He who controls the oil controls the game

Damn it. Where is Pat Robertson when you need him? He could sort this out in a jiffy.

>>>amazing to see a new axis forming against the US - iran, north korea, venezuela, russia, syria, bolivia, cuba and the terrorist groups (hezbollah, hamas, al quaida)
I wonder if they have a weekly conference call

Yes, its scary, but push comes to shove we can still go against them if we have to.

My take:

- Cuba, Venezuela do not matter. We can eliminate them overnight as a strategic issue. Though we do buy heavy oil from Venezuela and have invested in infrastructure to refine it.

- Iran, Syria, etc. I am really glad we have "pre-positioned" or forward deployed a large US force in the region. If Iran wants to go after Israel it has to go through the US in Iraq, good luck with that. Air, missles, etc. from Iran Israel can deal with that. Syria, forget it, Israel will walk through them as well.

- Russia, I think they will sit this one out in the end. No use in a world war over some retarded countries.

- China, I think they will sit to. They like selling us stuff, and push comes to shove, one US Trident has more MIRV capacity than their whole land based liqued fueld ICBM force capable of hitting the US. As long as we have a President with balls enough to make it clear the Nuclear option is very much on the table, they will limit their involvement to selling weapons. They may make a play for Taiwan while we are occupied though.

Risk of a set of global wars? Yes, but will can defend our interests in the end.

My attempt at Tom Clancy:

- Iran goes for Israel, has to go through the US, and we get mixed up with Israel and Syria.

- North Korea goes for South Korea while we are occupied.

- China goes for Taiwan while we are occupied.

- Chavez goes for some local country who does not agree with him while we are occupied.

Good news is other than mid east oil and economic fallout, we are pretty safe. Non of these turds will touch the continental USA without the risk of big US nuclear hit.

Imagine their thinking, lets see what will they (US) hit us with?

- Trident
- B2
- B1B
- B-52's with cruise missles
- Last resort, land based 'PeaceKeeper' ICBM's

I wonder what the Romans would do to these two f_cks?

They may invade their countries without the worry of what others think (including those on the Security Council of the UN), kill and in slave everyone in sight, and then hang these two bastards from a cross. These two banana republics would then become part of the Empire, and take ownership of all resources, including oil!

Problem Solved!

Armchair strategist now. Which ones do you use? Assume once its used, we have reduced our capabilities in that area.

- Attack of a North Korea, Iran, etc. Use planes with cruise missles, B2's, etc. Stick to military targets only. Their people in the cities are hostages of the crazy's who run the place, so minimize causualties. Keep the really strategic stuff such as Tridents and land based ICBM's in reserve.

- Must take out a China, suddenly, launch the Tridents off their cost for a 10 min flying time. Stick to their nuclear capabilities.

- Russia, or China first launch on the US. Empty the land based ICBM's silo's on their major cities. This is the "MAD" theory, and it still works. No sense in going for their military targets since they have already prepared and launched. This keeps Tridents lurking for cleanup.

that should read "off their coast"

Dear armchair strategists:

1) Successful strategic weapons are never used.

2) China has been gearing up for asymmetric warfare. You of course know they control the Panama Canal and could close it at any time?

3) When faced with a nuclear-armed adversary, the calculus for American Presidents is this: which major city are you willing to sacrifice to achieve your immediate goal? North Korea knows this, and that's why the Iranians are hell bent to join the club.

Bush is the agressor. He
created the false metaphor "War on Terror"

Unfortunately for him we only pay tribute to leaders that focused on Peace rather than War.

JFK
MLK
Ghandi

History shows we hate agressors

Stalin
Saddam Hussein
Hitler

and now good ole George W. Bush.

"The Bureau had been studying the gasification of coal and purification of the coal gas at Morgantown in space made available in West Virginia University buildings."

Let's see, 1955 to 2006, over fifty years, yep, we could have been out of the middle east a long time ago if we'd made energy independence a Manhattan project.

At its peak in early 1944, the German synfuels effort produced more than 124,000 barrels per day from 25 plants.

I think the USA consumes 25 million barrels of oil per day.

Anonymous said...

So many fascists on this blog. They have the right to sell, or not to sell, to whomever they do or don't want to sell it. Most of you people act as if they have an unlimited quantity of the stuff and it is our right to as much of it as we want. Bush has caused these people to gain power because of his incompetent diplomacy and militaristic methods. Eat that repug boys!

Anonymous said...

let's not forget that the population of Germany is WAY less than that of the USA........we consume more cause there's more of us. If they sent a guy to the moon (which I personally don't believe) then producing a synthetic form of oil should be child's play.

:124,000 barrels per day from 25 plants.

Simple answer, America's a bigger country and has plenty of room for more plants or bigger plants.

Jip said...

Just let Iraq go back to it's pre-WWI state. Sadly, Turkey is standing in the way of that idea.

Anonymous said...

One minor fly in the synfuel ointment: It takes several thousand gallons of water and millions of BTUs of external energy to produce a single barrel of oil from coal, tar sand, or oil shale. The BTUs are no problem, they can come from a nuke plant (right you greenies?), but the water is the real showstopper. Where the heck are you going to get that much water, and how are you going to clean it up after they're done playing with it?

