What's with the Chinese "cameraman" who tried to put his hand over the heckler's mouth? He probably would have taken her out if she showed signs of being armed. The Guoanbu (China's version of the CIA/special ops) certainly has a long reach these days -- they've even infiltrated the White House Press gallery.

But I suppose after snatching the design for the W88 nuclear warhead and the source code for Windows 2000, a task like that is pretty simple.

The picture - The picture -- take it down soon --- or you'll find yourself in Gitmo by Sunday........

I'll tell you what ticks me off-- My grandfather made it out of Fascist Spain - Heil Senor Franco, my grandfather settled in Cuba of course comrade Castro was next--- I made it out of the shit hole, with my family grandpa included in the Mariel Boatlift -- yeapp the one with Tony Montana and his little friend....

By nature, I tend to be anti-authoritarian and very libertarian -- maybe is all those rotten eggs, and tomatoes the commie bastards threw at my home as a kid....

I can see the "it" "They" " Military industrial complex" "you name it" trying to create an oligarchical, authoritarian, theocratic something --whatever it's that they are trying to create is the exact opposite of what an "constitution based US of A" was....

What "they" don't see, is the when the "exact opposite" takes hold it will kill the golden goose that "They" fought so hard to become the masters of...

From experience, people in "exact opposites" become extremely passive aggressive underneath and deceitful to survive.... Making it impossible that your people would ever be able to create a "golden goose"..... This is why the Soviet Union, or "fill in here your past "exact opposite empire of your choice" never makes to the final leg.....

Wake up "constitution based US of A" it's much later than you think!!!.......

I’ll never forget seeing that image of the Chinese student standing down those tanks for the first time in my life … I was 23 years old. I was full of myself, no worries, no thought of others. I think that video made me a more enlightened person; it made me a more considerate person. That’s the first time in my life I got emotional about politics. It pissed me off!

Have always wondered if the tank ran that dude over

He was not run over. Some bystanders (one on a bicycle!) finally zoomed in and gently took him out of the way.

It was very touching.

Anyway, when I think of Tiananmen, I think of Kent State.

Do you remember American college students being shot to death by- who was it?- the national guard? the army? Too young to remember who was shooting.

And that was just a war protest! Nobody was trying to take the government down.

We are not so clean here.

I, for one, would like to welcome our new Chinese overlords. May they apply the lash sparingly, only so much as is needed to teach us their superior ways.

Kent State = Tiananmen Square? Boy do you need some history lessons. Four students were shot dead at Kent State when they charged a line of scared, inexperienced National Guard soldiers. Thousands died at Tiananmen Square and thousands more were imprisoned later. Their deaths were ordered at the highest levels of the Chinese government. Both were tradgedies, but the Chinese did a far better job of slaughtering innocents.

the tank commander said they thought he carried high-grade anti-tank explosives. as the result, they felt reluctant to shoot him down.

You people have absolutely no clue about living under a repressive regime.

Your boy Bush has almost three more years to show us what it's like.

Why did we sell ourselves out to China?

Because in our new global economy, we are shipping out the low-wage polluting industries to the developing world while we preserve the high-wage skilled jobs for our citizens.

And if you believe that, I feel sorry for you.

desbear:

Do we believe they are really shipping out our polluting crappy industrial jobs, or do we falsely believe that we're preserving our high-wage white collar pencil-pushing jobs? ;)

Anybody here in Seattle over the WTO? If you were, you know how ugly it can get and how innocents- including Red cross workers- get caught in the melee.

And I'm sure there are plenty of African Americans alive today who can tell us mealy white folks just how out of control our government can get.
