Anonymous posts back on - but at least sign your name

I turned 'em off when people started getting mean, and also not giving some name in their post so we could keep track of who said what

But I'll turn the ability back on (for now). Just:

1) keep it clean
2) give a name, nome-de-pluer, whatever
3) make a point
4) try to spell right

Christians long ago quit killing non-believers; Muslims are still killing them, and threatening to kill BILLIONS.

Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are all from the same seed; however, Judaism and Christianity have advanced in the last half century, while Islam has regressed a thousand years.

Incidentally, the bible lists a number of so called abominations including attached housing, all representational art, faulty weights and measures, and women wearing slacks. Children who speak back to their parents are supposed to be stoned to death, and women who touch their husbands' genitals are supposed to have their hands cut off. Most Christians realize such notions are insane, and simply ignore those passages that might make their own lives miserable, while hypocritically quoting those supposedly applicable to others (gays, etc.).

However, as far as I know, no fundamentalist Christian groups in this country or anywhere else are stoning women for showing their hair or faces, torturing children to elicit confessions from their parents, flying jets into buildings, or blowing up people on buses and subways--all in hopes of getting laid by virgins in heaven. Only the dumbest of the dumb (or the ugliest of the ugly) could fall for something this preposterous.

I disagree. Liberals are not intrinsically bad, but they often are not practical. Most, I think, are very young and idealistic, though there's always Barbra Streisand to spoil an otherwise pleasant theory.

I do not understand why so many liberals are defensive of Islam and Muslims, when they certainly are not of Judaism or Christianianity and their followers. By every rational measure, Islam is infinitely worse that Judaism or Christianity, and Islamic countries have NO human or animal rights.

Clearly, this has more to do with the liberals' hatred of George Bush and their obsession with alleged neocon conspiracies (many fooled by Michael Moore's creative splicing and editing) than its has to do with logic or history. The conspiracy nutters keep popping up on this and other bubble blogs (I think many are anarchists hoping for a depression to punish everyone with money), and eventually all get around to blaming everything on the Jews, Masons, or Illuminati. It never dawns on them that the people concocting these conspiracy theories are (1) redneck fundamentalist Christians (2) anti-Semites (3) Nazis (4) Muslims (5) white supremacists (6) schizophrenics who hear "voices", and (7) lunatics in general. While liberals fall for the crazy theories (Michael Moore thinks the U.S. orchestrated 9/11), few would openly associate with the maniacs who invent them, but I don't see how they can separate PRODUCTS from PRODUCERS.

Speaking against Islamic fanatics is not racist. People of ALL races practice Islam; it is a religion, not a genotype. Speaking against illegal Mexican immigrants (many Muslim, by the way; Islam is increasingly popular with poor Mexicans), is not racist. Mexicans come in all colors, too. One group (Islamic fanatics) is bent on world domination and destruction of everything modern; the other group (illegal Mexican immigrants) is simply determined to tresspass, and make absurd demands on a foreign government that owes it nothing.

You don't have to go back to many decades to find an instance of european christians using their superior faith to justify murdering people of another presumed lesser faith. Christians will do this again. They have evolved but given enought time they will devolve, it could happen much sooner than you think. Aldous Huxley writes about when he was a young man. Upon hearing about the atrocities of WWI, he couldn't believe it was actually happening, since society had evolved and there was no way that this could happen in his modern times.

What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. Is there anything of which one can say, "Look! This is something new"? It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time. There is no remembrance of men of old, and even those who are yet to come will not be remembered by those who follow.

Wow. I really appreciate having the Anon back on.

That said, I can also see why you turned it off.

Housing ,anyone?

BTW Keith: your first date on the top there says March 27, 2007.

Hmm...wonder where we'll be a year from now.

Keith...you're really losing it. Stick with the housing bubble talk and maybe educate yourself on other topics before formulating opinions.

FYI, you can use the "other" option without a password. You just have to type in a name that will appear at the top.
