A time capsule of the greatest financial mania in the history of mankind, told in real-time by regular folks and patriots. May future generations better understand the madness of crowds, and how power and money corrupt.

Well the devaluing dollar will cause prices on cheap china made walmart goods to go UP. Further inflation and more of a crunch on the monthly funds of the average citizen. More foreclosures and less homes purchased.
I am sure there are a lot more affects but this one seems clear to me.
"Always Low Prices" will apply to homes in 3 years.

The Walmart connection with China is a bit worrisome. With so much Asian manufacturing, the US factories will shut down because they can't compete. And it ain't easy to restart a manufacturing process that has been dismantled as the people, buildings, machinery, skill sets, supply and distribution lines will be gone.
So does anybody know how many steps are involved in, say, making a spoon or fork? Exactly how would you start up a factory that makes such a basic item? And for a long list of other stuff that is basic to civilization?
So what happens when, after our domestic producers are defunct, ChinaInc decides to raise prices back up to what our domestic producers used to charge? We are screwed big time and no longer have the facilities to do anything about it. I guess that we can trade them movies and legal services, eh?
It has been publicly acknowledged that if Avian Flu gets rolling, that the most basic medical supplies will be not be available- that means cotton swabs and IV bags and masks and bandages. These items are largely made in Asia now and will be needed in Asia- not to be exported.
Any alarm bells sounding off?
China selling us crap by propping up the dollar by buying treasuries and keeping rates low. If the dollar falls any more they'll reduce exposure, rates will spike. Pop. Our junk from China will be in storage.
More than 80 percent of the 6,000 factories in Wal-Mart's worldwide database of suppliers are in China. Wal-Mart estimates it spent $15 billion on Chinese-made products last year, accounting for nearly one-eighth of all Chinese exports to the United States. If the company that Sam Walton built with his "Made in America" ad campaign were itself a separate nation, it would rank as China's fifth-largest export market, ahead of Germany and Britain.

I wouldn't be surprised to Walmart actually selling houses. I'm surprised they never got in on that deal. You used to be able to buy a house from Sears back when. Walmart will have to get involved selling that new Chinese car the Ceri.

dont tell me you hate WalMart too keith...wow, you are really a liberal bonehead. You all are really the same...sad.
Wait a minute, you have to be a liberal to hate WalMart? I consider myself a staunch conservative and I hate Walmart. Do I think WalMart has a right to do business and operate, sure. But Walmart will eventually go the way that Kmart did. It will eventually do itself in because it is becoming increasingly identified with cheap crap, rude customers and employees, and filthy, disorganized stores. Once the brand is devalued enough some other major discount store will probably rise to take it's place such is the nature of business and economics but even conservatives like me will shop elsewhere.
