Iran Rejects Offer For Nuclear Talks

Iran's response:

The Iranian government has told senior European officials that it will not accept the only condition set by the Bush administration and its Western allies for talks on the country's nuclear program and will continue enriching uranium, despite the threat of international sanctions, several senior U.S. and European officials said yesterday.

US's response:

The United States threatened to push quickly for economic sanctions against Iran in the UN Security Council if it fails to heed demands for a freeze of its uranium enrichment activities.

"We will obviously study the Iranian response carefully, but we are also prepared, if it does not meet the terms set (by six major powers), to proceed here in the Security Council ... with economic sanctions," Bolton told reporters.

HP's response:

Iran is smartly playing the delay, delay, delay game. Oil is still near its record high, and only going to go higher. Thus the money is still pouring into Iran's coffers. They can play this game for a long time (and keep the price of oil up). Knowing Bush's record unpopularity, Israel's recent loss, the fact that our military is bogged down in Iraq, and their buddy-buddy relationship with Russia and China, and this can drag out for quite some time.

Unless Bush says "F it" and let's the dogs loose.

Meanwhile, those houses in the far-flung suburbs lose value faster and faster, GM and Ford can't lay people off fast enough, and the shopping malls become quieter and quieter...

Oil prices would have already tanked had BP not chosen to reveal it's corroded pipes at this time. Remember whistle blower employees have been complaining about the corrosian for the better part of the last decade. If the brinksmanship v/Iran were to end, big oil will simply "find" more pipeline problems and remove other oil supplies from the market.

Here in Norfolk Va. Ford is planning to close the F-150 plant in 2008, but its going to be a lot sooner then that. American car builders have really dropped the ball. It's the only product (F-150)that had been making money and even that model is suffering from high gas prices and the better value Toyota Tundra. Ford first dumped tons of money into the plant and then close it. Great job ford. Oh please don't buy any F-150s can you say upset workers.
American is not making anything but overpriced houses and service jobs.

The United States is acting like the proverbial over-the-hill pot-bellied bully, being instigated and controlled by the more intelligent and diminuitive miscreant who is fearful of outsiders and disdains pork. All the US has left is it's military might and past reputation. Our crediter is a communist distatorship that could cut our financial legs off tommorrow. Our fiscal budgets are bloated and in deficit, our capital assets are in decline, our middle class is disappearing, and we have lost our manufacturing base. WE cannot even secure our borders from the illegal alien invasion. Rising oil prices are water eating at our declining economy built on sand. So, we lash out and steal other's oil in the name of freedom and self-defense. We are a pathetic overfed narcissistic declining power that thinks it rules the world and can dictate to any other nation. But, this is all bluster and bluff vis-a-vis Iran. Only our loyalty to the little haughty interloper that compels us to tempt calamity. Iraq mightily proves that invasions and control of oil reserves does not reduce the price of oil - rather, it drives it higher. Any military action against Iran that causes a disruption of already stretched oil supply lines will cause a price spike that could well be fatal to the US economy. We are in the weaker position vis-a-via Iran ,anf Iran, China and Russia know it. Think Rome, 3rd century: economically failing, corrupt at the top, vainglorious and self-deluded.

To Bush, I paraphrase Augustus, with rage: "Give me back my republic?"

Little wonder that permits for new private housing are down 20.5% year over year and that new housing starts are down 13.3% year over year. What will we do with the millions of illegal Mexicans when construction jobs dry up?

Wage data covering 82% of all private sector jobs show that the purchasing power of weekly wages today is less than it was when the economic recovery began in November 2001. What kind of economic recovery is it when the purchasing power of wages falls instead of rises?

In my opinion, the recovery was artificial. It was based on extremely low interest rates orchestrated by the Federal Reserve. The low interest rates discouraged saving, but the low rates reduced the mortgage cost of real estate, inflated home prices and encouraged consumers to refinance their homes and to spend the equity.

The federal government has been overspending its income also, and has wasted a minimum of $300 billion on an illegal, pointless, and lost war that has turned Iraq into a terror zone.

