I think Israel has had enough - and so has the housing bubble

Wow - Israeli fighter jets flying over Syria's President's house, an invasion of Gaza, heck, go for the trifecta and take out Iran's nuke plants too.

The other shoe is looking for a place to drop. An international conflict could be the final nail in the housing bubble coffin as liquidity dries up, markets fall and consumer confidence plummets.

Yes, easy to be a badass when the biggest kid on the block will run in and protect you every time.

Israel seems determined to make the world it's servant. Typical behavior for those people.

And the typical behavior for those people who are "funded" by us, tax payers of the US...

this could be the beginning of the end.

How very biblical.

Didn't realize this was an anti-jewish site. How little most American's know about the Palastinian/Israeli conflict. Don't forget that in 1948 the UN create TWO states, one Palastinian and one Jewish. The Arabs launched a war that did nothing to destroy the Jewish state but Syria, Jordon, Egypt all absorbed the Palastinian state created by the Un. They created the refugee problem and then after 70 years still don't allow those "refugees" to be citizens in the countries they currently live! The sooner the arab nations accept a Jewish state in the middle east the sooner all nations will have peace and prosper.

Oh, and talk only about Palastinian refugees? Don't forget that in 1948 most arab nations expelled their jews who had no where to go save Israel. There were losers on all sides. Look at Iraq that has had jews since the Babylonian captivity, today there are less than ten elderly jews left in all of Iraq and if the fundamentalists have their way there will be no christians either.

Typical behavior for "those people?" Give me a break. They withdrew from Gaza and what did that accomplish? Peace? Jesus said, "turn the other cheek" that didn't mean capitulate, in those days you slapped a slave with your right hand because he was LESS THAN YOU. By turning the other cheek you forced him to slap you with his LEFT HAND making you his EQUAL.

I do agree with Ghandi that "an eye for an eye" only leaves everyone blind but the culture of the middle east is savage, tribal, clanish, doesn't even respect its own religion...after all Sunnis believe Shiites are infidels and deserve death!

I doubt China, Russia, or a lot of other countries would act any differently if they had the same situation on their borders. Oh, Europe might...look at how they capitulated to Hitler (especially the French) they might and then expect eveyone else to come save them.

Oh and a world war? That will definitely mop up excessive capacity and supply and maybe reduce millions of homes to rubble then the building can start all over again for the next bubble.

yup, let Isreal do our work of destroying islamic fanatics.

Islamic fanatics beget reason and the freedom of thought and speech with blind supernatural beliefs.

That being said I've got a nice Mohammad cartoon I'll sell you.

Thanks for the summary of the history of the area Foxwoodlief.

It is distressing to me that for some reason it is becoming "cool" to be radically anti Israel and pro Palestinian.

There is enough blame to go around folks. Read your history.

And to the other fanatical poster- yes I'm one of those horrible liberals. Some of us can see both sides.

"In the age of Manifest Destiny, this idea, which came to be known as "Indian Removal", gained ground. Although some humanitarian advocates of removal believed that Indians would be better off moving away from whites, an increasing number of Americans regarded the natives as nothing more than "savages" who stood in the way of American expansion."

Obviously, might makes right. History will be written by the victors. “An Oct. 27, 2000 Congressional Research Service (CRS) report, using available and verifiable numbers, gives cumulative aid to Israel from 1949 through FY 2000 (which ended Sept. 30, 2000) at $81.38 billion.” So long as the money keeps flowing Israel will have the might.

Anonymous said...

$81.38 billion in 56 years makes just 1.45 bil a year to support tiny single more or less democratic state in the region. Hmm, we spent more on Iraq every week... If Israel was destroyed without this help, would you feel better, poor Tom?

Not sure if the anti-Israel people are liberals but I'm SURE the pro-Israel people are conservatives. Conservatives ALWAYS side with the more powerful side in ANY dispute. Management over workers, police over the accused, rich over poor, you name it. Conservatives NEVER take the side of the underdog.

We can't allow 3 million people in Israel to destroy the world. Relocate them all to NYC first.

When do we stop bending over backwards for them?

Anonymous said...

I love this forum of uneducated antisemites...

Anonymous said...

