HousingPANIC Stupid Question of the Day

Do you think ignorant ramen eating realtors are finally coming to the conclusion that no, it's not going to get better soon and yes, a housing crash that will cause them to eventually seek new employment is now firmly underway?

One of the strangest things about real estate clerk and NAR behavior these past few months is their shouting that everything is fine, and that prices will go up.

If they had been smart, and wanted to keep up commissions, transactions and credibility, they would have been doing exactly the opposite - shouting that we had a stupid unsustainable bubble, and that prices were coming down - so that they'd drop fast, to the point that buyers would come back into the market quickly.

But alas, realtors are dumb and undereducated, and they just don't understand supply and demand and pricing. Too bad.

Chicken flavor ramen anyone?

GOP:

We need amnesty for illegals (scab workers) because the construction industry can't lay them off fast enough right now and we need more cheap labor.

lol.

ludicrous at face value.

I was at a friend's house two weekends ago for a BBQ. His parents were there as well. His mother is a real estate agent. Nice woman but jezuz fucking christ she's delusional. I mentioned to her that I am renting - 2800 sq ft home with a pool for $1500 that would cost $475K to buy - and waiting for prices to fall some more before buying. She went straight into the throwing my money away on rent, tax deduction, bulding equity, now is a great time to buy speech.

It's my friend's BBQ and I wasn't about to start a fight with his mother. So I politely listened for 5 minutes and said yeah you have some valid points and left it at that.

So to answer your question are realtors getting it...not even close.

This country will soon be flooded with unemployed illegal aliens. To keep them from going home, the wealthy elite and the government want to give them amnesty as soon as possible, before the problem becomes painfully apparent. Their plan; to keep the market flooded with cheep labor, which will drive American wages down even further. Treasonous traitors should be shot.

Democrats:

We need amnesty for illegals so we get more peasants voting for ever increased government spending. 15 million illegals turned into 15 million Democratic voters.

lol.

ludicrous at face value.

I'll buy that house @ 225K at todays interest rate. Givent rental numbers like those anyone buying at 450K is smoking crack.

I have a neighbor like that. Nice lady, but she's ass-backwards on the rent vs. buy thing. She's one of those super frugal people who is always clipping coupons, etc., and is firmly brainwashed that renting is "Throwing money away" even though my rent is less than half of what my mortgage would be if I "bought" this same house.

She chastised me for driving a luxury car while I rent. ??? The way I see it, since I'm paying $3,500 to rent a house that would cost me $8,000 to "buy" I think "buying" is the real money-waster.

If I want to throw away an additional $4,500/month I'll do it at the strip club or in Vegas where at least I'll have some fun with my money!!

I talked with my dad about this the other day; I suggested that Realtors are helping to keep prices inflated because they are after the higher commissions associated with higher valuations. My dad disagreed; he said that Realtors should be more concerned with numbers of sales than with valustions. I knew he was right.

I still think that Realtors are attempting to keep the bubble inflated, but as this post suggests, that is rather paradoxical, as a deflation of the bubble would increase the number of transactions. As it stands, transaction volume slows and slows. Dumbass Realtors.

LOL!
GOP the last six years sets all time records on budget deficits, trade deficits and total debt for the country.

GOP spends like drunken sailors the last six years and sets records on borrowing and spending. It whines against new taxes, then creates a defacto tax called interest payments paid to our Chinese owners.

Then GOP claims its against taxes, burdens the next generation with crushing debt and interest payments, and then claims it has 'family values'.

Why won't today's dead beat GOPers pay their own bills (pay-go) instead of sticking it to the next generation?

Why won't they admit massive interest payments ARE taxes?

I have not talked to any Realtors but I did talk to a woman who runs a part-time kitchen remodel business out of her house. Lately her backlog of waiting customers has dried up and she is looking for another job.

Keep in mind that Realtors are not completely free to set prices. The owner of the house is the one holding the line. I Realtor will not get the business if they recommend a market price that is too low. Often they know that the owner will just end up following the market down and selling at a lower price than they could get today. That's what the previous owner did when I bought my house at the end of the last crash in 92.

For the democrats:

FACT: 2000 to 2006 there was no amnesty bill passed.

In 2007 it is looking more and more like amnesty will pass.

Now class, what is different betwee 2000-2006 and 2007?

Think real hard now, oh yeah DEMOCRATS are in power in 2007.

Case closed.

I noticed partisian, ideological kool-aid drinkers like yourself and Hannity can never justify or focus on what your own party is doing.

Just attack the other guys non stop. And claim your own fellow citizens, liberal Democratic party members are a bigger threat to the USA than Bin Ladin or anyone else.

What's the REAL, the KEY difference between 2000-2006 and 2007?

Bush has only 18 months left to push for Shamnesty for his corporate masters.

Case fixed. Case closed.

My drinking buddies and I theorize the natural progression of 90 percent of real estate professionals to be "Hooters Girl" to "Stripper" to "Realtor". At least the ladies can go back to a respectable profession stripping. What's poor Greg Swan to do? Try to be a nice guy and tip his wife an extra $20 for the lap dance.
