12 millions illegals in the US? Says who?

Why does everyone believe the government and MSM when they laughably tell you that there are 12 million illegals in the US?

Anyone ever counted them?

Wouldn't we all be surprised (and sickened) to find out there's 20 million? 30 million? 50 million?

That's the issue with illegals - we just don't know. Why? Because they're here illegally! We don't even know who the F they are!
Where's the outrage HP'ers? Where's the rule of law? And at what point did the reporting profession become as big a joke as the realtor profession?

""You gringos are just tresspassing on Aztlan anyway.

An advocate of this is Jose Angel Gutierrez.... look up interviews on google.... here is one excerpt:

--------------------------------

Gutierrez said

"We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him."

Later, Gutierrez told The San Antonio Express and News (April 11th, 1969) that the term “Gringo” referred to a bigoted and racist individual or institution. And “kill” just meant the elimination of the political, economic and social foundation of “the Gringo.”

Oh, well—that’s OK then!

Bottom line - Gutierrez wants gringos out of Texas.

Here are excerpts from an interview in 2000:

Q: “If the main goal (of the old Chicano movement) then was to reclaim Aztlan and control all the institutions of civil society, what is the main goal now?”

GUTIERREZ’ answer: “I think it is still the same thing. You hear the Hispanic Republicans talk about the same thing. … this idea has even been co-opted by the Republicans. ….The Hispanic Democrats and Mexican-American Democrats and Tejano Democrats, synonymous in Texas, they are doing the same thing….. ”

Q: “How are Mexican immigrants of today different from Mexican immigrants of decades ago?”

GUTIERREZ:” They are different in one salient aspect…they are keeping their Mexicanness. ..The Mexicanos that are coming today, even though they are political refugees and migrants returning to their homeland, are keeping their Mexicanness ... They are recreating Mexico here. I think they are doing it because of the sheer numbers. …”

(Fort Worth Star Telegram, October 18th, 2000)

Quite so. Isn’t that just what we’ve been saying here at VDARE.com? The interview continues:

Q: What is irredentism [ethnic nationalism], and what evidence do you see that it is happening?

Gutierrez:” The evidence is their display of their Mexicanness. …These folks now are engaged in active political activity in the U.S. which is unprecedented. They are truly binational citizens. It's not uncommon to see undocumented Mexicans protesting in front of INS in downtown Dallas. ….They have also now gotten dual citizenship. … [The] Chicano generation…only wanted to carve out half of [19th-century Mexico]…. These folks want it all. They want to recreate all of Mexico and join all of Mexico into one. And they are going to do that, even if it's just demographically… They are going to have political sovereignty over the Southwest and many parts of the Midwest. ”"

THE PROBLEM IS that while some of them come here to work, many of them come here to WORK THE SYSTEM.

This nation, the last beacon of liberty and freedom, is slowly dying out.

Mexico is filthy corrupt place, and the ologarchs of Mexico are sending the USA their serfs...their peasants.

Amnesty of Illegals will create a peasant class of serfs in the USA that will decimate the middle class and reinforce the oligarchy that is rising int the USA.

That is why the elites want amnesty... it weakens their only contenders...the middle class. It also gives their corps more mouths to feed McFood and Walmart crap.

I don't know if that is worse, the treason of within, or the fact that many of the illegal alien groups are headed up by Communist organizations and Mexican Supremisists.

They are all gettting away with it because of our shill media that is in cahoots with the conspirators.

State GOP Disappointed by Kyl-Negotiated Immigration Plan
May 22nd, 2007 @ 7:59am by Doug Ramsey/KTAR

Republican party members are upset with the immigration reform plan negotiated by Senator Jon Kyl and supported by Senator John McCain.

Party Chairman Randy Pullen says the bill is clearly a plan for amnesty. "My reading of the bill indicates it's still 90 percent what Ted Kennedy wants and maybe 10 percent what Republicans want."

He's disappointed that the plan would allow all 12 million illegal immigrants to remain, whether they've been here a month or 10 years. "It clearly provides to all those that are here the ability to stay in this country permanently, but not only that but bring in their wives and immediate family. That's clearly amnesty."

He says the Republican party has received hundreds of calls and e-mails questioning the judgment of Senators Kyl and McCain for their support of the measure. "I've had people walking in the door, ripping up their Republican registration cards and throwing them on the floor."

It kind of reminds me about the debate when they were passing the Medicare drug prescription bill. They kept saying it would only cost $10 billion, but once the bill passed it turned out that this legislation cost us $1 trillion plus!!

Just imagine how many illegals there will be in this country after they pass amnesty, I'm guessing 50 million.

Keith, we are all Americans, and the Dems and Reps have devided us.

You need to face the facts and come clean on this.. .look at the cloture vote the other day.. .nearly every Dem is leaning in favor of Amnesty. About 20 Benedict Arnold Reps are joining the 45+ Benedict Arnold Dems.

Look, you voted Dems in november... how's the war.. still at war.

Major Dems are making money off the war also.. .namely Diane Fienstein... her hubby Mr Blum is making millions off of it thru corps.

