HousingPanic Stupid Question of the Day

If the election were held again today, would you vote for this team - yea or nay?

yea, i'd vote for 'em. to impeach 'em that is!

Yes, if only to piss Keith off. A Dem in the whitehouse and the Reps in Congress? Play what is called future history here. The deficit would surely be much lower but what of international tensions? Iran and Iraq would poised on a nuclear knife edge that would surely engulf Egypt and the house of Saud. We'd still have had a 9/11 event but not only would our response reveal us to be a paper tiger the budget priorities and deficit hawking would make us a toothless tiger in fact as well. Better? Hard to say but then if there hadn't been these last 6 years of media and Dem drumbeating thecurrent officeholder might have been able to do a lot better as well.

I would vote for them, arm them, and allow them to have carte blanc with the islamo-nazis. I would also allow the US to set up concentration camps for anyone here illegally, make them work for at least one year on a fence between the US and Mexico, and line the border with tanks and armed garrisons. (Sort of like every country south of Mexico does to protect their banana republic contry!). Anyone who has not served in the military has no basis to comment, as you are living in the US as a free, non-Islamo- captive without having paid for the priviledge. You free loading bastards owe each and every vet more than you can imagine!

Anonymous said...

I have every right, even if I'm not a Vet .You work for me buddy. Piss off.

Anonymous said...

i owe the vets nothing. fools, every nation has them, and they get f@cked everytime and they never learn.
they are tools being used and disposed. yet people programmed with patriotism, nationalism or someother mind virus like religion join up and expect everyone to think they are heroes. no shortage of fools for this war or that.

Anonymous said...

LOL. Another vet here. I didn't vote for them the first time they lost the (popular) election, nor the second time when it was rigged.

I'd rather have someone who's actually *experienced* combat making the decision to go to war. These guys were just a little too eager to send pimple-faced kids to die in Iraq, considering their own ignomious behavior when it was *their* turn. Swiftboat veterans for truth my butt

repugs- nay

demorats- nay also

We need some leadership in this country because the current crew of stooges is not up to the job.

Anonymous said...

Agree, Mr. Smith.

We need a 'Mr. Smith Goes to Washington'- a leader not a politician- but see none on horizon.

No, wouldn't vote for them again, am kicking myself for voting R last time, but couldn't stomach Kerry. Now I wonder could Kerry have been this bad? What a mess.

Anonymous said...

Didn't vote for them either time. Couldn't agree more. War should be waged by professionals, not politicians. People that know what carnage and slaughter and devastation is all about, respect AND FEAR its power, not some a#shole sitting in cushy comfort at a desk somewhere far away from the killing, who's daddy made damn sure HIS kid didn't go! FYI Vietnam vet.

After seeing the video of Dubya running for office in 2000, then seeing his true colors, I would have to say NAY. Voted for Dubya in 2000, abstained in 2004, but I still got screwed :-)

Anonymous said...

You gotta be really. really stupid to vote Republican.
But hey, look around you.., this is a dumbed down country filled with lots of white trash scum.
They get the 'leaders" they deserve.

Anonymous said...

100% without a doubt yes! I wish we could do at least 8 more years. All you bitter lib/dems can taste that!

Anonymous said...

"yea, i'd vote for 'em. to impeach 'em that is!"

Put me in the "impeach" camp too.

Anonymous said...

Sick and tired of reading and hearing about the sacrifice of vets, soldiers, cops, firemen, first responders, etc.
What's with this gratitude syndrome?
Just do you friggin job like everybody else and quit wearing it on your sleeve.
If you don't like it and can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

And what's this BS on ground-zero workers and lung issues?
That's a lot of malarkey so these overtime pimps can now start collecting inflated "disability" pensions at an early age (30s & 40s).
Let's cut out this American "hero" crap.

Anonymous said...

Voted for them twice.

Last time I actually held my nose as I pulled the lever... no really, I did!

Now I wish I could go back and write in Ross Perot's name... or Pat Buchanan... or Forbes... or just about anyone else's name!

Anonymous said...

I would pencil in the Pope.

Anonymous said...

I would not vote for a Republican for Whitehouse or Congress for quite some time. I have given 20 yrs for Repubs. I plan giving 20 yrs for dems.

Anonymous said...

I'm a republican and I would not vote for em. It was the guy he was up against was retarded also. Lose Lose.

Anonymous said...

No vote. Former vet, did GW1, figured the US was playing to much the mercenary force then..'oh you can't bring forces, just send money we will take care of it for you.' Now we don't even ask for money. "We are going to lead the way to combat terrorists around the world. If you're not with us, you're against us."

I also wish for a true leader. I currently live in CA, remember the Bill Simon, Gray Davis debacle? For crying out loud, 34 million people in this state and that is the best we can do? Then we get Arnie...this place is truly effed...

I feel pretty much the same way about my country. Bush, Gore, Kerry, now more than likely Hillary? We have set upon a course that could be truly ruinous. I try and be positive but man is it hard these days. My biggest fear is that GW and crew will keep this 'economy' going just long enough for them to squeak out of office. So that the blame for this mess doesn't land squarely on their shoulders. I have a co-worker who de-registered as a republican to indie cause of these two. He maintains that history will judge W as the worst president ever. But not if he skates out of office before the defication contacts the rotary ocsillator...

