This blogger is clearing his desk, and some bits bucket finds

On a lighter note, what the F is a bits bucket find?

HP'ers, I know this bubble blog on bubble blog violence should end, but seriously, don't you see a bit of a difference between HP and housingbubble2 or whatever it's called?

Tell me one thing Ben BELIEVES. Tell me one thing he STANDS FOR. Tell me one CONTROVERSIAL POSITION he's taken.

I offered the paranoid Ben a chance to join forces, to fight the evil REIC. But he wants to go it alone. Mine mine mine. So so be it.

HP and HB2 or whatever it's called will it looks be forever divided, just as the evil REIC would want it. Not because of HP, I've always done the right thing and linked to HB2, but because of the greedy, selfish and paranoid antics of one Ben Jones, who's never linked to HP.

I seldom stop by the booooring housingbubbleblog or whatever it's called, preferring Patrick.net, bubblemeter, forsakencraft, housingtracker, mish, kitco and housingdoom. For hot housing bubble, finance and political news I like a little thing called google.com, and also the email I receive from readers. Keep it coming.

What bubble blogs are your favs? Who am I missing from my blogroll? I include anyone I think you'll want to visit or I find interesting. And what's your take on Ben's boring blog or whatever it's called? Mine is bigger is not better, and that Ben, in addition to being paranoid, is just a secretary, taking notes soullessly, joylessly and with no personality.

If you want to take over a thread comments on HB2 or whatever it's called, fire away.

Now back to the housing bubble and the corrupt REIC

Keith,

Ben revieves much more traffic then you!

Anonymous said...

Keith - why the fascination with Ben? Seriously, it's a little weird.

Anonymous said...

revieves??

This must be another type of Red Neck Word.

Anonymous said...

Jealousy is a stinky cologne.

Anonymous said...

It has to be his name that is the fascination BEN! as in Bendover!

Anonymous said...

Why do you care what Ben does? Dumping on him makes you look childish and your blog less credible. Let it go.

Anonymous said...

I like this blog, but thehousingbubbleblog.com is a great resource. You're both good in your different areas, let it go...

Anonymous said...

Maybe it is time too aplogize to Ben Jones and make peace. Then he could add you to his blogroll!

Anonymous said...

What do you all think of Bubble Meter?

Anonymous said...

Thanks for the link to my site Keith but that link doesnt catch the left column because I use frames. http://www.forsakencraft.com/mainframe.html

note: Ben's blog is pretty boring though I go there sometimes (as of all blogs). But he doesnt raz it up any. He needs some photos or something. He did ban me from posting 8 months ago. I think he banned me after a comment I left on an article that was quoting a lady saying "is the market that bad where I need to bring money to the table"? I think I said YA BITCH IT'S TIME! Was that too bad? lol. I check this site more btw.

don't get me wrong folks - I didn't seek this war. I linked to Ben's blog right away as well as the other bubble blogs

My bone to pick with Ben is that even though HP is one of the top bubble blogs, and I would suggest the #1 bubble opinion free-for-all blog, he refuses to link.

Very poor form in the blogging community. Very poor form.

But Ben is just afraid, it would appear, to lose his readers. Like North Korea not allowing media or internet access, same thing (sure, different scale!)

So, like the corrupt REIC, the pathetic David Lereah, and the incompetent George Bush, I'm simply doing my thing - calling it like I see it.

Trust me, I'm not jealous of his blog - I truly find it boring and soulless. Time is too short to spend with a boring, soulless blog. But he does blog for a living (thus the JC Penny shirt and tie) whereas I blog for fun

Cheers

all this time and ben hasn't figured out how to use video or pictures? bo-ring

foxwoodlief said...

Odd your attraction to Ben, do you think he is cute since you use his picture a lot? All kidding aside, I like Ben's site for the plain simple articles with no grandstanding. I don't like that almost all my posts on his site never appear.

I like this site for the humor! And the controversy. Still, why the obsession with Ben? Who cares?

blogger said...

if you haven't figured it out by now HP'ers, if something's on my mind, I post it. Iran, Iraq, housing, the fed, the corrupt harvard dude, the republican who liked little boys, ben's blog, you name it

why? 1) because I can and 2) because you know you enjoy it

now that's a blog.

I see that you have some of the localized bubble blogs on there, but not my own Seattle Bubble. I've been linking to you practically since I started. Just an FYI.

