The Who, along with the Clash were the greatest rock and roll band ever.

Mick Jagger ain't worthy enough to be their roadie.

Anyway.....great stuff Keith.

Summer's almost gone
Summer's almost gone
Almost gone
Yeah, it's almost gone
Where will we be
When the summer's gone?

Morning found us calmly unaware
Noon burn gold into our hair
At night, we swim the laughin' sea
When summer's gone
Where will we be
Where will we be

The Doors

Ahhh - a great song by some great musicians. Truly a classic piece, a reminder of my misspent youth. Unfortunately, the story of america is "did get fooled again''.

Here's one that comes to mind;
Grinding Halt, by the Cure 1980

No light
No people
No speak
No people
No cars
No people
No food
No people

Stopped
Short
Grinding halt
Everything's coming to a grinding halt

No sound
No people
No clocks
No people
No fine
No people
No me
No people

Stopped
Short
Grinding halt
Everything's coming to a grinding halt
Everything's coming to a grinding halt

Slow down
Slow down
No people
Slow down
Everything's coming to a
Everything's coming to a
Everything's coming to a
Everything's coming to a

Better yet this describes the aftermath;
Burning Down The House by the Talking Heads
---------------------------------

Watch out you might get what you're after
Cool babies strange but not a stranger
I'm an ordinary guy
Burning down the house

Hold tight wait till the party's over
Hold tight We're in for nasty weather
There has got to be a way
Burning down the house

Here's your ticket pack your bag: time for jumpin' overboard
The transportation is here
Close enough but not too far, Maybe you know where you are
Fightin' fire with fire

All wet hey you might need a raincoat
Shakedown dreams walking in broad daylight
Three hun-dred six-ty five de-grees
Burning down the house

It was once upon a place sometimes I listen to myself
Gonna come in first place
People on their way to work baby what did you except
Gonna burst into flame

My house S'out of the ordinary
That's might Don't want to hurt nobody
Some things sure can sweep me off my feet
Burning down the house

No visible means of support and you have not seen nuthin' yet
Everything's stuck together
I don't know what you expect starring into the TV set
Fighting fire with fire

The Ramones blessed us with the theme song for the bubble burst:

Somebody calls me on the phone
Say hey-hey-hey is Arty home
You wanna take a walk
You wanna go cop
You wanna go get some Chinese rock

I'm livin' on a Chinese rock
All my best things are in hock
I'm livin' on a Chinese rock
Everything is in the pawn shop

The plaster fallin' off the wall
My girlfriend cryin' in the shower stall
It's hot as a bitch
I should've been rich
But I'm just diggin' a Chinese ditch

I'm livin' on a Chinese rock
All my best things are in hock
I'm livin' on a Chinese rock
Everything is in the pawn shop

I worked my butt of and then investment my life savings into .com stocks, lost over $600,000 in the bust!

My wife took the kids and left my for a gay yoga instructor. After completing an AA program and getting on anti-depressants I discover meth. Newly engergy and doing meth twice a day I become a real estate agent and purchase 10 housing becoming a millionaire in under 3 years.

Last year I sold all of the house and invested it into a Las Vegas condo project which is %60 built and only %10 sold.

I am now out of money and about to go bankrupt again, I am totaly f'uked and am blaming the liberal media for all my problems.

vis-a-vis

"5) One - Metallica"

Wait a minute, isn't the above a Gen-X classic? And isn't it true that the Gen Y bands of Creed, Godsmack, Tool, Limp Bizkit, Corn, Weezer, and the gang pale in comparison to the Metallica of the 80s?

I would think that for this blog, the Stone's "Gimme Shelter" would be in the mix.

Creepy guitar intro and riffs and dark side overtones - sounds like a man wrestling with and slowly being overcome by his own personal demons.
