Iran: Poor misunderstood Mahmoud, he writes a nice letter to Bush, and gets the Heisman

Boy, Mahmoud really is nuts. Really nuts.

Here's some excerpts - why don't they release the whole letter I wonder? Well, at least my ConocoPhillips stock will be going up today!

Does anyone have any doubt that this won't end badly? This guy's not backing down. He's preparing his people for the final battle between good and evil, so the Hidden Imam will reappear. Seriously.

"Lies were told in the Iraqi matter. What was the result? I have no doubt that telling lies is reprehensible in any culture, and you do not like to be lied to."

"Those in power have a specific time in office and do not rule indefinitely, but their names will be recorded in history and will be constantly judged in the immediate and distant futures."

"How much longer will the blood of the innocent men, women and children be spilled on the streets, and people's houses destroyed over their heads? Are you pleased with the current condition of the world? Do you think present policies can continue?"

"History tells us that repressive and cruel governments do not survive. God has entrusted the fate of men to them."

"Liberalism and Western-style democracy have not been able to help realize the ideals of humanity. Today these two concepts have failed. Those with insight can already hear the sounds of the shattering and fall of the ideology and thoughts of the liberal democratic systems."

He may be crazy.

But he's not crazy enough to believe a war of nuclear destruction will herald the return of Mohammed. Or that all the Islamic faithful will fly naked into the sky and meet Mohammed in mid-air.

And just when was the last time Iran attacked another country? It's not as if Iran has a long record of military aggression in the region.

We are truly screwed.

mr. smith,

I have to agree with you. One only needs to look at the history US and UK intervention in Iran since 1941 to better understand what is going on now.

Also, when will the US government learn that intervention in the middle east leads to fundamentalist Islamic movements a few decades later?

Can you imagine what Iraq will be like in 2030?

My view is this:
In the 1st Gulf War, we have GHW Bush, Dick Cheney, and Colin Powel. So, we had Dick, n' Bush, 'n Colin. We just didn't have enough Dick to go around, so we had to cut that war "short". Now, we have the 2nd gulf War. We have Dick n' Bush but no Colin. Well, we finally have enough Dick to go around on this one. This is the result. We took the war to it's conclusion this time. Yes, we are truly screwed.

Sure he's not crazy, they are just peaceful Shiite Muslim clerics committed to a stern interpretation of Islamic law. When was the last time Iran attacked anybody?

How about their ties to the Lebanese Shiite militants of Hezbollah, Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, militant groups in the Persian Gulf region, Africa, and Central Asia, and possibly Muqtada al-Sadr? I know what you’re thinking. It must be another Democrat or Republican party conspiracy. You people are soooo smart!

YOu can't see the tie between preparing the world for the return of the hidden imam, who signals to muslims the end of the world (final judgment), and nuclear weapons?

Mahmoud's remarks on liberal democracy are very interesting.

Leo Strauss, the father of Neoconservatism, also believed that liberal democracy was a failure.

He and the Islamists are birds of a feather.

Great documentary on the amazing similarities between these two types of fascists.