The only one against the war from the start was RON PAUL.

keep the blog going and encourage other bloggers to out wit the bullsh';t shill MSM.

The most damaging thing to this country is in this order:

1.MSM
2.Senate Traitors
3. Illegals/reconquista
4. Bogus fiat dollar and inflation
5. the War.

45. 'Tearrorism' according to BushCo.

Here we go again. These Racist Mexican supremacists want everyone to remember "history" and make us believe California belongs to them. Well, okay, then, first things first. NUMBER 1: Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed by both countries, USA and Mexico, granting western territories to USA. Check your history books! Okay? Fair Enough? OH! What's that I hear? You say it was an unfair treaty. A treaty signed by duress? Okay then, so you believe California and the West should go to the people who were there first. Okay, then, point NUMBER TWO: GUESS what PUTO, these lands were first inhabited by the RED skins not the BROWN skins. DID you ever hear of The CHUMASH tribe? They had been living in Southern California for thousands of years, way before any racist Mexican supremacists set foot in California. The AZTECS inhabited a territory way down south, near present day Mexico City. So enough said, and quit harping about La Raza (the race): that sounds like Nazi crap, believing your race is better than other races. And yes, AZTLAN does exist: it is a shithole called TIJUANA.

Don't blame the Dems? Um they do control both houses of congress do they not? If every Dem voted against this there would be no amnesty. If this passes it is 100% on the shoulders of Dems.

I'm 100% against the mainstream Dems on immigration - they're wrong. Dead wrong.

I'm 100% against the GOP turncoats (McCain, Kyl, etc) to are working with the Dems on this one. They're wrong, dead wrong.

I'm 100% for Ron Paul. He's right. 100% right. And I think Americans will begin to see this if the MSM lets them.

http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul269.html

More and more of my constituents are asking me when Congress will address the problem of illegal immigration. The public correctly perceives that neither political party has the courage to do what is necessary to prevent further erosion of both our border security and our national identity. As a result, immigration may be the sleeper issue that decides the 2008 presidential election.

The problem of illegal immigration will not be solved easily, but we can start by recognizing that the overwhelming majority of Americans – including immigrants – want immigration reduced, not expanded.

Amnesty for illegal immigrants is not the answer. Millions of people who broke the law by entering, staying, and working in our country illegally should not be rewarded with a visa. Why should lawbreakers obtain a free pass, while those seeking to immigrate legally face years of paperwork and long waits for a visa?

What I want to know is, will someone here legally get the same "Path to citizenship", or will they get the shaft on this aswell. What happened to legal immigrants back in 1986, anyone know?

There could be 100 million

well , we gringos have some work to do soon , if this problem is fixed peacefully....

Unknown said...

How about this: we are going to issue the visa's based on how long they have been here living here illegally.

I'm thinking this is going to be a lot like how the "Stated Income" (Liar Loans) loans work.

The Government official will ask "How long have you lived here for?"

Illegal:"Why does it matter?"

Government Official: "Because we have to send you back if it’s less than 1 year and if its 5 years you get more benefits."

Illegal:"Put me down for Cinco years then."

Every 4 years we vote the rascals out, democrat to repub and back... makes us feel better and nothing ever changes. We get:
- bigger government
- more taxes
- more control

We voted the rascals out in Congress in 2006... And nothing changed at all.

Our Founding Fathers would have revolted against DC years ago. The Feds were NEVER SUPPOSED TO HAVE THIS KIND OF POWER.

Everyone who was physically in the country in 1986 got the citizenship. They estimated it would be just less than 1 million that would qualify when they passed it however, over 3 million got citizenship under that plan (3 times the number they thought). If you applied for Citizenship in your own country and where waiting for your visa legally you got shafted. If you were here on vacation you got Citizenship if you applied, many cases of this took place.

Supporters of the Amnesty plan in 1986 called it “the one and only Amnesty law” congress said they would never do it again and that the enforcement provisions would be strictly enforced from now on. I guess Bush, Clinton and Bush never got the memo that they needed to enforce our immigration laws. I hope no one is stupid enough to think this will be any different.

What is so hard about this?

They broke the law and should be deported. Again, it is not that difficult, just fine each employer and or landlord $10,000 per instance of employing and/or providing housing to an illegal and give a $2,000 bounty to anyone that reports the abuse. The illegals will all be found in a matter of days and the government can then use the remaining proceeds to build a concrete wall- 20 feet above and 20 feet below the ground. Problem solved.

And, F*ck all the business people and property owners that will cry foul because they don't give a sh*t about this country anyway.

The guy holding up that sign is typical criminal behavior....when you are doing something wrong, point out that somebody else is doing something wrong. If you want to look really stupid, point out something that cannot possibly be reversed.

This behavior is also reflective of war-mongering dictators. Saddam Hussein used a similar excuse for invading Kuwait, claiming that Kuwait used to be part of Iraq, but was cut off due to British imperialism in the early 1900's.

