You can't make this stuff up. His reason for being is to egg the West and Israel on to the point that they attack.
He's trying to bring about the reappearance of the hidden imam through a "cataclysmic confrontation with evil and darkness", and also the return of Jesus, and is preparing his state and government for the battle and martyrdom which has to happen to bring that about.
Which is a bit spooky in itself, but then you add to it that Bush harkens for Armageddon, the battle of Gog and Magog, and the return of Jesus. Well, they may get their wish. Heck, maybe they're both right too. We'll see I guess...
If I was Israel, I'd attack tonight, and I'd be ruthless. Make Iran a parking lot. Target their leaders, their institutions, the nukes, and their military. Send them back to the stone age.
People, read what this nut is saying. Understand the impact he'll have on Oil Prices, Housing Prices, the US Deficit, Interest Rates, and of course, World Peace. I know nobody cares, I know American Idol is on, I know nobody thinks this relates to the Housing Bubble, but folks, you can go through life ignorant and happy, or you can see what is happening right in front of your eyes and ears and you can react.
Because this game is now on.
The president of Iran again lashed out at Israel on Friday and said it was "heading toward annihilation," just days after Tehran raised fears about its nuclear activities by saying it successfully enriched uranium for the first time.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called Israel a "permanent threat" to the Middle East that will "soon" be liberated. He also appeared to again question whether the Holocaust really happened.
"Like it or not, the Zionist regime is heading toward annihilation," Ahmadinejad said at the opening of a conference in support of the Palestinians. "The Zionist regime is a rotten, dried tree that will be eliminated by one storm."
The land of Palestine, he said, referring to the British mandated territory that includes all of Israel, Gaza and the West Bank, "will be freed soon."

Folks, this Adolph Hitler of the Muslim World wants us (or Israel) to bomb him, and kill his countrymen (martyrs)

Since the Palestinians had no homeland before Israel was re-established, why is Israel being blamed for their situation? The other Arab countries never supported them or gave them territory for a homeland.
George Bush may be a bible-thumper, but his parents are Episcopalians, and Jeb is a Roman Catholic, and they certainly don't believe in the Rapture or Jesus coming in the clouds. There's no way George Jr. is going to do anything to upset them.
Incidentally, for any fundamentalists reading this, the Rapture was first espoused in the nineteenth century by a teenage trance medium (channeler) supposedly speaking for a higher power. Since fundamentalists are so horrified by psychics and mediums, shouldn't they be DENOUNCING the Rapture instead of actively promoting it?
2008 presidential hopeful John McCain said Sunday that the consequences of a military conflict with Iran over that country's nuclear program could be so serious they could lead to "Armageddon."
The Arizona Republican issued his dire warning after saying that before any military option against Iran is exercised, the world community must first put maximum pressure on Tehran through sanctions.
"We're going to the United Nations Security Council with our European allies," he told NBC's "Meet the Press." "We are seeking sanctions . . . . We must have sanctions against Iran."
McCain said that if sanctions fail, the U.S. must be prepared to resort to the use of military force.
"Would it be a difficult military option?" he asked rhetorically. "Sure, it would be a difficult military option. But you cannot remove it from the table."
Asked by "Meet the Press" host Tim Russert if the U.S. might find itself embroiled in two wars at once, McCain responded point blank:
"I think we could have Armageddon."
Countdown to a Showdown: Part I
The next few weeks of diplomacy on Iran’s nukes may be too fast and too furious. What we really need to avoid Armageddon.
If Armageddon happens, those who survive will look back and see the warnings—so many of them—that were somehow lost from view in the numbing rush of 24/7 news. They will remember that Iran pushed ahead with a nuclear program it claimed was peaceful, although no one (not even some of those who defended its right to do so) really believed that was the case. People will recall the growing sense of urgency as threats were leveled against the mullahs, sometimes from unexpected quarters. Who had thought the French would be the first to say publicly they’d use limited nuclear strikes to retaliate against terror attacks and protect access to vital natural resources? Who could have mistaken Israel’s seriousness when Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz told a conference in Herzliya that his country "must have the capability to defend itself, with all that that implies, and this we are preparing”?
