Fill up those tanks, sell those houses - Iran's getting nutty...

Ya really gotta give it up for Iran, their nutjob President and their shia islamic doomsday-cult-leaders. They sure have cojones...

* Continue building nukes - check

* Abduct British hostages, threaten with death - check

* Kill American soldiers while meddling in Iraqi affairs - check

* Call for the destruction of Israel and deny the Holocaust - check

Yup, everything is right on track I'd say. President Cheney must be barely able to control himself tonight, as he rolls on the ground with glee...

BOMB BOMB BOMB.....IRAN!

It's not so much that the Iranians have cojones as it is that the West does not. The Iranians know this, that's why they're willing to thumb their nose at everything the West demands.

By-and-large the West was unwilling to do anything about Iraq's constant lack of respect for UN demands, and Iraq was a country that had committed a far greater number of provocative acts. Iran has never invaded another country, has never committed mass murder of its own citizens, and has not violated UN resolutions to even an iota of the degree that Hussein's Iraq did. To be sure they are supporters of Hizbollah and Hamas, but no one seems to care about that because they only kill the aggressive and racist Jews (Zionists) of Israel.

The US, Israel, and Britain, the only countries that have demonstrated the will and ability to do anything about maniacs such as these, have unfortunately used up the little available international goodwill that would be required to deal with this situation. As usual, the extremists will win, France, Russia, and China will absolve themselves of any responsibility (and silently cheer on the victory of their business partner), and the real supporters of Western civilization will have to again bend over to extremists because people would rather drink their Starbucks and feel guilty about it than admit that the world is ugly and sometimes needs to be cleaned up.

Keith: You sure have bought into the administration/MSM spin!

* Continue building nukes - check*
That's just not so. Iran is building uranium refining/enrichment plants to fuel atomic reactors for electrical power. Once on-line the refining/enrichment plants will be producing uranium that can also be used to make an -atomic- bomb, not a -nuclear- bomb.

*Abduct British hostages, threaten with death - check*
Please cite your source, Keith; 'cause this is what i get from Google news:
"Your search - "British hostages" death - did not match any documents."

* Thumb nose at UN, Security Council and world community - check*
Hah! How many U.N. resolutions has the U.S. ignored? Hasn't the U.S. been thumbing it's nose at the international community for years?

* Kill American soldiers while meddling in Iraqi affairs - check*
The U.S. has 150,000 troops meddling in Iraqi affairs and is sending more troops.
Neither country has any 'right' to meddle in the affairs of Iraq, but whose self-interest is greater: Half a world away U.S. or Iran which shares a border with Iraq?

* Call for the destruction of Israel and deny the Holocaust - check*
And is this any different from what state-controlled media are saying in Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait, Yemen et alia?
And those are allies of the U.S. in 'the war on terror'.

* Eagerly await the return of the Hidden Imam - check*
No more and maybe less foolish than eagerly awaiting the return of Jesus. After all; Jesus has been gone for nearly 2,000 years; the Imam only 1,300 years or so.

I believe your Iran bashing is in error; you seem to be a follower of Fox news.

Cheney has nothing to do with this guy Ahmadinejad being a Nut-Job. The facts are as they are and they have nothing to do with who is President or Vice-President in America. It's comforting to think that if we just elect or had elected _____________( fill in the blank) then Ahmadinejad wouldn't be in power or he and the Mullahs would be a nicer guys, but that just isn't true. The world has been producing guys like this throughout history. Hitler wasn't FDR's fault, either.

We are the one with the nutjob president, and you are the one sucking up all of the prewar propaganda. It is a stated neocon goal to invade and possibly nuke Iran.

It is crazy as hell to think that Iran would attack the US. It is not farfectched that the US would attack Iran.

Listen to the Iranian UN ambassador. He was on Charlie Rose. Too damn bad he had to be so right.

What's your point? Should we invade Iran? Do you really think that this guy is unaware of the fact that if he was responsible for killing Americans that he'd be dead? Is he really the kind of man who's willing to die? Or is he just trying to keep his job and his life the way it is?

It's fanatics like you that got us into Iraq. Use your head.

Don't worry we have a plan! Were gonna parachute Hillary, Gore, John Murtha, and Al Franken into Iran on a secret mission...

Gore goes first, taking 150K per speech for global warming BS from the Iranians, essentially driving them broke. He might have them pay carbon credits to the firm he owns, and he can make his getaway on his private jet while dumping thousands of pounds of jet fuel waste into the air.

Hillary comes in next, throwing campaign doublespeak at the hapless Iranian guards, confusing them with BS. They laugh so hard when she tells them she is honest that Franken and Murtha slip behind them into the presidential building.