I'm doing my part to fight illegal immigration: I now maintain my own lawn and yard, clean my own house, cars and windows, and maintain my own pool. I've been going to Home Depot (now that it's so dead LOL), and learned some basic fixer-upper skills for patching walls, painting, doors, staining, basic plumbing, etc. I grow a garden and enjoy the fruits of it. Since so many illegals work in restaurants and fast foods, I've limited my eating out to twice a month.

I used to think that spending my money locally was helping the local economy. But then I realized that my spending actually is 'encouraging' more illegals to come over here and steal American jobs. Even though I am semi-retired, debt-free with tons of money in the bank, and could afford to pay for all these services, it actually feels good to do these things myself. Screw my rich, pompous neighbors if they think I've lost my mind when I'm out there washing my own windows--they need to realize that they are contributing to this immigration problem too!

Mexicans like the Chinese have a 300 year plan, not the 'till payday' plan we ususally have.Does your average Jose know of this plan, no. Does your average Joe know of our government or churches long term plan? no.

They'll take back the land, the chinese will own 30% of the homes in the US. GOOD FOR THEM.

Though using the indians as as an example of who was here first is a little silly. Everyone knows it was who was civilized and here first. Can you imagine if we had given reservation land to Mexicans, or the Japanese, or the Blacks. Wholly cow, they'd own this joint in a generation and a half. So let's compare intellect and manifest destiny, to each other and leave the 4th world [entirely their choice] out of the prognosys.
Do I hate the untidy in the bunch? You betcha. Am I going to profit from this. Absolutely.

I'm not whining, I figure every way I can capitalize on this, is a way they cannot. Get yours, participate, or get out. I don't care where you were born. Play or get off the court.

AND THE OIL GRAB CONTINUES!!!!

Ok ...so you say what the f$#K does oil have to do with immigration...

well sit down laddy and listen to this little story...

Once upon a time there was an oil field named Cantarell. It was found in Mexico...it is the world's second largest oil field only second to the mighty Ghawar in KSA.

Well one day a dip shit stuck a dip stick down the hole and whadda ya know...Cantarell is declining...and not just declining at a mere 2-4% a year...noooooooooooooooooooooo...it's declining 15% a year for the past three years and is expected to decline 25% this year...

Well - the good ol US of K gets 15% of our daily SUV juice from Mexico AND more than 70% of Mexico's economy is based on revenues from the sale of oil.

Cantarell is dieing and will be on its last leg in under 3 years.

Now back to immigrants...guess where poor people are gonna flock as the Mexico economy tanks and tanks hard...

You got it bro!!!

The good ol US of K.

The end.

Oh did I mention corn and the whole ethanol thingy..

A story for another day.

Enjoy the die off.

okay: why did companies so willingly start packaging items with one side of box in spanish and one in english (never done in any other language) why did employers make knowing spanish a job requirement, why do our kids have to learn spanish to graduate from high school, how is it that bill richardson (i think that is his name) is hispanic, sounds clearly anglo to me (trying to sneak into office using an american name)how is it anything newly named in california and in a lot cities have a tendency to be of a spanish flair, (i saw one today at work I said there is no city named xyz these people are trying to rename cities into spanish names (kicked it back no such city) allowed alot intercity building and now they have a society of their own where they simply don't interact with "Gringo's" and look at you crazy if you don't let them cut in front of you in the store because I guess that's the rule in mexico. they stand on street corners selling fruit and in thier community they cook right on the street have cut fruit and flies where's the health department some people died once because they were making cheese in their back yard. it is starting to look like tiajuana i am surprised they don't stand at street lights and run to your car when the light turns red. you all are failing to see that these politicians hire these people, politicians don't have to compete with the people for jobs(or their kids) politicians live in area's where none of them bought the house next door and you have to listen to spanish all day. politicians don't shop at the discount stores in middle class neighborhoods where you can really see the volumne. so truth be told politicians really don't give a damn about you. I always say if the us goverment wanted to keep them out they could, if they can people in jail for fifty years, they could have kept them out. they didn't want to. they wanted these people in to work because they don't pay into social security so they won't get it when they come of age, but the nation keeps churning along as if everything is okay. the government wants something for nothing. ask yourself a few questions. Have you ever hired a mexican to mow your lawn or do any kind of lawn work and then slipped them some money and did you report it to the IRS. NO. Did you need some work done on your house and you picked up a few of them in front of home depot and slipped them some money and then report it to the IRS. NO. Did you have Maria come in and clean your house and slip her some money and then report it to the IRS. NO. Did they paint your house, put in cement, rebuild or build a fence. Have these people done anything for you and you know they are illegal. Hell you two can't even communicate. Did you realize after 6 months they did a shitty job on whatever you hired them for. They lied when they said they could do it. I say there are more than 50 million because the companies wouldn't be so keen on wooing their business so they must be profitable. They are at the grocery store with all those kids to feed. Everyone knows the government lies like a rug on the floor, why would you believe them now when they say 12 million, there are more than 12 million in california alone. If the government finally tells the truth and tells you that there are more mexicans than white people and there are 300 million people in the us now that ought to tell you there are at least 150 million of em if not more. Quit giving away your country write your congressman, senators and anyone else and tell them you will vote for Lyndon Larushe if they vote to let even one be legal and send then their asses back a hundred times if necesary until they know the us is not playing. most people won't they will just give it lip service and keep Jose mowing the lawn every saturday at 40 dollars a pop. And that bullshit about wanting a good life for thier family I am so tired of hearing that I could just scream. There are doctors, lawyers, politicians, dentist, architecs, engineers, scientist, military generals, police and everything else we have here right there in good ole mexico. And just like Americans not all of us are in those jobs and the people here want a good life for their kids too. So that is straight bullshit. They just want to come over here because they can make more money here doing the same lousy jobs than they make doing the same job in mexico. If it were true they wanted a better life why did they bring mexico here and start selling fruit on street corner. They too want something for nothing because if they didn't they would have started learning english the day they got here. Wise up they want your country and your money.

