It's official - 15% of Americans are smart, and 36% are complete idiots

Ignorance is bliss they say.

In this case, though, ignorance is financial devastation.

Those 36% are probably too entranced with their reality tv shows and mindless existence to bother reading a paper or watching the news. Or maybe their jobs are tied to real estate and they don't want to face reality. But talk about living in a cocoon...

Americans remain confident that housing values will continue to flourish and that the high-flying market will come in for a smooth, soft landing instead of a crash.

Less than 15 percent of Americans surveyed in a Bloomberg/Los Angeles Times poll expect home prices in their neighborhood to fall during the next six months. More than twice that, 36 percent, see prices rising during that time.

Investors making more than $100,000 a year are even more optimistic: Forty-three percent of the affluent expect prices to rise and only 12 percent predict a decline.

It's official. 15% of the people who agree with this blog are smart. Only dumb people don't share in the special view that the chosen few have.

Is this a blog about a housing bubble or a blog about dumping on people who don't share your view?

People are being misled and lied to. Plenty of well meaning, intelligent people are going to suffer. They are not idiots. They're making a big mistake.

I believe there's about a year left before the economy tanks. What if I'm wrong? Am I an idiot, too?

What if there's another economic boom in 18 months and housing goes to new highs? Would you be an idiot?

How about a little understanding and respect for people who don't share your view?

It's easy to characterize everyone who doesn't agree with you as a flipper, a realtor, or a spendthrift. It's also a big mistake.

yup, it's a blog about dumping on people who don't share my view.

geesh, figured you would have figured that out by now

Joe seems to think the people that were "lied to" are innocents in all this. Bull! They bought their ticket, they knew what they were getting into. I say let'em crash. I'm pissed because they are going to pull me down (a little) and there's nothing I can do about it. The $600,000 or so that my home is going to give back never was my money so I won't miss it but the general economy is not something you can avoid.

Great pain when it collapses don't you mean?

People are being misled and lied to. Plenty of well meaning, intelligent people are going to suffer. They are not idiots. They're making a big mistake.

So if you knocked up your girlfriend are you not an idiot for forgetting birth control? That's right, it's not YOUR fault, it's Wal-mart's fault for not putting condoms in your basket. It your girlfriends' fault for not taking her pills. It's everyone else's fault but your own.

Same thing with the housing bubble. Like the bartender owning 19 properties - the horny teenager also knew the consequences.

We can not call them idiots. They are just not informed or they dont want to know the truth. In this country alot of people believe what they see on the TV.They believe in "authorities", who tell them the truth (mind manufacturing) .
Thanks to the internet and bloggers, we can share the knowledge, in the other case i would call myself crazy.

Noah:
12. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh• had corrupted his way• upon the earth.

11. The earth also was corrupt• before God, and the earth was filled with violence•.

So who was smart? Noah or the corrupt?

1. AND the LORD said unto Noah•, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

75% of the time I get valuabla info from this blog, SoCals and others. The other 25% I get this sick feeling its 'dumping on people who don't share your view'...that or Schadenfreude or both.

36% are complete idiots

That's about the number who voted for Bush, before it got pumped up by Diebold machines.

36% is about what Bu$hco's approval rating is currently. This pretty much proves that about this portion of the population is either completely unaware of external events or completely deluded about reality.

Keith is attracted to 36% of the men in England vs only 15% in the US.

I like this blog, and I like following and predicting market moves. The problem is, most of you guys are left wing nuts. Liberal and anti-capitalist John Kerry Al Gore lovers. Guys, wake up, seriously. I mean check this post out... "36% are complete idiots

That's about the number who voted for Bush, before it got pumped up by Diebold machines."

That guy is a moron! Even that bartender guy with 19 houses knows that Bush won Fla in 2000. And would you really want Gore or Kerry in office? Really?? Kerry is the poster child for rich, snobby, northeast elitism...yet you wanted him in office. 2008 will not be your year either. There is this thing called Fox News and the conservative movement...America has a choice, we do not have to listen to Dan Rather every night, or Katie Couric in the morning. Once we got the available choices (late 90's) the left started to drown in it's own stupidy.

36% are also registered DummyCraps. I believe the housing bubble is greatest in California. Full of left-wing morons buying up 1500 sqft homes for $750K. Watch them blame Bush when their little investment goes up in flames
