This one's not a joke - Buffalo's "#1 real estate agent" arrested for not paying taxes for the past nine years

OK, I can see how the IRS wouldn't catch it if you didn't file for a year, maybe two.

But nine?

But here's the good news - the IRS now has
31 realtors in New York under investigation for felony tax evasion. And I bet there's a bunch of six percenters reading this right now thinking to themselves "oh, crap"

Quagliano, a leading real estate agent, filed no federal tax returns for 9 years

Matthew Quagliano, the Hunt Real Estate agent indicted on tax fraud charges last week in Albany for not paying his state income taxes, has also not filed federal income tax returns for at least nine years.

Two attorneys representing him said that Quagliano, described by his firm as Hunt’s No. 1 Buffalo agent, is extremely busy in his real estate career.

“He works 24/7,” said attorney Joel L. Daniels. “He may be the busiest real estate agent in Western New York. He’s a very busy guy.”

The next corrupt industry of bullshitters to get flushed down the toilet - the lawyers who defend these scum. Hilarious that his lawyer's excuse for this idiot going 9 years without filing a tax return is that he was too busy.

He'll be a popular bottom in jail

He looks like he will fit in real nice with the big house crew..

He should be able to sit down comfortably in about 2011.

Don't drop the soap in the shower and keep your back to the wall, cutie. You might want to leave the head-shot at home. You will have plenty of opportunities for head shots of another kind up in Albany, Dick.

Ripping everyone off once was not enough.

Definitely a bottom

The old "I'm busy" alibi. Good luck with that.

People who sell themselves body and sole have something in common. Porn star Ginger Lynn also went to prison for tax evasion.

He 'owes' $365,946. Nice how the taxman, I mean the federal reserve, gets all pissy when people don't pay their income taxes.

But when people create wealth out of thin air like the ponzi schemers in my neck of the woods, they get off scott free.

He's sure got a purty mouth, heh, heh, heh.

From the posts so far, it's clear that your site is visited by several IRS goons. Odd, Keith, that while you criticize government agencies and others for all sorts of criminal and immoral activities, you lend support to the biggest scam of all, the federal income tax.

I say more power to this guy. If he wasn't a realtor, but instead a barber or carpenter, would all these clownish comments still appear on this site? Hypocrites.

Another non-filer

He's in the real estate business... and he's "busy"? Now?

Something doesn't sound right here...

Wow, he's so busy he didn't have time to call an accountant to do his taxes.
Now he'll have a few years to relax and unwind at club fed.

ha ha. he thought it was too "expensive" (required too much of his time) to file. Well, that will seem very "inexpensive" very soon if it doesn't seem that way already.

I personally know Matt. Yes, he could be a bottom, but I have never asked his bf and really its an immature joke. Bottom/prison, haha funny.

Matt has his faults, we have had many disagreements. BUT, he does work very hard. In fact, I'd credit him with almost single handedly turning around a complete neighborhood in Buffalo that was beginning to slide toward ghetto.

But then again, like the Reverend Wright, its easiest to vilify a guy you don't know.

One more thing.... Buffalo does not have a subprime fiasco. Our housing prices are still and always were, connected to what folks makes.

And, yes, Buffalo has a busy real estate market, our prices have not fallen. In fact its very hard to find a property in the desirable areas of the city.

I wonder if the State of New York will allow him to keep his R.E. license? I doubt it.
He better start looking for a new job. Pity it will never pay as much.

===============================

I suggest that you study the law.

Learn the difference between "illegal tax evasion" and "legal tax avoidance".

The Tax code is like swiss cheese, full of loopholes.

A smart individual can devise business strategies to legally avoid a large portion of what dumb shit J6P pays out!

By the way its called tax prep due-dillengence.

I know a few attorneys who legally collected $200K+/ yr in 100% tax exempt fee income. Now, that's called having your cake and eating it too. Hint: If your lawyer sends you an invoice and types the words "Postal Code" on your envelope containing your bill. Chances are that your lawyer is taking advantage of a little known tax exemption on 100% of the fee income that you are paying him/her.

Just food for thought!

I've been saying for months that this has been coming. All those low-life realtors and mortgage peddlers were 1099 and I GUARANTEE more than half of them paid no taxes all along. The arrests will be in the thousands, especially now with falling tax revenues.

It must be my inner hippie, but PAY YOUR FUCKING TAXES SCUMBAG!! There is no 100% tax free sure thing out there on earned income. Your lawyer buddie that helps with "legal" tax avoidance is going to get pumped up the ass as well.

You want tax free income? Buy Munis that do not contain private activity.
