Immigration Deal Would Grant Amnesty to Parents, Spouses and Children
Six conservative senators are demanding that Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R.-Ky.) negotiate a “full and open debate” on the immigration legislation.
Senate Democrats and Republicans are working feverishly with the White House to put the finishing touches on an immigration proposal that could be announced later today or tomorrow.
The deal would give illegal aliens living in the United States amnesty, according to confidential sources. It would also allow illegal aliens to bring their parents, spouses and children into the United States.
Multiple sources on Capitol Hill with knowledge of the proposal said Sen. Teddy Kennedy (D.-Mass.) has been able to extract significant concessions from Republicans. The critical part of the deal is a lengthy section that spells out the provisions related to “Z” visas -- or what my sources described as the “Amnesty Title” of the bill. The “Z” visas would be broken down into three categories as follows:
Z-1 -- Illegal alien present and working in the United States up to January 1, 2007 Z-2 -- Parents and spouses of illegal aliens qualifying under the Z-1 category Z-3 -- Children of illegal aliens qualifying under the Z-1 category
One section of the proposal grants these “Z” non-immigrants four-year visas for an indefinite period of time. These visas would be given to people not currently in the United States if they are related to a current illegal worker.

Sources indicate that these aliens, along with their dependents, would be allowed to legally remain in the United States under certain conditions for an indefinite period of time, even if they chose not to pursue the so called “pathway to citizenship.”

That's great. They should give these rights to Illegals, because currently legal aliens, green card holders and citizens dont have these rights. Talk about political clout. Foreign born legal US citizens and green card holders (permanent residents) cannot bring their foreign born parents or spouses or children to the US other than as visitors in 3 month visas.

The government knows that a mass round up and deportation of all of the Latin people here illegally will crash the social securiy system and deflate asset bubbles at an even greater pace than we are experiencing today. It would cost a lot in tax revenues and sales. I know that those folks put a strain on the State level welfare systems but from the Federal viewpoint, they don't really care about those issues. They are going to put all kinds of different faces on the problem but i.m.h.o., that is why we've had a Federal government so lax about enforcing immigration policy. SS money comes in via all those landscaping and construction jobs on fake numbers and the Feds have known for a long time they won't have to pay out to those folks. Think of it as an auto insurance policy taken out by someone who doesn't own a car or drives, premium payments come in but claims never go out. It's a good deal for the recipiant.

Prediction: With Mexicans all coming to USA, Mexico will become vacant in the next five years. Mexico will then import peoples from the rest of Latin America to fill its void. They in turn will all migrate north, to El Norte, aka Estados Unidos. Eventually, everyone from Latin America, all 420 million of them, will end up in Los Angeles and this will create the next housing crisis, and then we begin all over again with the next housing bubble.

Any American who needs to be protected from competition from unskilled workers by the government deserves what's coming to them. No, there IS NO SHORTAGE of US scientists and engineers. Wages are stagnating, and many people leave the profession (permanently) every year, often involuntarily. There is enormous age discrimination and companies frequently fire natives and replace same jobs with H1-Bs---because the H1B's are indentured servants and can't complain about abusive working conditions.
Why aren't they letting in infinite number of lawyers? Physicians? Nurses? There is obviously a nurse shortage. And with all the CEO pay going like crazy why aren't we letting in thousands of Indian MBA's?
PS: my wife is a legal immigrant from South America and went through all the expense and difficulty of doing everything by the rules. Not one dime from government services EVER. She loathes the idea of amnesty for illegals. "Why did I bother doing things legally?"

WASHINGTON - Key senators in both parties announced agreement with the White House Thursday on an immigration overhaul that would grant quick legal status to millions of illegal immigrants already in the U.S. and fortify the border.

This is no different than the French bringing in tons of younger people from their former colonies in North Africa to support an ageing native French population. My opinion is that had we not had such liberal abortion policies during the past 30+ years in this country or at least scaling back the retirement promises made for an aging population (or a combination of the two), we might have been able to avoid allowing a mass illegal immigration problem to occur while looking the other way.

Hmm, ok the more I learn, and the more I think about it I might be able to support it. Yes, it does provide a way for illegal immigrants to become legal, BUT they have to pay fines and back taxes, which can only be a good thing for the budget deficit. IF they really seal up the borders for good, hell build a wall if that is what it takes, then no more illegals enter the USA. If the issue of amnesty stops us from doing anything at all, the problem will just get worse and worse. It still sticks in my craw that illegal aliens, whose first act on American soil was to violate the law, will get a chance at "Amnesty", then I guess I am for it. This plan seems to be the best of many evils.

The ultimate response among Americans will be to mimic how Latin American whites handle diversity. They don't move away, they don't offer welfare, they don't pay taxes. Ethics are not a strong point, but they aren't victims.
If the intention of amnesty and open borders is to improve the tolerance level of those awful white Americans the results will be disappointing.
