Phoenix: Meritage Homes offering $50,000 off this weekend (meltdown alert)

Like Centex's $100,000 off sales in California, now Meritage in Phoenix offering $50 grand if you pick up one of their lonely houses

I'd hold out for the half-off sale.

"Special-one-time-only pricing"

These builder sales will soon become like the sales at Home Depot and Best Buy. You can COUNT ON a "10 or 20 percent off" sale every holiday weekend. If you don't wanna buy a house on President's day, wait until St Patricks, or Easter, or Memorial weekend.

Check out my new post on my blog. The listing to population ratio for Phoenix, Vegas, and LA's Inland Empire are now the same as non-bubble cities like Dallas and Houston.

Now home prices are based on supply and demand. The reason for low prices in Dallas and Houston is because of the high inventory volume. So if bubble markets like Phoenix/Vegas/IE are now at the same high inventory volume level, are we looking at price drops soon?!!

Prices don't need to drop. If prices simply stay flat for 7 years, and inflation runs at to six percent, that is equivalent to a 33% loss in value.

They'll probably be forced to offer a "buy one get one free" deal.

I'm holding out for the half price sale. It's coming, I'm sure of it. Lots of "open houses" today but no one is biting.