There are now 100 million "minorities", or one third of the US population. The amnesty bill will assure that that percent rises to 50% in the next 5 to 10 years. After that, hispanics will have a critical mass, will be filling local and national political office and soon spanish will be the official language and the border will disappear. Of course the wealthy and the powerful will still call the shots and we will be serfs.

The voice of ignorance speaks:

"Don't blame the Dems? Um they do control both houses of congress do they not? If every Dem voted against this there would be no amnesty. If this passes it is 100% on the shoulders of Dems."

You obviously need a crash course in how the political system works in this country. Bills don't become law just because they're passed by congress, not that you can understand that.

I guess you think it's 100% democrat's fault because republican John Kyl worked with Kennedy on the bill, eh?

Interesting approach there, if there's republicans involved in bad legislation, blame it on the democrats. There's plenty of blame to go around on both parties, not that you have the ability to understand that.

On the topic of illegals, we will have them always (even after an amnesty) because of the social services that are provided to people who are illegal. They will keep coming here in mass numbers unless all social services and anchor baby rules are changed.

I recently went to Canada for a few weeks and did not see a single day laborer or just riff raff on the streets. The white construction workers were the first ones I had seen since the early 1980s. The Italian and Polish people generally do the construction jobs that illegals do here in the states. I suppose they actually enforce their laws there and you can not get jack squat if you are illegaly in the country.

The amnesty proposal is the end of America. It has provisions for chain immigration so the 12 million (which is probably between 30-40 million in reality) can bring up to 11 relatives after 4 years from the day they get their citizenship. That does not factor in all of the babies they will have made from the day they came here illegally to the day they got amnesty.

In one generation over 100 million people will be added to the population and 84% of them will be Mexicans. So, if you have a US that is between 25-35% Mexican do you have the USA or Mexico-lite?

The DNC/GOP are two sides of the same coin of treason and criminality. The politicans' goal is to crush the middle class and create a nation where very few (top 5%) hold 99% of the wealth and there is a huge population of uneducated and labor class citizens who have a life goal of getting laid and having a hot fast food meal a few times a week. This allows the criminals in Congress to pretty much do what they want without question.

No wall or even placing the entire US military on the border will work. Cut entitlement programs and eliminate the anchor baby feature to fix this problem.

This new immigration bill will bankrupt the U.S. When you figure the 12 million and each have 4 family members you come up with 48 million. Most of them don't even have a high school diploma.

The 48 million "new" americans will make a below average salary, and contribute marginally to our society. How many gardeners and dish washers do we need? Have you met any illegal alien physicians, rocket scientists, or dentist? I don't think so! What about drug dealing gang bangers? Then, because of affirmative action they will be given everything, and our kids will be left out. I have seen it here in California. Mexicans can be the biggest racists, and they will discriminate against the natives. If this bill passes kiss our country good-bye. I'll pack up my bags, and take my money some place else. Let the illegals do my job!

I can't believe they protest and wave the Mexican flag! They aren't legally here. If we did that in Mexico we would be in prison and deported.

If you read most of the blogs out there most people are confused and or just stupid about this. There are two main arguments:compassion (be nice they deserve a break the come from poor countries) and the "they do jobs Americans will not do. If you examine the facts or just are able to think you realize theat both are nonsense. The question to put to the supporters is this: How many is enought? If 12 million is good why not 50 million. Gee they all contribute so much hell lets get some 124 million in right away!!! Of course the low caliber of the debate and opposition is dusgusting. Me? U.S. citizen living abroad who is all to happy to renounce my U.S. citizenship--its a joke and my "countrymen (or now Country Vatos) are a sad lot who get screwed without any kissing. What is going to happen. Well from what the supporters claim all of these semi literate low skilled immmigrants are going to produce the next generation of technology geniuses and all well be right.....HA! Its done guys, its all done with. 20 years from now the %50 of kids under 5 who are "latino" will be running the show, or at lest the 20% of them who finish high school.....future is dark and u.s citizenship will be worth very little.........

Here's what Harry Reid has to say about the matter:

“I have serious concerns about some aspects of this proposal, including the structure of its temporary-worker program and undue limitations on family immigration. We need to improve the bill as it moves through the legislative process.”

In other words he's not happy with the situation either, he wants more.