A tempest in a teapot...
Iran hasn't attacked any other country in the region and shows no signs of doing so at this point in time.
Ahmadinjehad is a fanatic but is probably just talking to his political base when he makes these charges against Israel. The top man in Iran certainly doesn't support an attack on Israel.
Iran knows it would be vaporized if it attacked either Israel or Europe. Israel has 200 nukes including submarine-based nukes and Iran knows well what the consequences are.
Ahmadijehad would not be in power if it were not for the regional tensions created by reckless Bushco policies in Iraq and the ME. In fact, it is Bushco policies that have neutered the Iran reformists and created the current internal national consensus in Iran.
Iran's desire for a nuclear weapon is probably their understanding that N. Korea has escaped Bushco attack by possessing their own nukes....not in blowing up Tel Aviv.
This crisis has been concocted by our own incompetent leaders who have visions of Armageddon and of Jeezus returning to rule the world. Our problem is not controlling Iran but how to control our own bloodthirsty Christian fanatics who are thinking in medieval terms.
amen to the last desbear comment, we should be worried about our own governements actions, who are we to say who and who cant have nukes when we are stockpiling and updating our weaponary everyday.
If we are just patient, Israel will handle the problem for us.
We should simply hunker down, shut up, provide weaponry to Israel under the table and wait it out.
Besides, there are probably PLENTY of Iranians that want that Mullah loving nut done in.
There is a large population of younger Iranians who are becoming educated, have access to the internet and wish a better life for themselves and their loved ones than 15th Century eye for an eye stuff.

"The rapture is clearly refered to in the Bible, though not by that name, and is read by Catholics and Episcopalians along with all other Christian denominations."
No, it isn't mentioned in the bible by any name (the bible predicts a time when large numbers of people will die from plagues, etc.) The Rapture is a lowbrow invention, not a product of ecclesiastics. About all I can say on behalf of it is that Kurt Cameron looks pretty good for someone who must be about a million years old by now. One of the divine benefits of acting in the "Left Behind" films, I guess.
Any israel attack will have to fly over Iraqi territory to reach Iran. Therefore will be interpreted as US attack and US will be drawn into confrontation anyway...
>If we are just patient, Israel will handle the problem for us.
Let's start with our own President. He is not too far in thinking as the President of Iran. After all we invaded Iraq unilaterally, just because we can. What do you expect other leaders to do, but follow that example.
Who is the nut here?
Did Bush invade Iraq b/c he wanted to exteriminate all Iraqis? That's the proper analogy.
Yeah, who are we to say who gets nukes? Actually Iran signed an agreement that they wouldn't. People who speak out against the gov't in Iran get imprisoned/killed. To make a moral equivalence between the West and the medieval Muslim countries is just nuts.
In your article you say the following:
"He's trying to bring about the reappearance of the hidden imam through a "cataclysmic confrontation with evil and darkness", and also the return of Jesus, and is preparing his state and government for the battle and martyrdom which has to happen to bring that about"
At first glance I assumed you were talking about President Bush. They appear to be cousins!
Keith (and others),
Has the thought that war is costly in every way and that killing innocent people is wrong ever entered your brain?
I've been turned off by past social comments; however, the idea of "turning Iran into a parking lot" has clued me into your state of mind.
I'll definitely read anything else on this blog in the future with this in mind.
Doesn't Notradamus predict that the 3rd anti Christ will rise in the East? Middle East? Something like osama, or this president of Iran?
I'm very troubled by this constant anti-Israel rhetoric from Iran. Mind you, I believe the American media is slanted towards Israel and the Palestenian side doesn't get enough air time, but then again they can't do too much when some of their fanatics spend time blowing up innocent people.
However this plays out, if we go to war in Iran I want McCain as president. I don't feel that this country will have any credibility in the ME without a new president. I'll also support strikes including nuclear against a regime that wants to acquire nuclear weapons for peaceful purposes but then talks about annihialiting Israel.
But then again I think we should have nuked Tora Bora in 2001. Osama Bin Laden could have been melted to death just like he did to those people in the WTC.
