Keith,
Since you are pushing for a war with Iran I trust you will return to the states and join the army. Then you will be able to go live your fantasy in the slums of Sadr City. Good Luck.

i heard a commercial for a company called cornerstone first financial or something this morning.

the mortgage broker guy in the commercial was talking about a cab ride with and etiopian cabbie that had been in the country for 10 years but could not afford a house.

at the end of the cab ride i hade him "pre-qualified for a $ 350,000 load with no money down". that's was their commercial.

yep...still got a long way to go.

Why make fun of them? They made a good profit relatively quickly betting on the stupidity of the American public.

I admire them.

If you want to make fun of anyone, make fun of the people who bought overprices pieces of lumber, plywood, sheetrock and copper that was put together into a "house".

Those are the fools I make fun of. I admire the real estate and mortgage brokers who saw a good opportunity, and saved some of their profits for a rainy day.

Because it's pouring right now.

C'mon guys! Making fun at other people's expense shows a total lack of compassion. You sick people should be ashamed of your selves!

Pffft. (The person that cuts your hair has more "formal" training than these momentum players!) How freaking hard can it be for these @ssclowns to find a new "career"? They didn't have anything invested in THIS ONE! But beemer gotta go. Sorry Mr.

Will there be a higher unemployment rate among mortgage brokebacks or realtrolls? Will the brokbacks go back to flipping burgers and dealing drugs? Will thr reatrolls go back to stripping and bartending?

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is calling to expand the police force to a record level by the end of next year to reinforce efforts to combat gangs.

The mayor on Thursday also asked the governor for an additional $30 million to fund gang intervention, prevention and suppression programs.

Villaraigosa said the budget he will release next month calls for hiring 780 officers which, after the department's normal annual attrition, would result in a net gain of more than 220 officers. That would bring the LAPD to more than its historic peak of 9,852 officers by the end of 2008.

The department has found recruitment difficult in recent years. But Police Chief William Bratton said an aggressive new drive has filled the Police Academy with new recruits and a hike in trash fees approved last year has generated new funding for police.

The proposed budget represents the second year of the mayor's five-year effort to expand the police force by 1,000 officers — a necessary step, Villaraigosa says, to face off against the city's 39,000 gang members.

"Our officers are outnumbered," Villaraigosa said. "We remain the most under-policed big city in the United States of America. And we know that any effort to reduce gang and gun violence will be severely limited without a sufficient number of officers on the street."

Los Angeles, the nation's second-largest city, has one of the smallest officer-to-resident ratios of any major city with one officer for every 436 residents. New York has one officer for every 228 residents.

The mayor said he had not discussed his $30 million request with Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Schwarzenegger did not say whether he supported Villaraigosa's request but said he did favor working with the mayor to eradicate gang violence.

"What we want to do is really declare war on gang violence — on gangs all over the state of California — and we have a good shot at doing a great job," he said.

what are you talking about anon? mortgage brokers, re agents, and mortgage bankers will soon be mowing yards and driving taxi cabs. depression is coming. can you hear the pale rider? i can. when something called the fed prints our money, which in and of itself is unconstitutional, and when that said money, which are called notes are worth less than 4 cents a piece no matter what the denomination, then we are in for a rude awakening. i think this wave will start in china and quickly make its way here, similar to what happened with that hickup a few weeks ago. 400 points drop in two hours in the markets. and now they forget already. does anyone learn from history anymore? i guess not.

churchill was pushing for war and wanted us in it too. why not read some real history and find out what is going on instead of relying on the same old tired, worn out political name calling. i am an american. i am not a leftist nor a rightist. i am an american. i love my country. i want her to continue. i want her to be here for my children and my grandchildren. i love liberty. but unless we really know where we have been, we shall not know where we are going. it is all tied together. things that happen do not happen by chance. money and power is the name of the game. there are those that have it and there are those that don't. guess who does the fighting and dying for who?

i blame this on television. so many people think that they are supposed to live the good life just like their favorite movie stars. no matter that they are not in that financial bracket. they want it and they think they deserve it and no amount of talking will change their minds. so they are easy pickings for anyone who wishes to let them have what it is that they think they want. never mind the fact that they in reality cannot pay for it. they are a lost generation living for the day and not thinking about tomorrow.......oh what a shame that so many must relearn the habits of past generations of americans. habits like self reliance, independence and honesty in all things. yes the me first generation will learn these things and more. they will be dragged kicking and screaming to the gross reality of hunger and unemployment that was felt by those who lived in the 1920's in this country. perhaps this is something that we all will learn the hard way. i do not wish it nor do i look forward to it. the unknown is a dangerous thing. the four p principle comes to mind. proper planning prevents poor performance. it is time now to prepare for the unknown. it could come down to food and water, without which survival is impossible. could this sort of thing happen? who knows at this point. someone knows what is coming. and it sure isn't any of us unfortunately.

churchill pushed for war because he knew what hitler was up to and wanted to stop him before it was too late. the limp wristed liberal neville chamberlain failed. he thought he could appease hitler. no amount of spin can change that fact.

maybe if we build a few rec centers, the gangs will all go away. that is what the liberals have been telling us

I just got back from Key West Florida. I looked at a vacation home while down there just on a lark. A 900 Sq Ft. wood frame bungalo, 1/4 from the beach priced at $699,000. Newly remodeled with granite countertops and Italian tile floors. I really wish they would have treated for the termites and fixed the structural damage but hey, who notices that. I asked how high it was above sea level-- 11 feet. That's slightly less than the 15 to 25 foot storm surges that a hurricane could bring. When I asked about getting insurance I was told if I had to finance the property I might have a problem because I would probably not be able to get insurance.
But I better hurry and make an offer because a lot of other people are interested. DUMB!