Franken confronts Ahmedinejhad, boring him with Franken's leftist schtick. Since nobody listened to Franken's boring routine on Air America either, Ahmedinejhad slowly nods off while...

Murtha sees his chance and stabs him in the back, like he does to our soldiers in Iraq. Problem solved, the fantastic four return to terrorize Americans!

Hostage fears over troops seized by Iran

http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,20867,21443945-31477,00.html

Iran may charge Brits as spies

Referring to them as "insurgents", the site said: "If it is proven that they deliberately entered Iranian territory, they will be charged with espionage. If that is proven, they can expect a very serious penalty since, according to Iranian law, espionage is one of the most serious offences."

The warning followed claims by Iranian officials that the British navy personnel had been taken to Tehran, the capital, to explain their "aggressive action" in entering Iranian waters, The Sunday Times reported. British officials insist the servicemen were in Iraqi waters when they were arrested.

The penalty for espionage in Iran is death.

Anonymous said...

OK, i can see how someone with your particular bias would construe the possibility of being charged with espionage as having been threatened with death...By the way, what's the penalty for espionage in the good old U.S. of A.?
The fundamental questions are: By what right does the armed forces of the U.K patrol Iraqi -or- Iranian waters?
Where were the armed forces of the U.K. when they were arrested?

Neither the U.K. or Iranians are releasing the coordinates according to the link you provided in your original post.

Anonymous said...

keith, chill! The UK just voted to update its nuclear capacity and the US just did the same too... so, what does a country like Iran do that wants to keep its freedom?

Anonymous said...

>>>By what right does the armed forces of the U.K patrol Iraqi -or- Iranian waters? <<<

Iraq's duly elested gov't has given the Brits and Americans the right to patrol their waters. The Brits maintain they weren't in Iranian waters. It looks like the Iranians are looking for hostages that they can swap for their Revolutionary Guard operatives who were captured in Iraq promoting and helping the insurgency there.

Anonymous said...

I have said this before on this blog, but it must be repeated. The Iranians fear and loathe us for the coup we executed against their democratically elected prime minister in 1953. Until we absorb that fact we will not understand Iran. And if we can't understand it, we won't know how to deal with it.

Please read this for starters:

>>>The UK just voted to update its nuclear capacity and the US just did the same too... so, what does a country like Iran do that wants to keep its freedom? <<<

We didn't nuke Iran over the Embassy hostages in the 70's and we're not going to nuke them now. Don't believe for a minute that Iran wants a nuclear arsenal for simple defensive purposes. If they could have nuked Iraq during the 80's war, they would have.

Blaming Bush is so easy, and seems to be the leftist reflex when confronted by real problems in the world they choose to ignore. Sean Penn and ilk simply love their over simplified world where the only evil that exists emminates from conservative leaders who dare sound the warning for their country. Can anyone imagine Sean Penn during WW2 when thousands of Brits and Yanks died on the beaches of D-Day? Would the bombing of Japanese and German cities by the Allies have passed Sean's approval? Can you magine the uproar from Hollywood when early war military fiascos were common? Would they have implored us to surrender for peace?

Why is it that Iran, a country that has signed the nuclear non-proliferation treaty, is catching so much crap for LEGALLY developing nuclear energy? When right next door, we have the terroristic state of israel, who ILLEGALLY HAS nuclear weapons, as well as a stock pile of chemical/biological weapons that would have put the third reichs to shame, catching zero crap from the international community?

Folks, israel ILLEGALLY posesses weapons of mass destuction, and is in violation of many, many more United Nations resolutions than Iraq ever was....... Where's the outrage?

Won't have to put a single troop on the ground. Just put them back into the stone-age and the country will implode. Starvation, chaos, etc.

Maybe the imam will save them.

It might be easier to just nuke Tehran.

Anonymous said...

"and seems to be the leftist reflex when confronted by real problems in the world they choose to ignore."

Your kind of armchair warrior idiots have caused so many troubles in this world because of your simplified simpleton world views. Keep on watching Fox News and sucking your thumbs.

Back in 2003 IRAN promised to rescue and give back any US pilots shot down over Iraq and crashlanded to Iran. They also promised to hand over any suspected terrorists on their soil if found. Even the recognition of Israel was on the table. Iranians were delighted that their main enemy, Saddam, was taking care of.

So what Dubya did? He simply put Iran to his stupid Axis-of-Evil list!

Anonymous said...

"i mean if Israel has nukes why can't their neighbors?"

Israel isn't proclaiming that Iran (or its other neighbors) needs to be wiped off the face of the earth like Iran's pseudo-leader. (He is just the front man for the religious leaders in Iran.)

the "recognition of Israel" ?

I guess unless you are not part of the 7 billion people on earth you already recognized that they were on a map...No one gives a flying f if Iran recognizes Israel or not. However, if Israel decides they are going to nuke Iran, I guess Iran will just think it's coming from some black hole...?

