Now this could get interesting...

We could have neutralized this threat years ago, when we had a warrant for his arrest.

But since we were in the middle of doing everything possible wrong at that point, made sense that we screwed up and let this dude off the hook.

Now he's grown from street thug to become the most powerful man in Iraq, and we're going straight into the bee's nest.

Should be interesting. Especially when he pulls his support from the government he's propping up, or is arrested himself.

BAGHDAD, Iraq - U.S. and Iraqi forces arrested one of Muqtada al-Sadr's top aides Friday in Baghdad, his office said, as pressure increases on the radical Shiite cleric's militia ahead of a planned security sweep aimed at stemming the sectarian violence ransacking the capital.

Sheik Abdul-Hadi al-Darraji, al-Sadr's media director in Baghdad, was captured Friday and his personal guard was killed, according to another senior al-Sadr aide.

I can't stand W. I was against the war. But if there is one thing that really is ticking me off. Is that we really have not gone medieval on these whackos.

During WW2-any of the Armies would roll into a town, if they were sniped at the would pull back & shell the town until it was rubble & then go in again.

We will lose this war because the true stakeholder (military industrial complex profit machine) have an interest in keeping it going. The lackeys (zionist neo-cons & Oil industries) that help start this mess already have backed down.

However, to truly solve it. We really do need to get medieval. We have nothing to lose. Terrorrism - they are going to attack us anyway. Country's reputation -let's not talk about it. Country's finances -to the poor house here we go., hey Haiti wait up for us.

So at this point just start carpet bombing.

Don't worry.
Moqtada is going to have an 'accident' soon enough.
Of course, then he'll be a 'martyr'.

Al-Sadr is and WAS the only candidate for shia leader of Iraq. Iraq - not just Baghdad's Sadr City.

Surely, the US would love to control him or eliminate him but they cannot. They can only hope to compromise with him.

Killing him or arresting him is not likely so get used to hearing more and more from him and about him.

Why would the U.S. military do a deal with Sadr? If they are going to do deals they could have just done a deal with Sadam.

I say go after these militias who are part of the problem in Iraq. These people want to die so let's accomodate them.

"Al-Sadr is and WAS the only candidate for shia leader of Iraq."

No, Shiites in Najaf don't care for Sadr after he imposed his militia on them before the marines cleaned the area out.

Frankly, Sadr is really confusing. Saddam killed the guys father. So what does he do? Start a fight with the Americans.

In some respects, Sistani and Sadr are the same coin. One plays wise man and the other is the enforcer.

This Shiite strategy is stupid, all the sectarianism is going to split the country. Then its land grab time by the neighbors. Saudi Arabia has already signaled they will roll into Anbar. Who knows what Syria, Turkey, or Iran have planned.

America gets the blame then the neighbors take the oil. lol