How much longer the world will trade Americans real goods for pieces of paper that the US economy cannot redeem with tradable goods and services.

Considering the loss of good jobs, the high debt burden, and the dependence on imports, it is unclear what will enable America to pull herself out of the next recession.

Perhaps growing ranks of the unemployed will become cannon fodder for Bush’s wars in the Middle East.

Oh, I’ve got a great idea, and we could solve two problems real quick. NUKE THE EFFER!

1st Problem – We eliminate a thorn in America’s side in an instant. Though oil would skyrocket in the short run, it would likely drop considerably in long run because the NAZI regime would be dead, along with millions of moon god loving muslims. SOLVED!

2nd Problem – We would also send a valuable warning to the rest of the moon god loving tyrants around the world that America means business, and we are not afraid to completely flatten the entire islamic world. SOLVED!

I know that sounds awfully extreme … but I live in the REAL WORLD, and I think there’s a real good chance it will happen sometime in my lifetime. BTW, I’m 29.

It's 1938 all over again, and pussy-whiped Americans now play the role of the pussy-whipped Brits and Frogs in the opening round. I have to LOL at the conspiracy mongers who on one hand think GWB is as dumb as a rock, and then they put him at the head of an international conspiracy to control oil prices. Get a clue you fools, less than 10% of the world's oil is produced by the majors (the companies conspiracy nuts claim Dick Cheney manages), the rest comes from national oil companies in the ME, Venezuela, nad Mexico. Or are you going to claim that village-idiot Bush controls them as well?

The real story is we are about to get a taste of Islamic atomic jihad. UN blue helmets and "no blood for oil" signs waved by aging hippies aren't going to mean much when it breaks loose.

Sane action plan to save the republic:

1-ITMFA (Impeach the Mother F-er Already)
2-Put a stake thru Cheney, plus shoot a silver bullet. You know those evil living - sometimes won't stay dead.
3-Illegal alien-> Rapid citinzeship plan which involves 7 yrs service in US Army "Foreign Legion" Division (think French foreign legion) or you are out of here - bounty for illegal catched.
4- Deploy foreign legion to replace our illustrious Iraqui Military Industrial War profiteering complex, that can't seen to do anything straight or compentently even at $5billion a contract.
5-Crash program to build Nuclear power plants, that provide electricity and hydrogen thru electrolysis. Crash program for cellullosic ethanol. BIG tax write-off & grant for Solar Homes & Geothermal HVAC - a la BPSolar.com.
6- Nationalize the railroad tracks. Just like England -Gov't Authority will own the tracks. Private business will run the trains, just like presently done with Trucks & highways and planes & airport. It will make the most efficient transportation mode financial competetive with the others. Create high speed passengers & high speed cargo (different needs for track design) lines that are all electrified.
7- Lock up all the Neoconservatives for "Treason" and get Charles Manso to do a "Coup de Grace" shot.

Anybody else have any ideas.....

After an 11-minute debate, the US House of Representatives lifts ban on international sales of the nation's most advanced fighter, the F-22 Raptor. Click Here

It may be just a rumor, but according to Israel’s leading news web site:

“The United States may supply Israel with the most advanced stealth fighter jet in the world – the F22 Raptor – considering the war in Lebanon and the Iranian threat, the Israeli security establishment has assessed. US officials have apparently hinted to Israel lately that as part of American efforts in the international war on the “axis of evil,” the US would offer Israel to buy the stealth fighter. Click here

America should just come out and tell Iran to "go ahead" with its program. We should shift the responsibility and future blame to others. Let Russia sell missles to Iran, and France invest in their nuclear programs. Let Iran have a nuke. Why should we care?

To shake a big stick gets us no where. Europe gladly lets us take the beating for protecting them.

America should just say, "Look, we have no interest in war or dominating your region or telling you how to live. If you want a nuke, fine, but once you join the "big boys club" all hands are off the table. Provoke war, invade another country, provoke terrorism outside Iran and your get out of jail free card is revoked. Nuke for nuke and no matter how many they can build, ten? Our thousands will bring hell's fire down upon all of your country, plain and simple. You want to play?