I don't know how the Democratic pro working American, for the little guy (American citizen that is), union supporting party can take a stand like this, which drives down wages for everyone (except Bush and Cheney's friends).

Maybe he figures Americans don't need wages, they've got credit cards.

When the U.S. gets it's finger out of the business of 90% of the world and stops exploiting the wealth and labor of other countries maybe the people from those countries will stop trying to come here.

Exactly what rightful claim do white Europeans have to the southwest anyway? A treaty? Last I checked the Americans violated just about every treaty ever signed with the indigenous people here.

If you want to enforce the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo then go back and enforce all the other treaties.

A few ideas:

1. With so much intermarriage between Hispanos and Anglos, in several hundred years everyone in North and South America will be a bit brown-skinned, a bit Asian and a bit black. Get used to that idea. With the historical tendency towards larger and larger politiacl units, Canada, the USA and Mexico at the least will be one great nation. If that's true, then all this anxiety about immigration is merely a pimple on the back of an elephant. A bit annoying, but insignificant.

2. Mexico has problems with corruption within its democracy because drugs are illegal here and Americans want to snort cocaine and meth. Who's problem is that???

3. Many Mexican families are religious Catholics (or other religions) and are trying to be true Christians in the best sense of that word. With them here, we might be less materialistic, more family oriented, kinder and bottom line happier. Having a mixture of our two cultures can leave both much better off, believe it or not. Of course there are bad and good people in all cultures.

4. Mexicans value democracy and most of them also want to clean up politics. There are racist Mexicans and Mexican gangsters, but I feel that most Mexicans here want to live simply and came here to work, not with some bizarre ideas like the re-conquista that may be the province of a few.

I'm against ILLEGAL immigrants because of one thing and one thing only - they're ILLEGAL.

I'm very much for LEGAL immigration. Want to come to the US? Apply, tell us why you'd be a good addition to our country, get documented, fingerprinted and photographed, get in line, wait your turn, then come on in.

We are a country (were a country) of law and order. We no longer are - people are flaunting our laws and we've lost any order.

And it's time we either change, or we'll never recover.

I am for evicting any and all illegal immigrants. Any and all. As soon as possible.

I am for significant border security, asap

I am for millions and millions of legal immigrant visas. As many as we'll need for the jobs we'll need to fill.

I'm against any taxpayer support for any illegal.

I'm for "guest workers" paying taxes (vs. illegals not paying taxes)

I'm against birthright citizenship

I'm for significant fines for any employer who hires an illegal.

And I'm for kicking out every damn member of Congress who is corrupted or wrong on this issue

Now it's 90% mexican, 2% white and the rest black and etc. I don't want to live around people all just like myself but If I wanted to live in another country i'd move there. So I did have to move from where I was raised because the mexicans have taken over. That is the truth. And all you idiots who keep posting about how they do all the shit jobs need to open your eye's. There the owners of companies and there kids are becoming educated and taking all the white collar jobs because whitey is fat and lazy for the most part. America as we new it is gone. I'm pissed because I hate soccer. It's over. Get yours or be poor in a changing country where the only thing that counts is money. All these companies will trade you in for a Indian IT person or a Mexican foreman, or an asian engineer, arab doctor.

DOH!!! You Spoke too quick there Keith.

I am for millions and millions of legal immigrant visas. As many as we'll need for the jobs we'll need to fill.

Wow like one visa per every single illegal in the country right now? Sure, Congress is more than happy to grant your wish.

You saw Roy Becks video on immigration. We need to reduce immigration to sane levels. "millions and millions" is a good way to drown this country. Besides who is going to determine the jobs we'll need to fill? Congress? The Backstabbers? WHAT THEY DO?, THEY SMILE IN YOUR FACE.

less materialistic?? oh man that's a good one. Take a ride down one of the "family friendly" hispanic religious neighborhoods sometime (I suggest daytime only). Then count the number of pimped up Escalades you see. You know those non-materialistic $60K SUVs with $20K worth of stereo in them and $10K worth of wheels. Yes indeed very spartan like lifestyles these people lead.

keith if you are for all that then you should have voted for a different party in 2006. For all their faults republicans in Congress (House of Reps) were consistent in not backing down on illegal immigration. Bush and about 1/2 the GOP Senate should be impeached for treason on this matter. But the GOP in the House was the only political body willing to stand up. You voted them out and replaced them with Nancy Pelosi in the leadership. You voted out a group that in 2005 voted to make being illegal a felony. You voted in a group headed by Nancy Pelosi who yesterday said she is against this bill because it would be too hard on the illegals.

Sorry dude you have nobody to blame but yourself. You had a hissy fit because Tom Delay took a gold trip to Russia. You had a hissy fit because Foley sent some IMs. And this is the result. You made your bed...

Keith, "what you are for" post makes a lot sense. But let's move from theory to practice...how exactly are we to transition between 12 or 20 million illegals to 10 million legal immigrants?

NOT EASY, think about resources and the effects of that type of labor moving in and out.

If mexico wants the land back, I suggest they make an offer to congress for the current market value of the land plus expenses to move everyone out of there taht doesn't feel like becoming a mexican.

David said: A few ideas...