I love how the anti-Israel camp always talks about Israel only being strong because it's so rich, well-armed and propped up by the U.S. This was far from the case in 1948, when a bunch of ragged holocaust survivors and indigenous Jews were attached on all sides by every Arab country in the mid-East, and ended up fighting them off. Israel IS the underdog, surrounded by how many hundreds of millions of fanatics born and raised to hate and kill...

Oh, and by the way, I'm jewish, hard core left-wing (LOATHE conservatives), and pro-Israel.

I have nothing against the people of Israel or Palestine. “Natural expansion” of settlements to further the “Greater Israel” is just my imagination. Ha! Hey our hands are just as dirty with our own manifest destiny too. “Theft, murder and warfare, forced removal, deception, and official government land programs have deprived them (Native Americans) of their territories.” We all know what the deal is. So go ahead and finish it. It’s just that as an atheist I happen to have some morality. Just keep us out of it, do it with your own money and let your own international image suffer by itself. We already have enough on our plate. Oh, sorry, forgot about those strategic American objectives. Forget what I just wrote… Who do I make the check out to?

Make the check out to me, Tom.

Tom, do you understand your own posting? Could you please be more coherent?

Pew Research Center that finds 34 percent of adults are very happy.
...
The survey, released this week, points out several disparities based on lifestyle, beliefs and political persuasion:

Republicans are happier than Democrats.
People who worship frequently are happier than those who don't.
The rich are happier than the poor.
Whites and Hispanics are happier than blacks.
Married people are happier than the unmarried.
Dog owners and cat owners rate the same.
Sunbelt residents are happier than everyone else.
Read full paper, you bitter, angry, usless clowns :-)

RE: the last post... well, I'm married, and not at all sure I'm happier than when I was unmarried. So that calls the entire methodology into question.

what the hell has Israel done for the U.S. lately anyway? The Arabs sell us oil, so do the Mexicans and the Canadians. Why the hell should the U.S. fight the increasingly hostile Iranians over stinking Israel? What is our strategic interest there anyway? Why doesn't their G-d smite their enemies for them? I am very confused about this whole damn thing. Oh wait, there's my answer, it's right on the back of my money.

Dear Bugsy :-) you were ordered to change your pants, it's un-American to stink... especially that much. Get yourself some friends, if you understand the meaning of this word... here I can't help you...

Anonymous said...

Anonypuss,

Lo siento amigo. I thought you said: "change yopur pants." I took that to be some kind of gay Jewish blessing. ;-)

You can think Bugsy?

"They would start WW3 over one zit faced teenager? Talk about paranoid."

Sure thing Bugsy boy. When the day comes and that size-15 jack boot is planted firmly on your neck, I'm sure your "Can't we all just get along?" bullsh_t will carry the day.

Maybe people like you deserve the ovens.

Just look at the map of Israel in 1948 and now. Any questions? Got em all rounded up, cut the food, water, electricity. A few more years to go.

http://tinyurl.com/k7nup

"The United Nations' relief chief says Israel's targeting of a Gaza strip power station is counter to international law and disproportionately affects civilians." " The attack left most of Gaza's 1.4 million residents without electricity." "Air strikes have since cut off bridges and water supplies."

We got Iran surrounded so here's your chance.

Israel is just stirring up a big steaming kettle of $hit. They think that they should be the only ones to have lots and lots of nukes in the ME, what a joke. I wonder where they would deploy those weapons if say 500 of their troops were killed. But of course it's not tribal. Don't worry little sister, big brother's got your back.

Is there much of a real estate bubble in Gaza? What is the condo market like? Many condo conversions going on?

Anonymous said...

How did you manage to find Israel on the map, Tom?

Anonymous said...

The guy from BBC forum had it best:
"Take heed, ye Defence Ministers from the rest of the world, for this is the way to lift your Army's morale! A soldier is asked to risk everything for his country knowing that his country will risk everything for him. Well done, Israel and IDF!"
Bugsy-wussy, did you get it?

foxwoodlief: "They withdrew from Gaza and what did that accomplish?"

Gaza is a 2:nd WW Warschaw-style getto of desperate people. Its not a country.

As for Israel; they havent redrawed yet to the legal borders of 1967, and what have that accomplish? US wordpolice/Empire-ambitions are soon on the brink of collapse, with peak oil, hollowed out economy + all the other escalating domestic problems, so they cannot help and support Israel forever either.
