Housing bubble bust: the before and after photos

You just know that around America, divorces will soar, crack use will rise, and domestic violence will increase (you idiot! I told you not to buy this Toll Brothers hellhole!)

The sad side of the housing bubble - lives will be ruined.

Hope it was all worth it realtors. Hope it was worth the commission mortgage brokers. Hope you invested that kickback money wisely real estate appraisers. Hope you sleep well at night Bob Toll, Osman and David Lereah.

Is that really a before/after of Whitney Houston? Where do you find these pictures? The burning house is pretty funny.

If so, Whitney has fallen really bad. She looks like a crack whore.

The New Slavery: Millions of Americans Chained By Debt

The average American in the year 2005 lives a fragile existence, in a struggle for survival that can be ended by missing a few paychecks. The carrot at the end of the stick which was formerly known as "the American dream" has been replaced by a whip that can best be described as the "American nightmare" (of homelessness, and slow, early death). You no longer work to achieve a better life for yourselves and your children. You work to keep a roof over your head, and you pray that you don't lose it. You became a slave when fear replaced incentive as your motivation to work, but I still suggest that you work while you can, because if the company you work for can't send your job overseas, the U.S. government is allowing 2000 people per day to enter this country illegally, because they're willing to do your job for less.

Mortgage Company Goes Bankrupt ....

After a five-year growth spurt in which it says it wrote $2 billion in home loans, Kirkland-based Merit Financial terminated most of its 300 or so employees Thursday in an attempt to reorganize just ahead of filing for bankruptcy protection.

Founded in 2001 by former University of Washington football player Scott Greenlaw, Merit grew from a dozen employees to become one of the largest mortgage brokers in the state.

It also offered debt-consolidation services, credit education and reverse mortgages to seniors. It actively solicited loan officers, soon amassing a stable of young up-and-comers who earned six-figure salaries.

About 95 percent of the firm's business consisted of refinances, Kidd said, a market segment particularly hard hit by the recent rise in mortgage-interest rates.

re the Seattle lender Merit closing shop:

It's been a busy week for Seattle lenders closing shop.

First Ameriquest shut all branches in the area, than Merit, and I hear WAMU is making major cutbacks in Seattle.

LOL!...

Where's everyone gonna go for a loan in this REd HOt market?!

Kieth: Although I agree with you on mostly everything, and I have laughed my a$$ off after seeing your graphics, I am deeply offended that you chose my favorite diva: Whitney Houston, as an example. Look: She has problems, obviously. Please recall all of the great songs she did (The Greatest Love, Of all..etc.) She obviously has problems...but don't diminish her stature in the history of soul music...She was a-number one, man! A number one...and a doll to boot. I wish she would chuck that moron husband of hers, and her boozing drug-infested ways. Such a waste. But please: Leave this highly talented diva alone!

keith said...

my only question is, who tries crack for the first time...what's that thought process like?

"Hmmm... I'm hearing good things about that crack stuff - let's give it a whirl"

Kinda like "hmmm... I'm hearing about this housing bubble stuff - who cares, $600,000 for a one bedroom condo, sign me up!"

If those are real pictures of here before and after, then I defend Keith 100% for showing the *truth*.

Don't let political correctness and the politics of diminished expectations excuse her behavior.

I 100% agree with the logic of what is someone thinking when they first try these drugs. I blame them for their additions, and have no sympathy. I agree that once you are addicted, it is a physical need, and very tough to shake. But I don't excuse it as a "disease" as many liberals do since you did not have this "disease" when you first starting taking this drug.

Some more personal accountability would help, and it would help many people if the media would post her before and after shots as a warning to others, rather than bury it.

In the next several years there wil be millions of homeowners in dire straits barely able to make their mortgage payments and other millions who cannot and go into foreclosure. This is due to the avaricious greed of the entire mortgage industry who lured these millions into borrowing at" teaser rates" and with a false smile told these naive borrowers that RE never goes down. Most RE agents do not care if you get into future problems with your payment:they want that commission. If you have problems paying your suddenly increased ARM you are stuck: the RE Agent got his commission already, the mortgage banker got his cut. and the homeowner is burdened with lifetime debt. In a suddenly downturned market these millions will be unable to sell or extract more equity< many will be upsidedown. SCAL Foreclosure rates are are up 30-60% first Q over last year.

Bawahahahahahahahaha!!!!

Witney is not a crack whore! According to the last pictures on the National Enquirer, she is a crack maturbationist!

And yes, she really does look that bad these days. It's a sad story and great cautionary tale to teach our kids. This is Whitney at the top, This is Whitney on crack.

Like watching MTV's Real World. There is no better PSA for how stupid and ugly one can get when drunk.

. Never Stay In Your House With House Hunters: Let the agent handle it, and remove yourself if possible. Remember that the Realtor has worked many hours with these people, and knows what they're looking for, and how to work with them. Let the Realtor do the job without interference. You may feel that an agent isn't showing the important features of your home to the prospect, but the agent knows people aren't sold by details until they've become emotionally involved with the "big picture" of your home. The presence of any member of the seller's family can't help. It always unnerves possible buyers. It often prevents a sale.

Hint #8 for . Clean Your Closets: Neat, well ordered closets look bigger, suggesting that storage space is ample. One of any home's biggest deal-killers remains: "Not enough closet space."
