How are blogging and selling real estate alike?

Very interesting question asked over at the realtyblogging realtor blog. I'll take it as "how are bloggers and realtors alike":

Here's my reply:

* You can be an unqualified idiot and do either
* You don't need a high school or college degree
* Hookers, strippers and bartenders can be bloggers, realtors or both
* Neither pays much (anymore)
* One requires the internet. The other will go away because of the internet
* One you can do unshaven in your bathrobe. The other requires you to primp like a cheap hooker and lease a lexus
* Blogging is somewhat respected. Selling real estate is below drug dealer on the "what I want to be when I grow up" list
* David Learah of the NAR is the figurehead of realtors. Drudge is it for bloggers. One is on the way to jail. The other is on the way out of the closet.

Add yours here.

For an intelligent and well written response to the same question, check out Dustin Luther's post at Rain City Guide.

"One is on the way to jail"...

You know, a few months back I would have discounted that statement as ridiculous.

Now I'm not so sure.

Top of the list: Lawrence Yun and David Lereah.

Then work your way down through all these money grubbers who are so hungry to watch people go underwater that they'll say anything to pretend more appreciation is in the offing.

Totally and absolutely disgusting people.

Donald Trump was on cable television today claiming that real estate is a good investment. Tonight he was on NBC, bumping "Medium," which is far more entertaining and intelligent. This man has no shame or conscience, but neither do the networks and cable stations that promote him.