I don't agree with David but at least he makes his points intelligently.

The merging of the U.S., Candada and Mexico into a free trade zone via the SPP is not in the best interest of Americans. Free trade has been a boon to corporations, but there is no evidence that such a merger would be anything more for American workers than a leveling down of wages and benefits (Thomas Friedman's "flat earth").
Intermarriage and cultural diffusion is not an argument for allowing the loss of our national sovereignty to some supranational structure. We already have a president who would love to be a dictator (the ultimate "decider"). Our freedoms as Americans could only be eroded by the displacement of our Constitution as the ultimate arbiter of government power as it is replaced by some super trade agreement. This is not a "pimple on an elephants back." This is an elephant trampling through America's living room.
As far as the cultural virtues of the Latino are concerned, I'm not so impressed. I should know since I'm a Latino and teach in inner city Latino communities. Latino's are no more Christian than anyone else I've ever met, and are no more ethical or have no more integrity than the next gringo on the street. And it is not true that Mexicans view this land as American but just want to work here. It is ingrained in our culture that the "gringo" stole this land and that we should squeeze whatever we can out of the "gringos" and their government.
Finally, this boils down to an economic issue. There are currently around 15 - 20 million illegal immigrants in this country. Legalize them, and within a generation there will be between 60- 80 million ( 3 to 5 kids per family). Our governemnt is already going broke per David Walker the comptroller of the U.S. How are we going to support an extra 60 - 80 million poorly educated, unskilled Latino immigrants. I guess our current government intends to tax the middle class into oblivion.

They turned beautiful and resource-rich Mexico into a steaming pile of manure. What do you think they will do to America? Unlike the past generations of immigrants, these people have no desire to assimilate. Their desire is to turn America into an extension of Mexico. If you've ever been to Mexico (outside tourist areas) you know that it's worse than Detroit or any slum or trailer park in America.

"Exactly what rightful claim do white Europeans have to the southwest anyway? A treaty? Last I checked the Americans violated just about every treaty ever signed with the indigenous people here.

If you want to enforce the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo then go back and enforce all the other treaties."

May 24, 2007 4:30 AM

-----------------------------------

First of all, Bill, learn how to use your computer; your first post had no content.

Secondly, what do you mean by “white Europeans?” Do you mean Caucasian European nationals, or do you mean white people of European descent (perhaps as opposed to black people of European descent)?

Third, we are talking about nation states here. This is not kindergarten. Sovereignties do not have to “play fair” and treat everyone nicely, and only hold territories over which they have a “rightful claim”. Who gets to decide the criteria for a rightful claim? The U.N.? The Central Powers? The Hanseatic League? Thomas Hobbes? You? Or does the first group to populate a given area have a rightful claim over it?

Don’t be naïve. The United States have the Southwest because they took it by force of arms, not because it was fair. That’s the way the world works. Always has, always will, despite the fantasy of one-worlders like you.

When a nation stops acting in its own self-interest, and tries to play fair, that will spell its death.

This nation is dying the same way the Roman Empire died. With an effete, lazy, complacent, unfertile populace, and with a virulent force of barbarians infiltrating our meaningless borders.

Anyone who votes for this measure should be dragged into the streets and tarred and feathered.

You're a pansy, Bill.

That guy holding the sign is an idiot and a hyprocrit. By that use of logic, Americans AND Mexicans should leave and give tha land back to the now all but extinct native Americans. Either that or he is proposing a border war between the USA and Mexico, on that Mexico would surely lose. Mexico and the US already fought a war in 1846 and Mexico lost.
Spoils of war my friend. Spoils of unjust war. So the answer is yes, if you are an illegal immigrant then you are encroaching USA territory illegally.

Actually, you're wrong. Intermarriage with minority groups happens primarily when they are a small percentage of the population. When they become a large chunk of the population, intermarriage goes DOWN because the minority groups now find people in their own group to marry rather than having to find a white person who will look past the racial barrier.

And I think this is a good thing. Personally, I think it would be rather boring if everybody had dark hair and brown eyes.

AN UNDERESTIMATED THREAT

by

Nikos Karanikos

Since the collapse of "existing socialism," Greece acquired the unenviable record of becoming the destination of choice for hundreds of thousands of illegal Albanian immigrants.

Currently, it is estimated that Greece is host to a minimum 500,000 permanent Albanian illegal aliens and another 200,000, who come and go across the border according to whim.

As a group, Albanians attract little public sympathy and are widely considered as harboring hardened criminals, who decisively contribute to rising crime in Greece.

While the law enforcement problems linked to the Albanian mafia are hardly unimportant, the raucous raised by human rights professionals, and the generally meek disposition of the Simitis government on the enormous problem of illegal immigration, have both contributed to obscuring another, generally underestimated, threat connected to the presence of half a million Albanians in Greece: potential "ethnic" demands and armed violence of the kind presently disintegrating FYR Macedonia

Half Of Fort Dix Terrorist Plotters Were Illegal Aliens

Half of the suspects are illegal aliens and they are all foreign born.

Q: Who are the suspects?