Anonymous said...

"But, Kerry is an even sorrier excuse of a human being."

Why? What did he do?

Bush lied to get us into an impossible to win war.

Kerry told the truth to get us out of an impossible to win war.

Anonymous said...

Hell, get rid of the both parties and let the strongest General run the US. The political procees in the US has reverted to the lowest common denominator (Dem's = International Bolshiviks / Repub's = Elite One world Financial Aristricrats). At least all the mexicans that amount to an army of foreign occupation on US soil would be forced to comply with the immigration law, and the welfare paraistes would find their meal tickets include mandatory public projects under a more or less benign junta.

If Americans are too apathetic to govern themselves, vote for decent leaders and send out the idiots such as Clinton, Kerry and so many others so that any other meglomaniacs with a personal agenda get the message, somone will do it for them.

Anonymous said...

Keith:

Why don't you, for a change, post a survey as to who would vote for the Republicans and who would for the Democrats. No third party for now. They're also welcome to state their reason why.

Just a NO vote, by the way. For example, one may not vote for Republicans, but not necessarily would go for the Dems either. They may just sit tight on election day.

Just for fun Keith.

"The strongest General"? There are None left! The greatest generation, gone or too old! The actual battle hardened field commanders from Viet Nam to few and far between, gettin too old!

What's left, are college educated officers! Guy's who have worked their way through the ranks Kissin ASS!!! We all know what that means! They don't know S--t from shinola! The intellect and true insight have been completely Educated out of them!
It's kind of like a heart surgeon who has 'Only' read about open heart surgery, as opposed to a doctor who has actual open chest time! Which one do you want?

Anonymous said...

Well said! I agree!

Anonymous said...

Yes. W rocks!

Kerry's still a Pussy (with a cap P) and Clinton is still a LOSER!

Anonymous said...

I never even for a second entertained the thought of voting for those two incompetent corrupt assholes. But thank you very little to all you ignorant sons of bitches who did.

Anonymous said...

I wouldn't vote for any liberal for Prez.

I voted four times for Bush and will vote for his brother when he decides to run.

Gore was/is and idiot liar. Kerry is an idiot liar, who married rich.

Anonymous said...

Yep, I voted for him. Not happy with all the economic policies. But, would still vote for him again.

All racists are Republicans
All rednecks are Republicans
All religious wackos are Republicans

You gotta be a real ignoramus to vote Republican, but with all the poorly educated white trash in this country, what do you expect?

Just keep on waving the flag and consuming, you fools!

Anonymous said...

Calling all rednecks Republican IS racist!

Anonymous said...

Vote Democrat? BWAHHAHAAHHAAAA!!!! But then again, the democrats are fun to watch. Imagine if they actually had an agenda?

Anonymous said...

Anon 8:17:43,

OUCH!, but I love the - "...poorly educated white trash..." part. I agree, you can tell who they are from time to time when join the discussion. There's just no depth in their argument other than cussing and bitching about what they don't like.

Only country I've ever seen with so much ignorance thinking they are the rulers of th earth was the U.S.S.R

If you ever went there you'd see how similar an ignorant coomie party follower is to an America religious retarded redneck. lol

I just saw Bill Clinton on C-Span and NEVER, EVER thought I'd say this, but he sounded brilliant. I think the past 6 years have ground me down & lowered my expectations.

there is no one nation on this earth that can cause greater damage to americans then its own rulers.
this empire cares for its citizens about as much as it cares for its subjects.
retrench from empire and rebuild a greater nation.
so at some point in time america will have a second popular revolution, but before that happens
it will have to get much worse.

so to this end i support GW and his cronies, as they will bankrupt the nation and destroy it much more efficiently then anyone else i know.

bush will go down as the worst president in the history of the united states of america, and that's saying somthin

Anonymous said...

"bush will go down as the worst president in the history of the united states of america, and that's saying somthin"

People said the same thing about Lincoln during the Civil War. Now I'm not saying GWB is a modern Lincoln, but statements like yours are pretty ignorant since we have no historical perspective to judge current events.

I reluctantly voted for Bush in '04 because the alternative was an unstable, disturbed man.

Why can't liberals get over W winning? He won TWICE! LOL. I love to watch liberal squirm.

Sheeple=Liberals
Perma Renter=Liberals
House free & clear=Republicans

Seriously, do you know a Republican that is a perma renter?

I know dozens of perma renter Democrats. They've rented for 40+ years. That's stupid! They own nothing and have no savings. That's a Dumbocrat to me.

A lot of my republican/conservative friends and customers (I'm in the rural farm agri-business) could not pull the Dem lever come election time if their lives depended on it. But a majority has indicated that they would vote
for third party candidates, or preferably not at all to "punish"
the currant Republican administration AND congress majority
for what they believe is its betrayal of their core values.