War-time Germany didn't give a rat's ass about environmental issues, and our fledgling synfuel efforts in the '40s and '50s weren't much different. With all of the environmental overhead we have today, none of these synfuel scenarios could ever happen. Just forget about it.

I would like you all to consider this: It is a Stretch, but a Dose of Reality.

GLOBAL JEHAID

Warning: DO not read this unless you agree that The Movement in the Extreme Muslim Middle East is an eventual goal of Cleansing the world of Infidels (us) and creating a Religious World Government. If you do not believe this, go do some research, then come back and read my pretend scenario.

Imagine the Muslims now run the world. President Bush has been thrown out of office by all of his haters and enemies world wide and opened up a free hand to the Terror Movement. Also, removed were all of the Leaders of the "free world". Russia and China are in with the Oil Rich Middle East, and The UK, USA, Canada etc. are under control of Hezbolla, Al Quedia, and the lot. Israel has been totally destroyed, to the great delight of many Middle East Religious leaders.

The only religious freedom is praying to Allah, with the "call to pray", which means drop to your knees where you stand, is now blasted by a massive sound system through out every city in America, thrice daily,
and you drop to your knees or you are put to death.

Women may not drive, wear make up or work, by law.

Men are the sole breadwinners, by law.

All male children over age 14 are put into Armed service, by law.

All people answer absolutely, without question, to a Muslim religious leader or are driven under ground to pray, talk, even read. (V for Vendetta looks like a walk in the park.)

No one is allowed to vote.

You may not purchase Real Estate unless you are part of the religious power. The Government owns 50% of all of your businesses, which must donate to and adhere to the Muslim Religious doctrines.

The new leader of the Global Economy, and all of the Former Free World is based in Germany with the Fed Bank, which is very established in the Middle East, and is aligned with the New World Leaders, Saudi, Iran, Dubai, Pakistan, Syria, Russia, China, North Korea, Libya, etc.

Mass deaths are the norm in every city in the US, as there are many Americans who will not convert to the Governments Religion. Many are still killed by suicide bombers of the enemies of the different Muslim Sects, which have been at war for hundreds of years and have brought their martyr bombers to the cities of the USA. The stateside suicide bombers are a daily happening in cafes, school buses, and malls. Their
efforts are to kill the new religious leaders, just like their fathers the martyrs before them. The reason? They do not practice the same Muslim beliefs as their Muslim beliefs are, so they must die.

Mexico has closed their borders to ANY Americans trying to immigrate to Mexico, because there are not enough resources in Mexico to absorb the massive wave of Americans trying to sneak into our Southern neighbor’s borders.

You Get the Picture. Be careful what you wish for.

It is very Posh and in Vogue to Bash Bush, but I can tell you, IMO it is a mild form of Treason in that it is an "atta boy" for the terror side.

I AM A PASSIFIST, TREE HUGGER! Do you want someone like me in office or a Military Leader that has a father that is friends with all of these oil guys?????

They will never stop killing each other in the Middle East. We can only stop them from coming to Europe, UK and the Americas.

The Tyranny Doctrine

by Danielle Pletka and Michael Rubin
Los Angeles Times
May 26, 2006

Is it possible that the administration is questioning the wisdom of promoting democracy as a long-term solution to U.S. national security woes? "Realists" suggest that the president has finally woken up and smelled the coffee. They say democracy gave us an Islamist government in Iraq and Hamas in Palestine. It could give us the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. Heaven knows what it would spawn in China or Libya. Better the devil you know.

To the armchair strategist who wrote:

"My take:

What kind of jungle law do you live by in personal life? Do you go around killing people who "do not matter" if they pose (or rather, if you perceive they pose) a threat?

Do you have the intelligence to distinguish that people's lives are not a video game? Or are you a hypocrite when it comes to other people's lives?

Pathetic. You're a good illustration of what's wrong with the U.S. in its attitude towards the rest of the world.

If the U.S. were a person, it'd be diagnosed as a sociopath who is a menance to himself and the rest of the world, thanks to individuals like you.

Some neo-con wackjob moron said the following...

"It is very Posh and in Vogue to Bash Bush, but I can tell you, IMO it is a mild form of Treason in that it is an "atta boy" for the terror side."

Bush's policies have indebted this government beyond belief, has bogged down our military in the middle of a civil war, has reduced our credibility as a military, economic and diplomatic force and provided the terrorist leaders with an enormous supply of enraged young muslim men who now have experience fighting the US military. In short he continues to pursue his own agenda to the benefit of some but to the extreme detriment of the USA, thats treason and he should be charged.

-- Survival. I do not go out and look for a fight. If Chavez and the likes want to bluster they can go ahead. My point that they do not matter is that they will not attack the US, not that we go and run them over. Let them bluster...

As for personal life, I do not go out and attack someone, even if they bluster. But if they break into my house at night and threaten my family, different story and I am prepared to deal with it. I say the US is the same way. Chavez does not matter because we can defeat him easily, no that I am advocating we strike him. So let him bluster....

If we are so bad, why don't we own Cuba already?

As for energy, why's everyone forgotten Canada's sand tars up in Alberta? There's more oil there than the whole of the middle east.