It has to be the tie right Keith ..Do you have a tie fetish? hahah!

Anonymous said...

I mostly surf over there, here, and others not so much. I do my own google searches at times and have a blog of my own. This blog is diverse and creative so I keep coming back. Ben's comment format is more interactive and his readers catch almost every tidbit out there. I don't think this obsession with getting him to link up is all that healthy for you. One thing I will say for Keith though, I have never been censored over here and I appreciate that. Most sites, if they even censor me one time, I'm gone. Censorship for foul language or other triteness is just a little too Nazi for me. There will always be someone who pushes the envelope, but the envelope needs to be pushed at times.

blogger said...

foresakencraft link updated and Seattle blog added - all you had to do is ask! thanks for the input - keep it coming

Anonymous said...

Maybe you don't realize it, but your post makes you sound like a bitter loser.

Although I love your blog too, I can see why a serious blog would not want to be associated with it because of all the crazy geo-political paranoid ramblings from you and from many of your posters. Although I find this entertaining, it does make the blog seem really juvenile at times. The real estate info is good and your pictures are great.

Just my opinion....

blogger said...

I do censor a bit - I hate seeing swear words because I don't think kids need to see that sh*t (kinda silly, but give me that one). Blatent threadjacks as the first post get dinged. And Richard gets dinged just cause it's fun! I know it drives him crrraaazzzyyy (more than he already is)

For a real laugh check this out

Yeah I will do what you say... ROFLMAO

If you find Ben's blog to be boring and soulless, well....sometimes people want just the information, and sometimes they want entertainment value with the information. Plus, there's no way I could go on your blog at work without getting an earful from the IT department.

blogger said...

But I am a bitter loser - that's the intent.

Blogger etiquette 101 - you link to other blogs in your genre. But some kids don't like to share their toys. So the other kids have to beat them up.

blogger said...

"there's no way I could go on your blog at work without getting an earful from the IT department"

-SWEET!!! Mission accomplished!

Anonymous said...

ehh, Ben just posts links - it is the reader comments that make his site worthwhile.

Boring or not, he sticks to the topic and provides a good central place for people to talk about the bubble. While I agree with your political rants, many others don't and the political commentary will keep him and others away from your blog.

I reserve my hate for patrick.net. The commentary there is worthless. Most discussions turn to sex, cooking, pets, etc. Seems more like a gathering place for bored housewives than a bubble blog.

Anonymous said...

But Ben is just afraid, it would appear, to lose his readers.

Lose his readers to who? YOU? LOL

I didn't know we were competing.

Trust me, I'm not jealous of his blog

You have a great way of showing that.

is Ben posting as anon? sweet.

The cheif bloger of this site just likely made a big mistake. There was no reason for him to attack another persons blog ... it's just chickensh*t! PERIOD!

What a dick!

blogger said...

yes, you are wise, HP'ers. Ben doesn't respect HP, after all this time. So I've given up and chosen to finally once and for all call a spade a spade.

Ben is paranoid, classless and worst of all, boring.

r.e.s.p.e.c.t, I'll tell you what it means to me...

lots of REIC posters tonight. Welcome!

My favorite bubble site (which you already link to) is www.piggington.com, very good insight on the San Diego/Southern California market, although the postings are sporadic.

Anonymous said...

Another good San Diego one is http://sandiegomarketmonitor.blogspot.com/ it shows which listings in San Diego are asking for less than the price the seller originally bought the property for.

Anonymous said...

Maybe he's wary of your occasional Father Couglinish nativist and skate-up-to-the-edge-of-outright-racist rants. Maybe he thinks you're unstable. Maybe he has a point.

Anonymous said...

Ben should use some of the Google dollars and Paypal donations to get himself a nice LCD monitor; that CRT is probably hard on his eyes. Go ahead and splurge Ben, you deserve it Buddy! Nothing's too good for a Housing Bubble Blogger.

Anonymous said...

>taking notes soullessly, joylessly and with no personality.

LOL. While I find this hellariously funny, that's not how I view Ben at all.

He's got his style and you've got yours. He doesn't need to comment on the articles because the bloggers do that for him.

Personally I appreciate both your blogs and are happy they exist.

Anonymous said...

Keith,

I enjoy the diversity of opinions on your blog. And it's easy to post comments. I've just made a link on my real estate blog to your site. Keep it up!

Anonymous said...

