothing. They built a house of straw. The thundering machines sputtered and stopped. Their leaders talked and talked and talked. But nothing could stem the avalanche. Their world crumbled. The cities exploded. A whirlwind of looting, a firestorm of fear. Men began to feed on men.

On the roads it was a white line nightmare. Only those mobile enough to scavenge, brutal enough to pillage would survive. The gangs took over the highways, ready to wage war for a tank of juice. And in this maelstrom of decay, ordinary men were battered and smashed.

Except for one man armed with an AK-47, and a Honda full of silver.

Dr. Samuel Johnson once said that patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel. In this case I would say the same thing of prayer.

Interestingly, Johnson also said "Hope is itself a species of happiness, and, perhaps, the chief happiness which this world affords: but, like all other pleasures immoderately enjoyed, the excesses of hope must be expiated by pain; and expectations improperly indulged must end in disappointment."

Realtors' immoderately enjoyed hope for the continuation of unearned commissions must be expiated by pain.

I understand prayers, but praying for a return to predatory lending, loose credit that the sheeple don't even understand, and a return of to the state of greed from fear seems to be a real stretch. Calling upon God for these prior conditions is plain wrong and misplaced. They should be praying for the lives of families ruined by trusting their realtor into financing that was in the interest of everyone but the buyer. Ditto for the rest of the real estate cabal.

Satan's greatest accomplishment is convincing the masses that he doesn't exist.

Satan is also a master at transforming himself into an angel of light.

Realtwhores saw this light and followed it over a cliff.

Ivy League grads deep in debt are going to scare the hell out of everyone. They're going to rob drug dealers who will be shocked at the amount of desperation in their eyes.

A Honda full of silver? Got to stop sometime & sleep too. They'll clog your tailpipe with some rags and aphixiate you.

When these real estate agents bought houses, they are like rich people who keep the best for themselves (lol). Did they give toxic or suicide loans to themselves or only the people they represent. Are they losing homes in the same qaunities as the people they sold houses to and for. Did they know what they were doing was wrong and made sure they didn't do it to themselves. They also received the commission so my work bible says they were paid for their labor (little as it was) they made sure selling a house on your own was virtually against the law. They made paperwork like filling your 1040 with some exotic deductions. Better have paperwork to back that up.

When I purchased my house I couldn't even have a car note to make sure I fell within the income to loan ratio. I had to put 25,000 down (93) to buy my house and it was a fixer upper. There used to be a thing called a starter home, what ever happened to that. You know 2 beds and a bath. In some neighborhoods they cost as much, if not more, as a 2500 sq newer home now.

Did anyone see the piece on CNN about the woman in Geogia who is in foreclosure, a company came and threw all her belongs in the front yard, which was basicly dirt. She tried not to cry, so hard. She lived there 17 years and refied after losing her job in 2005 now after all this time later she is losing her house (sorry: lost). Her house was apprasied at 350K during the height of the frenzy and some ASSHOLE looked at her today and all the stuff scattered around then the neighborhood and immediately declared it was fraud, and it wasn't worth more than 100,000. Yeah well it is now not then. Move that house and property with the trees to California along with smiley faces and it would have been listed for 750 grand. Jerk. He was a real estate agent and that would have been his listing price.

Instead of praying for a recovery. They ought to be praying that they are forgiven for their sins and become real estate agents in Soweto or one of the multitude of shanty towns across the world. Maybe they will get a little more insight into how housing is not an over the top money making con but a real value to the economy the stablity of a country and the wellbeing of it's citizens.

I still say that guy on CNN was an ASSHOLE because he was probably one of the ones who spurred on this fiasco and now he is trying to absolve his duplicity by saying she should have never gotten such a big loan. ASSHOLE ASSHOLE ASSHOLE

May all the people who spurred on this scheme be front line generals in Hell singing out the cadence to the underlings to keep shoveling coal to keep the fires down there well stoked. And the Devil himself hitting them with a whip everytime they slow down or get tired. Assholes.

I'm a christian and let me say that,

Christianity is not about higher home prices, enriching ourselves off others, and supporting a system that promotes and encourage free individuals to become debt-serfs.

Christianity is about Jesus Christ's death on the cross and resurrection to bring salvation and freedom to me, to you, and to the rest of humanity. I accepted His work so I'm free and I love it.

These Realtwhores have prostituted themselves for the almighty dollar and the illusion of "freedom" and "wine and cheese" life style.

What an ignorant statement. The only thing that counts in the real world is REVENUE, and revenue is UP under the Bush tax cuts. Revenue always goes DOWN when taxes are increased.

Higher taxes = lower GDP = lower revenue
Lower taxes = higher GDP = higher revenue

For example:
30% of 200 is more revenue than 40% of 100.

Only morons, losers and deadbeats want high taxes. The more taxes government takes in, the more they will waste. Tens of billions of tax dollars go missing each year into a black hole. Hundreds of billions are spent on lifetime welfare losers, enabling them to breed more losers like roaches. Tens of billions are spent on corporate welfare and international aid while we are $9 trillion in debt.

Just so you know, I agree completely, but then you go off on the liberals. Perhaps if you looked up the word liberal at dictionary.com, you just might be shocked at the meaning; furthermore, JFYI, recent lib. presidents didn't run up those huge deficits like the pukes did. When Nixon took the US off the international gold standard,in 1971 the flood gates opened up, and history has the worse deficit perpetrators as 1) Bush 2 by leaps and bounds
2)Reagan 3) bush 1 4) Clinton.

As a fact the bush regime has nearly doubled the national debt since he has been in office, and yet he is still called a 'conservative'. LOL, think of it these terms, most liberals are really conservative, and most conservatives are just plain stupid and greedy, and that is not a good combo pack.
