If PT Barnum were alive today, what would he be:

* a realtor
* the president
* a mortgage broker
* a high end condo developer
* a "family values" Republican
* a MSM reporter
* a Wall Street analyst
* head of the congressional budget office
I'd also think he'd update his "sucker born every minute" stance, to "there's a sucker born every second". We've devolved.

He would be a non-entity, compared to the "showmen" of today. If you could bring P.T. to the present in a time machine he would immediately recognize that now he would be considered a rank amateur, and settle down with the little woman in suburbia doing a typical nine-to-fiver!

None of these. Barnum let everyone know he was a showman and providing entertainment. These groups of people are conning people and swindling them and posing to be something they are not.
The famous quote of P.T. Barnum's isn't. As a matter of fact, he was an advocate for square dealing, as it brought in repeat business.
"Men who drive sharp bargains with their customers, acting as if they never expected to see them again, will not be mistaken."
If recent biographies are correct, he wouldn't be in real estate.

That would qualify him to be a feature in his own show.
At least Phineas Taylor Barnum delivered great entertainment and kept his satisfied customers coming back for more.
The current real estate circus will only provide an exhilarating rush on the way up and a nauseating plunge on the way down. There will be no repeat business because the suckers will all be broke.