Keith,

You and Ben serve different markets. For my friends who can appreciate truth even when it's expressed hyperbolically and have a sense of humor, I send them to you.

For dumba$$ friends who are thinking about buying a house, I need hard facts presented in a serious way (i.e. Ben's blog & the Wikipedia article on the US housing bubble).

As for myself, yours is the only blog I read. Know that you have the best blog out there and let this silly reciprocal link thing go. It does make you look jealous, which you have no reason to be.

Besides, people will follow Ben's links to intermediate sites that do link you, and once they get here, they ain't going back!

Anonymous said...

Keith,

both your site and Ben's are saved under my favorites. The remarks made by your readers are truly interesting. I love your pictures.
Keep up the good work.

Anonymous said...

By the way, Keith, did anyone tell you that you have an uncanny resemblance to Richard M. Nixon?

Anonymous said...

keith, yes, ben is boring. I agree with that and think he is also an anal type and anal people control things by being silent. for people of ben's psychology, the more you rant, the more he'll shake his head and stay quiet. that's how his type control things. the two of you have different personalities. he's made up his mind. blog away about the housing bubble and democracy will lift you up! stay away from being too controversial, like pissing on the Iranian President. that sort of content confuses people who don't want to sift through stuff to get to the nuggets.

Anonymous said...

Keith

No worries....both your blogs are great.

The articles tend to complement each other.

As a "consumer" I like choices...

Face it Keith...

Ben's Just Not That Into You!

Anonymous said...

InfidelSix said: BTW how come I can't even find my own blog when I Google the name?

Answer: Ben is in charge of all Housing Bubble blog links on Google. Email him with the link and he will ad you blog the database of listings.

Anonymous said...

How come no one has mentioned:

www.realestatedecline.com

?

This was actually one of the very first bubble blogs (including this one of course, still my favorite by a wide margin) I started reading way back in December of 2005.

This is an excellent site to check daily if you don't already!

stocksystm said...

I read both blogs, but I'm a little ticked off at HB2 because I've tried to post a comment several times and it doesn't show up for some reason. Maybe filtered by Ben Jones? Anyway, this blog allows me to post so I give you credit for that. Plus your pictures are usually entertaining.

One negative is there seems to be a little bit too much schadenfreude here. This bubble will result in misery like we haven't seen in quite awhile. I actually worry about the future of our society as a result of the extreme overspeculation that has occurred.

Anonymous said...

Yikes Keith.

For your own sake please stop.

Can you not see it is YOU who are paranoid?

I read Bens blog everyday. It is TERRIFIC source of info , the posters are fabulous.

I have never heard Ben or ayone who posts there ever mention you. Not once!

I check your blog every day or 2. It's funny. Your posters, for the most part, are lame. But that's okay. Still like the blog and wish you well.

But this obsession you have with Ben could be your downfall if you don't watch.

Chill man. You're embarrassing yourself.

Anonymous said...

In general I agree with you, but Ben's legion of winged monkeys beats yours. I can't see him calling out Retsinas though. Nice one.

Joe said...

Amen, especially apropos the lame posters.

Same here. I've been around since the beginning, but it's hard to post when you have all these bitter anti-establishment extremists posting all day trying to incite a flame war.

Keith, I see your plan. Warm up your readers to your political rants. Once this bubble thing dies down, switch to the more political anti-everything rhetoric. Rename the blog to just "Panic". Smart.

I like Ben's site for the plain simple articles with no grandstanding. I don't like that almost all my posts on his site never appear.

My posts never show up either. I think he only allows people in his little inner circle to post.

Anonymous said...

This is what is pissing Keith off:

http://tinyurl.com/nywtq

It seems like Ben is getting a little more attention than Keith is.

Anonymous said...

I have never heard Ben or ayone who posts there ever mention you. Not once!

I keep a simple page with links to news on the real estate & housing bubble:

Christ! Ben's blog is boring! In fact, it is one of th most boring blogs I have ever seen. I visit HP every day; I visit Ben's maybe once a week and usually fall asleep within 5 minutes. If he does indeed do this for a living, he's got to be eating out of soup cans.

Don't get me wrong. He seems nice and sincere, and I'm not trying to kick down the guy. He just needs to learn how to spice up his text-only site and not censor so many posts.

Anonymous said...

keith,

i agree with everyone that ben's sight is boring.

i like yours much better because i like pictures and less words.