The hardliners in Iran have a lower approval rating than Bush, someday thankfully they will both be gone.

If you spent even a few minutes of not letting your pathological hatred for Bush blind you from reality, and picked up a history book from even the past 30 years, you will know that Iran, since 1979, has been attacking Israel and funding terrorist groups around the world.
They have funded groups like Hezbollah and Hamas and used them to fight their proxy war against Israel and the US.
Iran only knows how to fight a war when they are paying someone else to do their fighting for them.
They spent 8 years trying to fight Iraq. Iran had superior numbers of soliders. And Iraq troops beat them back everytime.
You say: "Iran knows it would be vaporized if it attacked either Israel or Europe."
The whole concept of mutually assured destruction to keep war from happening (It did work between the USSR and US during the cold war) doesn't work if one side of the conflict are completely suicidal and don't care if thousands / millions of their own people die in the process.
I bet if you had problems taking a crap tomorrow, you'd claim it was some right-wing conspiracy by Bush.
Grow up.
McCain tried to ban the UFC because he was taking kickbacks from the boxing commission, McCain is the most dirty politician ever, the fact that he is teaming up with a drunken killer like Kennedy does not surpise me.
Israel is useless to the US. I suggest
the Israelis start packing.
James Madison, the father of our constitution was about 5'4" so shove
your too short comment.
Don't forget the Keating.....Sav/Loan scandal.Used Iraq 1990/1991 Shield/Storm to put that fire out in a very diligent way. ........HMMMMMM!!
The first causality of war is the truth. This is the way it always starts with propaganda claiming that the leaders in question are "madmen" or "suicidal". Read your history books you ignorant punk
Did anybody thnk that this may be be just talk. Creating this unstability keeps oil at a high and Iran exports oil. Maybe it is just rhetoric to keep oil at a high so they get rich. Like others on the blog said Iran knows it will be anhiliated if it attacks Israel. They will never do it.
It's deja vu all over again. We saw the same rhetoric and hand wringing back in the late '30s as Hitler came to power. Member states of the EU will do nothing but talk (as usual), China and Russia probably welcome the consequences, and since the present administration in the U.S. has lost so much credibility in Iraq, it lacks public support and can't act. Israel will be forced to act alone, and the fuse will be lit. Welcome to WWIII courtesy of history. Have fun y'all!
My bet, as a retired intel guy ---> US attacks Iran by summer '06, Iran increase anti-US terrorism throught world, and expect Iraq situation to get red hot, US casualties 30+ a day - possible closure of Strait of Hormuz - suicide squads try to attack US ships in area. Venenzuela stops sending oil to US - US under Monroe doctrine imperative (if it is not used now, it would become useless) will attack Venenzuela Oil facilities (under if you don't sell to us, you sell to no one). Expect Oil -$100++ a barrel. As increase in terrorism happens, US start bombing sorties in Iran - do not expect airspace usage from Saudi Arabia & Turkey... Big one is if China comes to the help of Iran by dumping US treasury, and if there is a concerted effort to devalue the dollar...+ don't be surprise China makes a move on Taiwan or North Korea to South Korea. We are likely going to suffer our "Suez Canal " moment. When England & France tried to behave like an empire, but they did not have the money anymore in 1955, and had to stop the invasion and go home. And just like the British Empire where COAL was the energy source that power the country, and the power structure refuse to yield to new energy form (OIL) in the late 19th century. The US power structure refuses to yield to new energy sources, and holds on to oil.
This is a no win situation for us. The only way out of this is to devalue OIL. That will take brains & will. Something that we are short on with our present management.
intel guy above:
your whole time line seems totally plausible, except the part about China. I think they'll be happy to sit on the sidelines, no military actions anywhere, and come out of the mess looking like the nicest, smartest guys on the planet.
At some point, China's going to look so good that Taiwan will be begging to be "re-unified with the Mother Country".
Turn Tehran's Mullah mansions into parking lots.
Anyone that believes in the man made, man written stories of the bible and/or koran is an absolute idiot.
Yes, there are lots of idiots in the world.