Flag burning and gay marriage didn't work as a pacifier, even they weren't fooled.

Anonymous said...

Please don’t call those people in Mass. Liberals. The Latin root for Liberal is liber which means to be free. Those people in Mass are largely socialists. There is a big difference. Mass. has the most restrictive laws concerning firearms; I don't equate that with freedom.

Anonymous said...

I voted for them before I voted against them. (Indeed, it's true.)

Anonymous said...

"I just saw Bill Clinton on C-Span and NEVER, EVER thought I'd say this, but he sounded brilliant."

Yes, Clinton is a smart guy with a nearly perfect sense of what to say and how to act to gain favor. In other words, a perfect politician.

The problem with Clinton is his need to be liked never allowed him to make important decisions. Everything was half-assed and conciliatory. His presidency was worse off that GWB's in '95, and then he hired Dick Morris to run the country while Clinton ran for a second term. All of Clinton's "great achievements" were actually the doings of Dick Morris and Leon Panetta.

Fellows, there will be no revolution in America.

We'll have Hoovervilles, food riots, etc but no popular uprising.

America is not France, where there are countless uprisings and riots.

In general, the mainstream American believes that his govt will ultimately take care of things and even if the govt doesn't, the attitude is 'shit happens', not 'oh, let's gather around this Lenin guy, and see what he has to say'. That's Europe or Asia.

Australia has a preferential voting system, which could be used to vote the bastards out of office, if people weren't so scared of trying something different. Even Australians seem unsure of how to use this.

In a preferential voting system, you can select your first preference, but if you're not sure that you're first preference has a chance of winning, you number your subsequent preferences 2, 3, 4,... etc. If your first preference does not finnish 1st or 2nd (or possibly 3rd) on the initial count, your ballot goes to the candidate you numbered 2. This is an iterative process until all votes are distributed to the two leading candidates. Your vote is never wasted, no matter how extreme your vote is.

Peferential voting is optional or mandatory, depending on the election (federal, state or local). If it is optional, and you're not sure how to use it, you just put a 1 in your prefered candidates box.

I think a measure like this would make the US democratic system even more robust.

I personally would like something like the 22 Amendment to be added to the Australian Constitution, and applied to the position of Prime Minister.

Just a thought.

"I reluctantly voted for Bush in '04 because the alternative was an unstable, disturbed man."

That's strange, I'm certain I heard Dubya claim he was a "War President" and then turn around and called himself a "Peace President". But maybe what he meant was "piece".

Whatever he meant, it sounded so Orwellian.

Anonymous said...

"I reluctantly voted for Bush in '04 because the alternative was an unstable, disturbed man."

Good God...your brain must be totally non-functioning. You describe the alternative with the perfect description of Bush! Is everything you perceive in life backwards?

Anonymous said...

"People said the same thing about Lincoln during the Civil War."

Bush was a "C" student and a "C" president.

Ronald Reagan is supposedly popular even though he let the CIA sell dope to fund his covert war.

I don't blame Bush for wanting to throw out the constitution because the congress stopped funding Reagan's war and, obviously, Bush won't allow a repeat of that.

After reading Stirling Newburry's pieces over at tpmcafe.com, I have a lot more empathy for why Bush is being the bully he is-- because the mideast has raked in american dollars left and right, but I hope that Honda, for example, is succesful with their cellulose ethanol technolgy so we can get our national economy back!

To answer your question: it depends who Bush ran against. In general, I'm a Dennis Kucinich fan.

Lets see. Which mob were in power during the Savings and Loan debacle? What appears to be happening now?

Here is what wiki says about S&L:

The ultimate cost of the crisis is estimated to have totaled around USD$150 billion, about $125 billion of which was directly borne by the U.S. government, which contributed to the large budget deficits of the early 1990s.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savings_and_Loan_scandal

Sounds like one of those "rhymes" of history to me.

Seems you're afflicted by a case of hero worship or even hero envy. Just have another sip of Kool-Aid and all will be well.

A bill radically redefining and expanding the government's ability to eavesdrop and search the houses of U.S. citizens without court approval passed a key Senate committee Wednesday, and may be voted on by the full Senate as early as next week.
By a 10-8 vote, the Senate Judiciary Committee approved SB2453, the National Security Surveillance Act, which was co-written by committee's chairman Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pennsylvania) in concert with the White House. Click Here

You can bury your head in the sand and hope they go away, but all those years of appeasement have only emboldened our enemy (miltant Islam). I'll continue to vote for the candidates that see that clearly, no matter they're party affiliation.

P.S. that candidate was Ross Perot many yrs ago. And ironically he is the reason Clinton was elected.

Anonymous said...

Maybe your head is in the sand? Last time I checked our closest friend and ally in the Middle East was Israel. Our foreign policy has been closely tied to their interests since its inception. Hint: The interests of Israel are not the same interests as its Arab neighbors. We are not admired by many Arab nations for this reason. Appeasement of militant Islam? Come on, pull your head out and stop sipping the kool-aid. We are directly connected to this conflict and therefore put at risk. Not clearly understanding the facts will only endanger us further.