A: They are men in their 20s. All are Muslims born outside the United States and four are ethnic Albanian. Five live in New Jersey and one in Philadelphia. One is a U.S. citizen, two are legal residents and three are in the country illegally. They have had jobs installing roofs, working as clerks at stores and driving taxis. Some of the men have wives and children.

Why weren't they satisfied to live in the land of opportunity and work at jobs?

The neoconservatives and assorted deluded liberals in the Clinton Administration believed that if we sided with the Muslim Albanians and against the Orthodox Christian Serbs over Kosovo that our doing so would make Muslims all over the world more favorably disposed toward the United States. So the US came down on the side of the Albanians and painted the Serbs as vicious killers. But pro-Muslim US policy in the Balkans did not sway these Albanian Muslims to love America.

Becoming Illegal
(Actual letter from an Iowa resident and sent to his senator)

The Honorable Tom Harkin
731 Hart Senate Office Building
Phone (202) 224 3254
Washington DC, 20510

Dear Senator Harkin,
As a native Iowan and excellent customer of the Internal Revenue
Service, I am writing to ask for your assistance. I have contacted
the Department of Homeland Security in an effort to determine the process
for becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you.

My primary reason for wishing to change my status from U.S. Citizen
to illegal alien stems from the bill which was recently passed by the
Senate and for which you voted. If my understanding of this bill's
provisions is accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United
States for five years, all I need to do to become a citizen is to pay a
$2,000 fine and inco me taxes for three of the last five years. I know a
good deal when I see one and I am anxious to get the process started before
everyone figures i t out.
Simply put, those of us who have been here legally have had to pay
taxes every year so I'm excited about the prospect of avoiding two years of
taxes in return for paying a $2,000 fine. Is there any way that I can
apply to be illegal retroactively? This would yield an excellent result for
me and my family because we paid heavy taxes in 2004 and 2005.

Additionally, as an illegal alien I could begin using the local
emergency room as my primary health care provider. Once I have stopped
paying premiums for medical insurance, my accountant figures I could save
almost $10,000 a year.

Another benefit in gaining illegal status would be that my daughter
would receive preferential treatment relative to her law school
applications, as well as "in-state" tuition rates for many col leges
throughout the United States for my son.

Lastly, I understand that illegal status would relieve me of the
burden of renewing my driver's license and making those burdensome car
insurance premiums. This is very important to me given that I still have
college age children driving my car.

If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become
illegal (retroactively if possible) and copies of the necessary forms, I
would be most appreciative.
Thank you for your assistance.

Your Loyal Constituent,
Donald Ruppert

Sent this to my Senator and Representatives...Not that it will do any good...

I am writing that I might implore you to vote against any bill that might grant legal immigration status to anyone, I repeat anyone, who has broken our sovereign republic’s laws by entering our country illegally.

There are innumerable reasons why I am against passage of the bill recently proposed to grant illegal aliens the same basic rights we, and countless others, who have come to our great nation legally, enjoy. I think that this is sending the wrong message to all those that are seeking citizenship via legal means. And what message to we send our children by rewarding those who have already broken our laws.

I would like enlighten you regarding Mexican immigration law, as compared with the proposed immigration bill that has recently been introduced - and that I fear may well be passed - if not voted down by our elected members of Congress.

Mexican immigration law only grants non-citizens legal status if the person if fully capable of providing for him, or herself, as well as all dependents under their care - from monies generated outside of Mexico. Non-citizens are not allowed to work any job that a Mexican citizen is capable of working. This basically means that no one can move to Mexico, get a standard job, and live there without being independently wealthy, or without the capital to start a business that will be a benefit to the Mexican people. Only after living there legally for five years, under the above terms, and after many other terms are met, can a person apply for citizenship and hope for it to be granted. Even if your spouse is a Mexican by birth, or naturalization, you still cannot hold a job that could be done by a Mexican, until you gain your own Mexican citizenship. And by the way, Mexico doesn’t take in felons, persons with communicable diseases, indigents, unskilled labor, or anyone that would be a burden on their society. This is also what seems to be the status quo for most other countries around the world. And by the way, I agree with them!

Now compare that with the proposed legislation that certain members of Congress have introduced and I’d say that the American people are getting the shaft.

With that said, I’d like to expand a bit on my own position on immigration policy. I am not opposed to anyone coming to the United States who has a genuine interest in becoming a productive citizen, who assimilates to our customs, and who is a benefit to our country. And I am not opposed to granting people from other countries the right to come to America if they are a benefit to our country, and if their country of origin extends the same open arms policy for our citizens to enjoy.

I’d also like to suggest that our illegal immigration problem would not be of the magnitude that it is, if it were not for the fact that we extend free social services, welfare, education, medical care, etc., to everyone who comes here, whether here legally, or not. And lets face facts, we also wouldn’t have this problem if we’d get our own citizens off of “welfare” and we put them on “workfare”. If the money spigot is turned off - and the people here illegally do not have Uncle Sam handing out a free lunch, they will leave. We will not have to waste money and resources deporting them. And if business proprietors were prosecuted for knowingly hiring illegal(s) they would also find Americans to fill the positions. And if every American was made to work - that are capable of working - then we’d have no need to import cheap unskilled labor.

