Imagine stock brokers getting paid by companies to sell their stock to unsuspecting suckers

ummm, I'm not mad at the realtors. People should be smart enough to know that they are paying ALL the bills by borrowing the money.

the bottom line: if it's a good deal, go for it, otherwise, don't!

the realtors are following auto dealers who also like giving "cash back" because it keeps the price of used cars up, allows "pricing levels" to form, allows price points to go up in a good economy, the ability to charge different customers different prices, etc...

That's erin burnett, ya bunch of amateurs. Williams college hottie. If anyone can find pictures of her that weren't taken off the boob tube, post 'em.

Just realtors? What about the whole "rentier class" as the french call them, those who earn money without producing anything? Stock brokers, CEOs-right-the ones who didn't create a company like Bill Gates but just get hired to run one and even if the company looses they walk with their golden parachutes, politicians, flippers, etc.

"people should be smart to know what they are paying..."

unfortunately not. the worst and the most dangerous combination is being dumb and greedy. america has a lot of that.

"unfortunately not. the worst and the most dangerous combination is being dumb and greedy. america has a lot of that."

people look at me funny when i say, "is $100 a night at a hotel expensive?," "yes," they say. So why is a $3000 mortgage cheap? then I get that "blank stare."

I am realtor and we write in all disclosures on the contract using invisible ink, combination of lemon juice and water.

If you hold it to a black light after pouring some vineger on the contract everything is clear as day.

Annonymous do the math. You said, "people look at me funny when i say, 'is $100 a night at a hotel expensive?," "yes," they say. So why is a $3000 mortgage cheap? then I get that "blank stare.'"

In a lot of places $3,000 a month gives you a pretty descent place so for $100 a day you can have what, a 3000 sq ft luxery home or a Holiday inn express room? There is a difference.

If I travel I always look to rent a home if I intend on being in one location for a week or more. Hard to find vacation rentals for less than a week when renting a house. For example when I was in Spain in March I rented a three bedroom house with a living room, dining room, kitchen, two terraces overlooking olive groves and a lake and an ancient white village with a pool for $75 a night, not bad since four adults were staying there. On the portions of the trip where we were only in a place for one or two days the rooms (and we had to rent two) ran us $300 a day for two rooms and they were like 3 star.

Your comparison misses the mark. By your standards most houses are a bargain compared to renting a hotel room month by month, and I am not talking the Sheraton.

KB Home to take charges, restate results
Homebuilder blames slowdown in industry, says it will restate results over option expensing errors.
December 8 2006: 7:14 PM EST

CHICAGO (Reuters) -- KB Home said Friday it expects impairment charges due to a slowdown in the U.S. homebuilding industry and will restate results back several years because of options expensing errors.

Shares of KB Home (Charts) edged lower in after-hours trade Friday on the news, after closing slightly lower on the New York Stock Exchange.

KB Home said it expects to take noncash charges in its fiscal fourth quarter ended Nov. 30 that range from $235 million to $285 million due to oversupply of inventory and $90 million for land option contract abandonments.

The company also expects to restate financial reports for 2003 through 2005 and two quarters of 2006 and to adjust results for prior fiscal periods because of options grant measurement errors from 1999 to 2005. It expects a noncash expense of about $41 million spread over several years.

With a slowdown in the housing market near a bottom, homebuilders such as KB Home, Toll Brothers (Charts), Pulte Homes (Charts), Lennar (Charts), and D.R. Horton (Charts) have all seen their profits fall sharply, with many lowering their forecasts.

That guy in the red shirt is the posture child for The Morning After. All that's missing is a ring through his nose.

And he actually sells houses?? Unbelievable.

I love this Paul guy. How many times does he say "Real-Uh-ter"? His whole body language reeks of "I'm uncomfortable and I know every one can tell I'm on the take and screwin the poor unsuspecting buyer"

They put the kickback on Page 8?????? Wow. that's really good. In a different color of handwritten ink (hmmmm, maybe cause it gets written in after being signed and back at the real-uh-tor's office?

Sheesh!

Don't listen to garret, he's an idiot, listen to me!

DON'T BUY! ASK WHY!

Deluged with the pressure of buying? Brainwashed with the mantra "Throwing money out the window on rent?" We'll help you decide whether buying is right for you and perhaps talk you out of it.

Why FranklyRealty?

First of all, when was the last time a Realtor talked you OUT of buying a house or condo? Yes you read that correctly. If that doesn't give you some indication on how we do things differently, I don't know what will.

Visit us today! We won't screw you like those other guys will.

gotta love the builder saying that the market isn't 'down' it's just 'more competitive'. REIC, I tell ya, they've always gotta give it some spin. It's like loan sharks saying it's ok if you have 'less than perfect credit' instead of saying 'bad credit'