Your ideas, though maybe creative, but complicated. Remember, they don't think the same way we do and they don't play fair and square. Just talk to those people, not all, but by and large, more than half of what they're saying are not true. Lying is part of their culture. They're thrilled when they can out smart someone.

Therefore, why take the chance, when you can do it now with greater advantage.

Tom quoted unnamed source:

"US officials have apparently hinted to Israel lately that as part of American efforts in the international war on the “axis of evil,” the US would offer Israel to buy the stealth fighter."

Well, there you have it. On the one hand we ostensibly admit to conducting a war against the "axis of evil" (a.k.a. Iraq, Iran and North Korea). On the other hand, we can't understand why the later two member nations are fearfuland hostile and attempting to obtain or have already obtained nuclear technology. Now the US is determined to throw gasoline on the smoldering fire by giving Israel the ultimate destabilizing and outright offensive weaponry, stealth fighter jets. Incredible!

The arrogance of the United States is only exceeded by the indescribably obnoxious and haughty superiority complex of the Israelis. I'm an American and I too have come to hate and despise our government and this administration.

Several years ago, when Mandela said the USA was the worst terrorist on the globe and Bush was insane, I though him mad. Now I can see: he was absolutely correct.

Israel's Double Standard

Why is Israel not held to the same standards as other nations?
Why is it that those who resist an illegal occupation of their land are considered freedom fighters except for those who resist an illegal Israeli occpation? In that case they are considered terrorists.
Why is it that when Israel abducts more than 9000 Palestinians this is called an arrest but when Hamas or Hezbollah abducts 2 Israeli soldiers it is called a kidnap?
Why is it when Hamas or Hezbollah fires a rocket into Israel it is considered an act of provocation but when Israel deliberatelly shells a Palestinian beach and kills 7 members of one family it is considered an act of self-defense? Why does there exist such a double-standard? Why is that?
Why is it okay for the United States to supply Israel with cluster bombs and precision guided missiles and billions more of military weapons but wrong for Iran or Syria to supply Hezbollah with Kytusha rockets?
Why is it wrong for Iran to cultivate nuclear weapons when its neighbor, Israel, has hundreds of nuclear weapons aimed at it on land and on sea?
Why is it that U.N. Security Resolutions against Hezbollah must be complied with but those against Israel are ignored? Why the double standard?

"Several years ago, when Mandela said the USA was the worst terrorist on the globe and Bush was insane, I though him mad. Now I can see: he was absolutely correct."

So what is your solution to Islamic extremism? IIRC, a guy named Clinton ignored it for eight years as their attacks against us increased. We even "helped" their side in Kosovo by bombing the sh_t out of the Serbs and got rid of "radical" Netanyahu by sending James Carvile over to rig the election in Israel. Clinton never kissed Yasser Arafat's smelly ass, but he came close.

None of this made a bit of difference in the aim and goals of radical Islam. Apologists and appeasers will suffer the same fate as any other infidel -- fool. It's 1938 and the clock is ticking.

Because Israel doesn't go around proclaiming its desire for a New Caliphate, and threatening to wipe other countries "off the map"? If you can't see the distinctions between a civilized country and radical Islam, then you deserve the fate that awaits you.

We wouldn't be at odds with the Islamic nations if we weren't financing and arming Israel, invading and bombing whole nations, propping up a dictatorship in Saudi Arabia, installing puppet rulers, and meddling in the affairs of that region. We are getting stung because we insist on poking at the hive. If the US left that region and simply transacted oil on a commercial basis, islamofascism would not be confronting us. And oil is only worthless black fluid until someone wants to buy it. Arabian oil is only valuable to those who need it and will pay for it. There is no reason for US militarism in that region. Oil is an international commodity - it's origin is irrelevant. We are there for one primary reason: Israel. We should cut ourselves loose from that albatross and let her deal with her neighbors. The arabs will still sell us their oil.

