recent article from reuters had good info from texas market. One thing I can tell you from living in Houston for a bit is there's just too much land to keep building, hurting appreciation.

But... without this speculative appreciation, you won't see a bursting of a bubble to the extent that the rest of the country will - you're at the mean, not wwaaaayyy above it:

While Texas and its urban areas are not immune to a correction in its housing market, analysts say plentiful land and moderate price growth should protect home values even if the bubble bursts elsewhere."

"Consequently, Texas as a whole has not seen the explosive home value growth that many other places have, although certain gentrified pockets in urban cores have seen fantastic price increases. In fact, California speculators have been lured to the bargains they see in the nation's second-largest state in terms of both area and population
