Senate committee to "investigate" toxic mortgages on Wednesday

Man, I get all excited, like the Bubble Hearing last week, then I look at the speaker list and it's the same old same old - bunch of industry insiders and government hacks who will NOT speak to what's really going on out there. What, is every independent voice busy on Wednesday? Or does the Senate just fear the truth?

Memo for the corrupt Senate: Want the truth? Invite Shiller. Invite Thornberg. Invite the writers from BusinessWeek's Toxic Mortgage expose. Hell, invite HP! BUT DO NOT BRING IN THE HEAD OF THE DAMNED MORTGAGE BROKER ASSOCIATION IF YOU WANT THE DAMNED TRUTH!

Man, that's like bringing in OJ to investigate violence against women. Incompetent.

Want change? Contact the Senate here and let them know who you want to see at the next hearing. Contact C-span and let them know you want this one covered.

"They can't handle The Truth."

But OJ was innocent...

OJ got off because he could afford Johnny Cochran. Who are these people going to get to defend themselves? Congress is going to be hurt by the declining housing numbers and will have to find someone to blame. Someone will have to take the fall.

This Congress has no desire to present a preview of the upcoming economic meltdown 50 days before a major election.

Republicans will do almost anything to stay in power. Too bad we'll be hunting them with dogs by 2008.

Yes, these hearing are a little much. CYA before the elections kind of hearings.

Anyone notice how eager Bu$h is to get his 'clarification" of torture passed in Congress. He knows he's going up on charges after the selections.

Looks like a producer for CNBC was in charge of picking the guests.

The SENATE is going to investigate

Boy , that fills me with all kinds o' confidence!

The prepared statements you will be able to read almost immediately after the hearing will be to CYA. After they read their testimony, the senators will grill them with questions. This also is as stylized as kabuki, because the purpose is usually to give each party the chance to look like they're asking hard-hitting questions of the other side's experts.

Not racist if the poster is of the Black Race.

But calling all Red Neck's Republican is racist.