Of course, we don't want to buy it: we want to control it and steal it. The primary reasons the US and Israel are a hardon for Iran are:

1. Iran has dared to question the primacy of the US dollar as world reserve reserve currency and de facto petrodollar - Iran has threatened to sell oil directly for Euros. Without a obligate dollars-for-oil linkage, the US dollar would collapse.
2. Iran dared to ask a question: What exactly happened during the Holocaust? Aren't you sick and tired of paranoid hypersensitive Jews telling you want you can and cannot ask and think under threat of being called Anti-Semite and Hitler.
3. Iran stands as de facto leader of Arabia and is an obstacle to American-Israeli dreams of dominating Arabia and controlling the world's last great oil reserves.

The world's oil has peaked and production will shortly start decline. The North Sea oil has been in decline for years. Now, the Alaskan pipeline has been shut down because of internal corrosion of the steel piping. Why is it corroding? Oil does not corrode metal, it insulates and protects it. The pipeline is corroding because three fourths of the volume flowing through the pipeline is sea water. This tells us that BP is pumping huge amounts of water into the wells at Prudhoe Bay, a technique applied only when well oil head pressures are dropping because the well has peaked and is in decline. Get it?

I would only add that (as u know)

Canterell is in steep decline
Kuwaits Burgan field in steep decline
North Sea - 8-12%
and Ghawar is discussed in Matt Simmons - Twilight in the Desert - as declining catastophically in a year or less.

Not to mention the cliff we stand on related to Natural Gas...Iran happens to have the worlds second largest reserve on natural gas only behind Boliva - now Chaves and Morales have teamed up.

Once CNN starts to name call these two presidents - Keith will jump in an bad mouth them as well...huh Keith?

OK boycot, since you are the typical lazy, libtard appeaser, here is a link for your perusal RE the Caliphate:

http://neareastpolicy.com/content/view/43/0/

"Tehran has openly declared its ambition to be the leader of the “Islamic World,” and to form an “Islamic bloc” to impose the Iranian model of religious government on Iraq, Afghanistan, and beyond. This “Islamic Caliphate” would be armed with nuclear weapons and long-range missiles to impose its terms on a world that looks on incredulously and seeks to negotiate and bargain with an increasingly confident and belligerent state-sponsor of terrorism."

Another reason to believe they seek a Caliphate is the placement of numerous denials in Islamic publications around the world. Google them yourself, lazy ass.

the world wasn't brought to its knees. america just found out that it wasn't as strong as it thought it was and had a big panic attack. since then it has been banging its head on a brick wall it helped to build over many decades of nutty interference in the middle east.

I have a hard time believing that Dick and George are all that bothered about $75/barrel oil prices or higher. Their buddies in Texas and Wyoming are rolling in it right now.
Russia is thoroughly enjoying its cashflow situation as the price of oil surges to triple digits.

If anyone should be pissed off about high oil prices, besides the USA, it would be China. No one - not even Lincoln-Navigator-driving-Americans, is more thirsty for inexpensive oil right now.

If UN countries pose economic sanctions against Iran, it may take several years for them to gain any traction.

The bad news for Iran is this means everyone is positioned against them, not just the USA. OK, maybe not Syria and North Korea, but most Arab countries including S.Arabia and Pakistan would side with the UN's sanctions.

My question would be how or whether the oil producing nations would or could make up for the Iranian shortfall?

"As one Iranian exile told me yesterday: 'The trouble with you secular people is that you don't realise how firmly Ahmadinejad believes - literally - in things like the winged horse. By choosing this date for his decision, he is telling his followers that he is going to obey his religious duty.

'And he believes that his religious duty is to create chaos and bloodshed in the "infidel" world, in order to hasten the return of the Mahdi - the Hidden Imam. So don't expect him to behave, in your eyes, "reasonably".'

So who is this Hidden Imam? He was a direct descendant of the Prophet Mohammed who, at the age of five, disappeared down a well around AD940. He will only return after a period of utter chaos and bloodshed, whereupon peace, justice and Islam will reign worldwide. "
