Someone at RE/MAX missed the memo: Housing sales plummeting, not soaring

From Sacramento Landing... Wouldn't this violate some kind of truth in advertising law? Soaring, I don't think so...

April 2006, % Sales volume change from prior year, California Association of Realtors

Sacramento: -38%
Central Valley: -33%
California: -21%
San Francisco Bay: -20%

Yes. Organize a protest in front of Remax.

Maybe they mean "soaring off a cliff"?

"soaring into the abyss?"

Maybe they meant to say "Home sales sore"

or sour

Not sinking like the Titanic, but soaring like the Hindenberg.

I really do think this is false advertisement, and should not be legal. It is sickening to think realtors are still making outrageous lies as this market continues to falter.

The bigger the lie the bigger to fall... Reality cannot be altered.

BTW that was the quote Stephen Colbert said at the Washington Correspondents Dinner. He applied the imagery to the curent administration. Too funny!

I went flying around Huntsville, AL yesterday. Have not been in almost 3 years. What a difference. The surrounding area has really built-up with developments. There are many new ones sprouting up.

I would say thet the RE market here is still doing very well. they are anticipating many jobs coming in from BRAC, if it gets funded. I have mixed opinions on this. I hate to see the congestion and sprawl, but the local economy growing is good.

I suppose that RE is local. Anyone know how to track inventory in this area? Madison County / Huntsville, AL.

Does anyone knows what happens when a company goes private or delisted, for example, William Lyon Home.

keith : pick up gold ,,,fast.get on the gravy train. Or it will be too late.
Gold to $1000.00

I am still buying gold coins. Long term insurance that I hope I never have to use.

nice call on that gold bounce...oh ait we didn't really get one. Homebuilders up strong too. The Keith indicator is great.

There are stories that WLS is taking "his" company private to avoid having to open the books to regulators.

You guys don't get it. Building activity is NOT a leading indicator because most of it is funded by deals made 6-12 months ago.

It's like Wyle Coyote who just ran off the cliff - he's still moving along just fine, then he looks down...

..."Homebuilders up strong too"...

What data are you looking at?

Anonymous said...

He is not looking at data, just his own pathetic self who got shafted.

Poor sap.

CTX up 6.2%

actually, you suck. Simply pointing out lame Keith is...calling for gold pop, and shorting homebuilders. That trade is not paying. Go back to watching Ellen or something.

I've made over $100,000 so far buying puts on homebuilders.

It's working great for me.

If Remax was accused of false advertising, they would say the word "soar" is referring to the "soaring" of their hot air balloons. Those puns happen all the time in ads, and they are usually bad ones.

Actually, speaking of hot air, maybe a more appropriate slogan should be "We are full of hot air."

Someone NEEDS to hack that bulletin Board. fer seriously. a big old hand, with a big old pin. A little paint, and you are good to go.

(have you noticed forsale and pending signs going up where the sales were months ago?)