In Rome the Christian buried themselves underground in catacombs because they believe the Jesus second comming was imminent.
And that was 2000 years ago!
I guess Bush used the same definition of "imminent" when he told us Iraq was going to attack American sometime in the next 5000 years. LOL
Happy Easter you retards! Buy some junk food and bunnies for your kids made in China to celebrate your fake Gods. LOL
Keith, stop with all your nutty freakish war-mongering. You're really starting to get creepy. Reallly, really, really! Anyway, if you were truely informed, you would know that the president of Iran is nothing but a figurehead with no power. He has no control over the military or foreign affairs. This is just rhetorical grandstanding on his part and nothing more. And also, stop with the melodramatic overused comparisons between anyone you don't like and Hitler. That cliche is about as meaningless and well worn as it gets. Seems to me there is more than a smattering of racism in your posts with regards to Iranians. All this silly talk about 'suicidal population'. Where are you getting that racist silliness? People are people period. They want security and peace. Iran has not invade or attacked another country in 250 years. They are surrounded by foreign troops, of course they are going to do some saber rattling and grandstanding. They are in the neighborhood of nuclears armed countries (Pakistan, India, Israel). The nuke program in Iran is over 30 years old and was started with both the help and blessing of the US government which offered to help Iran complete a whole fuel cycle during the Ford administration. It is nothing less than assinine to fantasize about some sort of nuke attack by Iran on Israel or any other country. This would result in nothing but mutually assured destruction. Secondly, as signer to the NPT, they are not violating any laws whatsoever by enriching uranium. This is a right granted to all NPT signers and is perferctly appropriate within the bounds of the NPT. The issue at hand is not Iran attacking neighbors with nukes (any nuke they have would be purely for prestige, detterence, and defensive purposes). Rather, the concern is that a nuclear arms war will be triggered in the Persian Gulf should Iran develop nukes. Iran being the only non-arab shia oil producing country in the Persian Gulf would make Arab nations like the Saudis unable to stand idly by and tolerate a nuclear armed non-arab neighbor across from them in the Gulf. This would be a threat to stability in this oil producing region thereby threatening the oil dependant economies of the West. Never forget, Johnny's gotta drive his Hummer from his stucco/chicken wire house in the ex-urbs to his job at the DQ.
"Keith, stop with all your nutty freakish war-mongering. You're really starting to get creepy."
I agree. It's amazing how easily the crowds get all emotionally riled up. Why are most of you so easily mind-controlled by your government's propaganda? Particularly considering the lies that were exposed after the illegal invasion of 2003, you'd think you would be just a little suspicious.....
"Keith, stop with all your nutty freakish war-mongering. You're really starting to get creepy."
I agree. Keith you are not as smart as I thought. Actually I am starting to believe you are an intolerant nut case who just happened to see the light in the housing environment.
To the Anonymous who said...
"Did Bush invade Iraq b/c he wanted to exteriminate all Iraqis? That's the proper analogy."
"Yeah, who are we to say who gets nukes? Actually Iran signed an agreement that they wouldn't. People who speak out against the gov't in Iran get imprisoned/killed. To make a moral equivalence between the West and the medieval Muslim countries is just nuts."
Actually Bush is far worst than the Iranian President. He not only lied about the reason to go to war against Iraq, which posed no immediate threat to the U.S., but killed thousands of Iraqui cilians in the process. I cannot forget the image of the child who lost his entire family, and all four limbs. He did not want to come to America to get any health aid because he hated America. I cannot blame him.
Who has the moral ground here? Our President has none. The Administration planned to attack Iraq way before 9/11. Don't you see this is all about oil and the desire to use Euros to pay for oil and not the current currency, the dollar. It is about keeping the standard of living in America with the blood of thousands of innocent people.
At least the Iranian President says what he thinks. We know where he stands regarding Israel. But so far he has attacked no one. Granted he is not my favorite President. But Bush, he just lies to all of us.
"Bush, he just lies to all of us. "
amen
My own estimation is that Israel will not be that happy about nuking Iran... there is a large Jewish community there, and it sets a rather bad precedent.
What goes around comes around...