Lastly, I don’t buy into the argument that the illegal(s) are only doing jobs that Americans don’t want. And they are cheap labor which translates to cheaper prices for consumers. In fact, they are sending billions of dollars to their countries of origin - thus supporting foreign economies - not ours! It’s bad enough that we’re on an uneven playing field with China given their dirt cheap labor! Even if American business were forced to pay more for labor, due to a lack of illegal foreign workers, our economy (American business and Govt revenue) would be more than compensated when American dollars were repatriated back to the good ole’ USA.

In closing, I certainly appreciate you lending me the time to express my feelings regarding this important issue. And would also like to extend my deepest gratitude for your service to this country. I know that your labors are not easy. And remember, your labors will shape generations to come.

Sure, it's the Democrat's fault.

Please, Republican Baby Boomer freaks and red necks alike, why don't you all die so the planet can live in peace without ignorant people like you? Please, do the educated part of the US (those who have degrees and carry the country on their backs = the blue states) a favor and just die. Better yet, enlist and go fight in Iraq, bunch of cowards. No excuse cowards, just go fight in Iraq. No coward excuse that you can support the troops from far away and this and that. That's a coward's excuse.

You all should start studying Spanish because Bush is going to give, what's become worthless now, an American citizenship to 20 million of illegals, who are going to become 40 million in a few years, and who will vote a Hispanic corrupt and ignorant like you into every public office in the country. Don't look now, but we're becoming Roman.

History is replete with Empires that eventually got over-run demographically by barbarians (in our case, people coming from Mexico).

History is also replete with Republics that eventually became Empires when the wealthy and the military gained too much influence in government. (Bush, Cheny, Congress, our Supreme Court & Attorney General-need I say more?)

The middle class of "honest hard working and independent farmers" was destroyed by concentration of land ownership (American farm families now replaced with highly indebted, government dependent, wussies and Yahoos.) That process started with FDR and the "New Deal" back in the 1930s. In India, China and Mexico it's still "sink or swim" and no-one looks to government to bail them out. Families are tighter because they don't depend on government.

The "trappings of democracy" in Rome were kept for many years even though the reality had changed completely (supposed separation of powers in the U.S. when in fact all branches of government are nowhighly influenced by big multi-national corporations and the rich). Augustus Caeser talked the "Republican" talk but didn't walk he walk so as not to alarm the citizens. With large multi-national corporations and the "military-industrial complex" in the U.S. having so much political clout, aren't we already drifting towards an Empire?

If we are slowly becoming an Empire, it's well to remember that the Romans lasted as long as they did in part because they took in meritorious Barbarians from the provinces and gave them ways to achieve the envied status of Roman Citizen. That way, legalized barbarians had some stake in the "system" of that time.

Citizenship wasn't given easily, it was earned, often by long service in the military. (Mexicans here illegally who have no criminal record, pay taxes and are making an effort to learn English need some path to "earn" American citizenship. Deporting them all seems impractical at best.) I'm sure that Barbarians who broke Roman laws were dealt with VERY severely and so should be any non-citizens, whether here legally or illegally. (deportation of illegal Mexicans for any kind of criminal conviction.)

Many Romans had been accustomed to depending on government handouts (in the U.S. Social Security, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance, etc.) and had become "soft" compared to the Barbarians, who had been hardened by having to live in survival conditions outside the "frontier.(have you seen Mexico?).

Romans stopped having many children, so they needed the children of the barbarians to fill important roles in society left empty by the lack of Roman children.

I do feel that we are losing the old America (the Statue of Liberty is drifting out to sea per Paul Simon), but it's not the fault of Mexicans coming here.

Many of them want same the "old America" of laws, less corruption, representative government and honest, hard-working individuals that immigrants have always wanted.

Unfortunately, as they come here seeking this America, it's disappearing before all our eyes due to historical forces that would be hard to stop. We're becoming more Roman every day.

Don't look now but we're becoming Roman...

You made some good points I had not considered. The problem is we are already way down that road. In other words, Rome grew by expansion and assimilation until, in the latter half of their history, they were in the throws of imperial overextension and bankruptcy. That latter half is where we're at now. If we keep allowing the population to increase while our financial resources deteriorate, we will have the equivalent of millions of people abandoning one sinking ship to get on another sinking ship.

And to all those reconquistas who are already celebrating the return of Aztlan, if you'd put down your Tecate for a minute and turn down the Rancheros, you'd realize that all you're going to get in los Estados Unidos after you swamp the boat is the same crap you got in Mexico. If you had had the courage to change your own nation you could have had a future for you and your children. Instead you want to suck what like is left out of our nation and in the end you are going to have nothing.

Journalism is NOT a profession. Neither is Real Estate Agency. Joining a "profession" in the classic sense requires years of specialized education and training, rigorous standards of entry, adherence to a professional code, commitment to ongoing knowledge, etc. You know, like doctors and lawyers. Here's a hint - if you can essentially just hang our your shingle and say that you're a "professional"? You're not...