Oh, and I totally believe the Iranians are completely 100% honest about what they are doing with nuclear "energy"

...Haha...right.

If you want to call an apple an apple and if you are saying Bush is a liar...you have got to be freaking kidding me that you think ahmajxyz is telling the entire or even part of the truth.

Can I have some of what you are smoking. Seriously.

I don't think it is going to be Iran. We still have quite a bit of direct and indirect commerce with the country. There is a huge amount of travel also. But if a war does begin, it will be tragic.

I think it will most likely be another terrorist attack, probably in Europe or Asia. And it will not be enough to take up our headlines more than a few days. Then back to Anna - the paternity testing will be out soon and it will trump all other world news - tragic again.

The Housing Bust is really gathering momentum now. The ground is beginning to rumble, and the sound can be heard in the background throughout the world. louder and louder and louder...

Now all the evidence is pointing to nukes in Iran, yet you bitch like a woman that nobdoy's doing anything about it.

I agree that something needs to be done about this nutjob and soon. But I am consistent in also thinking the removal of Hussein from Iraq was the right thing to do.

As for all you imbeciles out there who think Iran has the right to have nukes so it can defend itself against Israel. Or this is all a ruse to get people's attention away from the housing market...well you're just as insane as your buddy in Tehran, no probably more so.

"So what did Ahmadinejad actually say? To quote his exact words in farsi:

"Imam ghoft een rezhim-e ishghalgar-e qods bayad az safheh-ye ruzgar mahv shavad."

The full quote translated directly to English: "The Imam said this regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time".

Word by word translation:

Imam (Khomeini) ghoft (said) een (this) rezhim-e (regime) ishghalgar-e (occupying) qods (Jerusalem) bayad (must) az safheh-ye ruzgar (from page of time) mahv shavad (vanish from).

Ahmadinejad declares that Zionism is the West's apparatus of political oppression against Muslims. He says the "Zionist regime" was imposed on the Islamic world as a strategic bridgehead to ensure domination of the region and its assets.....

reminds the audience that, as Khomeini predicted, other seemingly invincible empires have disappeared and now only exist in history books. He then proceeds to list three such regimes that have collapsed, crumbled or vanished, all within the last 30 years:

(1) The Shah of Iran- the U.S. installed monarch
(2) The Soviet Union
(3) Iran's former arch-enemy, Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein"

So Iranians got all the time in the world to just sit and wait until Israel self-destructs...

Iran is just trying to protect his oil from the secret society (and their Israelis palls), by getting nuclear technology. Peak oil is here and the US is desperate trying to get what's left of oil fields around the world. That's why the conflict with Chavez, who's been buying lots of weapons from China and Russia to protect his oil, too. Note how the US has conflict only with the countries holding oil. No interest in North Korea or Cuba, whatsoever. Bush was schmoozing with South Americans last month, because that continent is rich in oil and ethanol. We're running out of oil folks, that's why there's no need to built more refineries. The US is putting strategic military bases in the Euro-Asian region to get what's left of the oil and gas. Read the book "Crossing the Rubicon" by Michael Ruppert and watch this video:

http://tinyurl.com/yx8w5z

Plan accordingly. I am.

Anonymous said...

The US will not attack Iran because China, Japan, and other European countries get their oil from that country. They won't allow the US to attack them and create an oil crisis in their countries. Peak Oil is here to stay and the world is heading to a dangerous future. We don't have enough time to develop a substitute for all the oil the world needs. Ethanol and solar won't be enough to supply all the energy that we consume. We use oil like crazy in plastic, transport of food from overseas, fertilizer for crops, paint, detergent, toothpaste, wax, etc. Don't forget that China and India will have to supply cars + fuel to all those billions of people. Good luck!

Why that little shi**y country has so much influence in the US, may I ask? Don't you guys feel that strange? There are bigger and more important economies in South America alone that don't have that kind of influence in American policy. That's why I ask you, should we really give a damn about the trouble maker Israelis? Those people are nothing but bad news. The US GIVES lots and lots of weapons to Israelis, free of charge, including Apache helicopters, missiles, jets, etc, to create havoc in the region. Do you know how much that costs for us the taxpayer? Do you even know where Israel is in the map? Funny how a big Israeli shipping company broke its lease of many years, and vacated its offices at one of the Tween Towers, a couple weeks before 9-11. Good timing, huh? Shalom my little sheeple.

This choice was made with Iraq as well. A simple calculation of some bodies dying far far away and you not noticing (but drivin' the 5.0 down de boulevard. You would be amazed how many people would rather take the blue pill. Given the financial situation of the US, it may not even be a bad choice in the short term.
