Thought I'd bring some attention tonight to the continuing world AIDS crisis, especially the dying of a continent in front of our eyes - Africa. I like Bono's Red campaign - think about getting a Red AMEX - 1% goes to Aids in Africa.
And, let me point out that it's not so farfetched that humans can catch a virus from an animal (or a bird), kill millions and millions worldwide, and scientists cannot stop it.
Now back to the housing bubble...

Boy that graphic sure looks familiar...
Africa isn't dying. THe population went up by something like 30% in the last 20 years.
There is no definitive evidence that HIV mutated from a monkey virus. This is just of many theories.
Any deaths from AIDs are horrible, but especially those of children or those affecting children.
What's this? Are you showing your senstive side now? You surprise me.
"There is no definitive evidence that HIV mutated from a monkey virus."
that was proven definitively and announced yesterday - click on the thread's headline
just like housing prices, past performance does not dictate future returns.
if aids in africa goes unchecked (as well as other countries that have a hidden crisis - like russia) you'll actually start seeing declining populations

A British scientist has predicted that because of the AIDS epidemic, populations in the worst-afflicted African countries will within 20 years switch over from their present high rate of increase to an actual decrease in numbers.
In Uganda, where 1.5 million people out of a population of 16 million are thought to be infected with H.I.V., the virus that causes AIDS, the current 3 percent population growth rate is likely to fall to below zero after 2002, with more people dying than being born, the projections say.
In 15 years, Uganda would have 20 percent fewer people than if the AIDS epidemic had not occurred. The population would be 20.28 million, instead of 24 million. Tanzania, Malawi and Rwanda, all in the central and east African belt where AIDS has hit hardest, would be similarly affected, the results show.
It's Africa, who cares. They haven't evolved in the last x thousand years anyway. Dude from the US goes over to Africa. Sees that they have no water. Dig's well, begins bringing up fresh water from below. Totally amazing. These people are just flat out stupid.
Excuse me anon, I think you're talking about arizona.
I guess this is the solution to all those that decry world population overgrowth.
